    Default New Zealand

    Hey guys,
Just wondering if anybody on the board has had any experience dancing in NZ. I danced there for awhile about 3 and a half years ago and was just wondering how things are now? I am heading back there real soon and just want an idea of what to expect.
Any info you guys can offer would be great

    Hi Honey,
I live in New Zealand and danced here for 3 or 4 years.
Where were you dancing? I don't know about Auckland, but Wellington is pretty slow at the moment...
    Where are you from?

I am from Christchurch... been away in Australia and Canada the last few years and am finally heading back home. I guess I will just have to find out how Christchurch is doing when I get there....
I plan to travel round a bit though so it would be great if you could give me the goss on the clubs etc up there in Wellington.
    Thanks

Hi Krys, I dance in New Zealand. At the moment Im in Wellington. I was dancing up in Auckland at The Whitehouse, but moved back here to be with family. The Whitehouse is the best club I have ever been to in NZ. Wellington is a bit slow but still going

    You guys like the Whitehouse?

I went in one night to check it out (as a customer) and i didn't really like it. The place kinda felt like a school hall or something...

Are Chloe and Mel still there? - stupid question really, they'll never leave!

Canada is ok, what you make of it I guess. Exchange is similar to Aus. Make sure you get a visa before you go it is VERY hard to get work without one and a HUGE headache to arrange one while you are there. They give out 800 working visas at the start of every year, see the embassy website for details.
Can't stand working in NZ going back to Australia.
    Good luck girls xo

    Krys--

I will be in New Zealand next November/December to see family, and was considering working while there (Auckland). I guess i will check out the White House. What do you not like about working in NZ? Thx.

I'm only Australian.. however there are plenty of Kiwi girls at my club.

Mermaids and The WhiteHouse are the only decent places.. I've been told. Each appeals to different dancers... like per usual.. one club will work well for one dancer and the same club won't for another.

If anyone wants to dance on the Gold Coast.. message or email me. I can then "introduce" you to the manager... he looks on you more favourably if you are introduced by someone who already works there.

Chloe is still there at the Whitehouse, but Mel is down here in Wellington at Liks. Brian Le Gros is the same owner to Liks and The whitehouse and we have one in New Caledonia too. He is a great boss, The Whitehouse is a great place to work in Auckland and Liks is in Wellington.
