Happy birthday to my brother. He would have been 24 today had he not been killed by a drunk driver last April.
Be safe this new year.

Fawn,
Let me join you in wishing your brother a happy birthday. You must be missing him terribly, specially today. My sympaties.

Thank you. It has been hard. I've been crying all day. I'd like to bring him a gift. Something more then just a card and flowers, but the cemetary has rules about that. I miss him so much.

Its things like this is why I have not a shred of hesitation or guilt in stopping serving someone who I think is either on the verge of being drunk or has already past it.Originally Posted by Fawn link=board=1;threadid=5516;start=msg59509#msg59509 date=1072718547
Sadly, either because of their own fears or management pressures, far far too many purveyors of alcohol will not regulate how much their customers drink. Here in New Jersey, bartenders are personally and criminally responsible if someone they over served goes out and kills someone. That still doesn’t stop most of them.
Its a bartenders job to watch what his/her customers drink. Is it fun babysitting adults who in all reality should be responsible for their own actions? No it isn’t, but the consequences of not babysitting are deadly.
Fawn - if you would permit me, I can PM you and tell you about a website where you can post a tribute to your brother.

I'm with you. Fawn. I've had the misfortune of losing a sister, although not in the same manner as your brother. Have strength, lots of strengthOriginally Posted by Fawn link=board=1;threadid=5516;start=msg59509#msg59509 date=1072718547
