    Default The Strip Workout book

So I am in Barnes & Noble yesterday and ran across "The S-Factor: Strip Workouts for Every Woman" http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...books&n=507846 .

Now, of course I had to flip through it! There was actually a section on pole work in it that (once you got past the toning exercises) had good step by step pictures on how to do some tricks. After seeing that, I thought that maybe it might help some newbies out there... especially since it is only $15.95 or so. Also of note were some good poses for floor work.

Cool! So aside from a few pics, was it a good read?? I know you probably were only able to skim a little bit, but was it well written?

I skimmed the pole dancing part mostly thinking it was going to be stregthening and stretching moves (which a lot of it is) but found it to have good step by step pictures and descriptions that made sense to me. It is pretty much all pics with a description of what you are seeing in the pic. I, personally, thought it was worth the $15 for someone wanting to have a good mobile how-to of some moves.

I'm thinking of actually buying it if that is an endorsement I saw a couple things I wanted to learn.

Thanks for the review. Maybe it will give me some ideas for my own cardio strip class.

I got this too, it's actually pretty useful. The price was a great incentive to. The pics are pretty easy to follow

I just picked it up and It looks great! I'm glad to finally get pole moves broken down and easy to understand. Six years at this and I've never really done anything other than spin around .

I teach dance class at myn club to new girls and this is going to be very helpful! I've tried to break down the basics to teach them but it's really hard, I've been doing it so long that I don't even think about what I'm doing. Hopefully my "students" won't look at me like I"m stupid any more!

I got the book in the mail a couple days ago. It's really good! The writing seems mainly geared toward housewives, but the movements are broken down nicely and pics are great - easy to follow. I think this should be required for all newbies!

What kind of moves does the book have? Does it contain any challenging moves? I always wanted to learn how to hang on the pole with one leg upside down but no-one I've danced with knows how to do it.

Hey ya'll! I've never posted before, but I saw this and had to...I'm not a dancer but it is something that I have always wanted to do. I bought this book and it is written and illustrated where it is easy to understand. I think it'll help anyone if it can help me

Ok I went to Barnes and Noble the other day and looked for it and I couldn't find. Maybe I'm blind I don't know. I don't have a credit card so I can't buy it online. Veronika did you actually see it in the store and if you did, what section was it in?

I'm sorry, I didn't want to ask anyone at the store because it was busy.

I happened to see this book the other day in Barnes & Noble and after a quick flip thru I had to get it on the spot. It might be fairly basic and a little on the simple side but there is good stuff in there. It has good suggestions about things like costumes, shaving, and being comfortable with your body. It is very clearly written and well presented, with a lot of good pictures. I liked the pole section a lot too--some of the tricks I already am doing but I'm still enough of a newbie that I can definately learn a lot from the material in there. The book was marketed toward non-dancer women who just want to learn erotic dance, but I agree with whoever said this book should be required for newbie dancers. A great bargain for $16.

Shayden, I saw it in the store in the exercise and fitness section. It was actually on the "new releases" table with the other books on fitness topics.

This book has taken off like wildfire since I brought it in to work! I'm constantly trying to track my copie down and three girls have bought copies for themselves!

Ok I had my Barnes and Noble order me a copy and I just got mine yesterday and it's really good. Like Bridgette said mainly geared towards housewives but the moves are good and would get a newbie way ahead. It has moves for transitioning from one move to another (also good for a newbie) and some pole tricks I didn't even know in there.

Malibu, it has how to slide down on two legs upside-down, it's relatively similar to the one-legged.

It's really good, I would recommend it.

I got it too! I can't wait to read it. I don't want to dhare it with my co-workers (yet). I got one for my sister in law too, even though she would never strip for anyone else except her hubbie. I hope she likes it and doesn't think it too strange a gift.

:yay: i say the author on Oparh also and I couldn't wait for it to come out. Awesome book for new dancers, yet some refreshers for veteran dancers like me. I actually had the book store near me order about 10 copies. I gave some out for Xmas presents to girls I really like and get along with. They loved it.
A must buy!!!! Wish I was in LA still, I'd take her class.
