    Default Nads

I am a mere shadow of my former minimalist self now that I work at an upscale club. *sigh* I always swore that i would be the last holdout with real eyebrows. Finally plucked three weeks ago. I spent six months daily touching up my nail polish (I type a lot, which make the polish chip) before giving in and getting acrylic nails. And now I am finally considering some sort of wax job. I've been shaving daily from the neck down and using Nair for the perineum, but that is getting really damned old. I'm almost willing to undergo wax torture to avoid body hair for a few weeks.

I've bought a box of Nads, that Austrailian sugar-based stuff. I haven't had the opportunity to try it out yet, as I have to grow the hair out before I can use it. Has anyone here tried it? How painful was it? How easy was it to use and did it work well? Any comments?

    Hi Lilith,
For me personally, the only thing that Nads did was make me sticky. I purchased some three years ago and was confused by the instructions. The goo never "heated" according to my body temperature, as it was supposed to do. The little hair it did remove hurt like hell when pulled from its roots. Maybe I didn't do it correctly, or it could be that it didn't work for other reasons. The only thing I'd worry about is the time you need inbetween uses...you will have to wait long enough for the hair to grow to a certain legnth, and this might not be great for dancing.

However, it may work for you, so good luck!

I'm with BloodyDewDrop on that. I did use it a couple years ago and it was horrible.

Damn Raven, that's horrible. I would've wanted more back than a refund.

I've never used Nads, but I've only heard bad things about their company. So since it wasn't positive for you guys, more than likely I will have the same results.

I am a licensed beautician and beyond doing hair for screaming kids and sets for the older crowd, I am a big fan of waxing.

For doing waxing on myself I avoid the Muslin route all together. I use a product called "No Tweeze Wax" (Web: http://www.no-tweeze.com). This hot wax is applied with a large wooden spatula (think large Popsicle stick). It sets up firm and then you can pull the wax itself off without any Muslin.

While they say you can use a Microwave to warm the stuff, I have a super old little pot that I put some water in and heat the wax on the stove.

The stuff is great... and I am attaching a file that shows how to do eyebrows with it. (PS: I tried, but it would not attach )

Hope that is better than sugaring....

I dont' know how you are with pain but I would just go to someone. Its 3X more expensive and you need an appointment... but I was NEVER able to bring myself to rip off the wax once I stuck it on... just couldn't do that to myself

Just go to someone else.....we have a natural instinct or reflex that keeps us from causing ourselves too much pain..except for some people who thrive on that....if you have ANY pube hair, its gonna be Nadspubehair if you try yourself..meow!

I used to use NADS all the time and loved it, But I used in in Australia where it is made and is alot cheaper. Maybe it works different in the different climate?? Wax can be very sensitive to temperature and being a natural product probably doesn't help??

I used it when it first came out a few years ago, and have a nearly full container of the crud under my sink to this day!
It didn't pull ANY hair of, and I made sure to THINLY apply (which I knew from using REAL wax- if you put it on too thick it won't pull off, but rather suck in the strip of cloth!)
I guess my Italian/African ancestry was too much for that stuff!
I stick with GiGi wax, I have my little warmer for it, muslin strips, popsicle stick thingies and I know exactly what to expect- smoooothe skin!
