Has anyone tried preperation H on the face or body? I've heard that it's good for puffyness, but I dunno... can anyone share their results?

Eyeliner and charisma go a long way!
I've heard that it works but I've been too embarrassed to go buy it
If you think school is hard, try being stupid.
It's an old models trick, it shrinks pores and tightens skin temporarily. Not to be used often, because it can cause stinging, and a rash.
It works, i tried it a few times. But is greasy, and stung. I could not wait to wash it off. A few people i danced with would be putting it on under the eyes for puffiness. I don't see how the makeup stayed on without tons of powder, it's greasy greasy!!!

I was just reading this in a book at the bookstore (I seem to use Barnes & Noble as a reading room, don't I). It said to leave it on for only a few minutes then wipe off the greasy excess with a tissue. That would make sense to me since I would think that makeup would slide right off otherwise.

Thanks Pamela.
I'm thinking of trying this to prepare for headshots, but I think I'll do a trial run first.

I'm the queen of puffy eyes.
I tried it and was not so impressed by it. I read somewhere recently that the puffiness is due to fluid distributing itself through the body evenly while one is laying down. propping your head up while sleeping helps reduce this.
Never take life seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway.
i have tried it, but there is a newer kind out. it is a gel formula and not greasy like the kind you guys are talking about. i think it is marketed under "cooling gel" formula.
I left the stuff on for 30 minutes each time. It works better if you are not under lights or anything that will make you sweat. Yes it does pull the skin in tightening it. But the uncomfortable feeling was hard to get used to along with a slight rash after washing it off.
Must put powder on over it, or you shine.

You're all right. Preparation H isn't just for Hemmoroids anymore LOL. You can use it for undereye puffyness. Not to be used to often though, since it is very drying of the skin. The eye area is sensitive and delicate enough. No need for extra abuse to that area.

I heard that the ingedient that really helps puffiness is no longer found in the formula sold in the US, but that the Canadian Prep H actually works on the puffiness...I'm sure someone less lazy than me can find out on the internet, that's where I read about is a few years ago.
Btw, Prep H is pretty good for after asssex soreness, even if you don't get hemorroids, that's what I used it for in the past, when I actually had that kind of sex more than once a year...meow!

Instead of Preparation-H, look for a product called Thiomucase. It's made for skin tightening, works way better than Prep-H and doesn't irritate the skin with repeated applications.
I use prep-h pretty often when I wake up with puffy eyes. I put it on when I wake up, and leave it on until I take my shower to get ready to do whatever I'm doing that day. Sometimes its on for 5 minutes and sometimes an hour. I've never had any irritation from it. It makes a small difference but don't expect any miracles.

well, this is good to know! I can't believe I never even made the connection! Duh.Originally Posted by Katrine link=board=5;threadid=5449;start=msg59099#msg59099 date=1072492696

I have had to use it for our family pitcures. I always have puffyness and/or dark circles under my eyes. I used P. H. Cooling Gel I never had a problem with it being greasy. It just takes a tiny bit and blot it under your eyes, let it dry and put your make-up on like usual. I never took the excess off didn't need to. and it never bothered me. hope this was some help.
OHMIGOSH! I posted another thread about this about a week ago... I have used it. Its a temporary quick fix and yes ladies, IT WORKS! For under the eyes, don't go over board, just a little bit goes a long way and it isn't very greasy if you use just a little bit... I use it (on the backs of my thighs) when I have retained water during that great visit from Aunt Flo and it works!!!!
