Have any of you heard of the Pixies ? I am sure alot have, then they became the Breeders or the other way around.

I have just pulled out a Pixies cd, and alot of that music would be great for dancing/stripping. Some slow and sensual, other a tad faster.

Just thought i would give a heads up!

Can you recommend some tracks? I've never heard of the Pixies I don't think. If you can recommend, it may save me searching through all their songs on the internet.

I'm trying to imagine someone dancing to "Wave of Mutilation." Hey, it might be cool.

Crazy! I was just singing the Pixies! I was singing "Where Is My Mind" off Fight Club Soundtrack. This is one of their more mainstream songs that a lot of you might have heard. The pixies have been my favorite band since 9th grade. k: Excellent music! Kim Deal and her sis went on to the Breeders after the Pixies I think, or maybe even during, but I think Pixies came first. Frank Black is from the Pixies (musical genious) and he also had a solo career. Yes I have danced to a few Pixies songs. "Where is My Mind", "Hey", "No. 13 Baby", "Monkey Gone to Heaven" are a few. I can't remember if I've danced to "Wave of Mutilation", but it is a great song.

    Great suggestion Pamela!

Love the Pixies, and have danced to "Wave of Mutilation", but it wasn't the easiest to groove to. I like to dance to Velouria and Gigantic, occasionally.

Wow! Thanks al! I thought i was the only one into the music by them. There is one off the top of my head...Is it something like the "sweater song?' Hmmm, need to listen more i guess. I first listened to them in the 80's. So i am not too familiar, but the one cd i have is sexy, and different!

"Sweater song (Undone)" is Weezer, early 90s (I think... might be late 90s). That is, if it is the song I'm thinking of.

Pixies are awesome... "Here Comes the Man" and "Where is my Mind" are easiest for me to groove on. Doolittle is a great album all around. We play lots of Pixies at our club.

I found this other forum with a thread on songs that sound like the Pixies.. might give us some new tunes to dance to... http://forum.frankblack.net/topic.as...52&whichpage=1

I have played The Pixies quite often, especially for Caroline, who was very appreciative since she really liked them, and the other DJs there wouldn't.

"Bone Machine" and "Here comes the man", I actually dance those songs very often. It seems I've found (finally) some girls who share my musical taste!

The Pixies are great! I do a lot of Techno... Lords of Acid, Crystal Method, etc.. if you want some great beats to mix things up, try Sex Bomb-Lords of Acid (lyrics are pretty explicit, but it sets a fast paced mood), also I am in need of some help finding some slower bluesey music--anyone have any suggestions?

    Slower bluesier..

How about some Kid Rock? The radio never plays the really cool stuff. I was listening to What I Learned Out On the Road just a few minutes ago(album: Cocky). I'll bet a rap can be tough to dance to sometimes, but this song switches between some laid back blues and heavy guitar. Great sexual double-entendre going on in the lyrics too!

I dance to some of The Cure and I found a newer Aerosmith song on Just Push Play that really gets my ego goin. Its called Beautiful and trust me girls this song gets attention almost as much as a really good lords of Acid song. I have also aquired a fondness for Alice by Sisters of Mercy. Thats off the Some girls Wander By Mistake album.
