    Default Music Written for Stripping

From time to time I hear a song (genre not mattering) that it sounds like it was specifically written for stripping in Strip Clubs. Sometimes its the beat/rhythm, sometimes its the words, sometimes its both.

The new Nickleback song "Figure You Out" is a good example. Its almost like they got together and said "Lets make a song that will sound perfect in a Strip Club". Well...the song damn well does.

Anyone else experience this phenomena? Hear a song so perfect for the SC experience that it makes you wonder if it was written specifically with SCs in mind?

"Get Naked", by Methods of Mayhem, has to be about the best song I have heard yet for this. They have many other excellent tracks, including a very funny and very danceable song called "Fuck You"

Rob Zombie issued a CD called "American Made Music to Strip By" which is a collection of remixes of his classic tunes, akin to "Supersexy Swingin' Sounds". Both CDs are mixed with techno, but retain the heavy metal edge. Both are as good as you can get for stripclubs, so long as the dancers aren't accustomed to dancing to rap only, lol. Almost any Zombie song works very well for stripping, if you have a rock-oriented crowd and/or dancers.

There is the thoroughly played out "Perfect Gentleman", by Wyclef, which has great lyrics, but kind of a lame, frenetic beat, in my opinion.

"Girls, Girls, Girls" we are all sick to death of, lol. Why is it that some moron is still to this day coming up and requesting it?

Enigma and Lords of Acid (except that horrible "Show Me Your Pussy"), are great for stripping, but most DJs have only the overplayed songs by these groups--there are lots of other good tracks by both which will work quite well without eliciting groans of "THIS one again?!". "Stripper" by L of A, from the "Farstucker" CD, is pretty good, but there are three or four others from the same CD which are even better and have more powerful beats.

"Stripped" by Rammstein, a cover of a Depeche Mode song, is fantastic.

There are of course any number of rap songs with lyrics about women shaking their various parts for obviously appreciative males. Some are even good, and some even manage to avoid insulting the women in the process.

I tend to prefer by far the female rappers, such as Lil' Kim, Missy Elliot ("Work It" is perfect for stripping, but has been played to death), Trina, et al. Trina herself was a stripper, so she should know...

That version of "Brickhouse" is a song for stripping if I ever heard one...

Has anyone seen the movie? What happens when that song plays?

Suga Suga by Baby Bash and Frankie J. I would love to see a gal dance to this song.

You got me lifted shifted higher than a ceiling
And ooh wee it’s the ultimate feeling
You got me lifted feeling so gifted
Sugar how you get so fly?
Sugar sugar how you get so fly?
Sugar sugar how you get so fly?
Sugar sugar how you get so fly?
Sugar sugar how you get so fly?

You know its leather when we ride
    Wood grain and raw hide
Doing what we do, watching twins getting high
Gurl you keep it so fly with you sweet hunnybuns
You was there when the money was gone
You’ll be there when the money comes
Off top I can’t lie I love to get blowed
You my lil’sugar, I’m yo little chulo
And every time we kick it it’s off to the groovy
Treat you like my sticky ickey or my sweet oowy goowy (fa real though)

Okay okay, so it sounds like a song for stripping in Houston or San Francisco.

LOL I think at any given time this is being played in at least one SC somewhere in the world…along the same lines I seem to always hear Ludacris’ “Whats your fantasy.”

A lot of NIN seems to made for stripping…I would love to see someone dance to Evanescence “Taking over me” or “Surrender.”

Slippery, the best track on the Farstucker Cd is callled "Slave to Love", which is without a doubt one of the finest songs I have, by any band, for stripping, though I have yet to hear another DJ play it, and the reviews I have seen of this Cd ignore it. It should be mandatory listening for anyone who thinks of that stupid "Pussy" song when they hear the name "Lords of Acid", as it sounds nothing remotely like it.

"Rover Take Over" is a very hot dance song about doing it, you guessed it, doggystyle. It works very well if you have a "Naughty Little Pussycat" in the house--provided, of course, that she likes the song. VERY raunchy lyrics, which I'm not going to quote, but there is one bit you might want the DJ to talk over real quick for a bit to avoid offending sensitive customers. I have never had a problem when I just let it play, but you have been warned, lol.

The first song "Scrood By U" is sort of a take off of the Marilyn Monroe tune "I Wanna be Loved by You". It is a very hot song with a hardcore industrial/rock sound but has a slight bit of the angry girl sound to the vocals--some guys can't handle this, but if you are in a cool club it should go over quite well.

Oh c'mon! The Peter Gunn Theme off of the Blue's Brothers sountrack is a perfect example of music made especially for stripping!

Is that the one with Duane Eddy on guitar? I have played that many many times but unfortunately I got burned out on it because we used it six or seven times a night for the interminable T-shirt specials we had to do EVERY HOUR at one club I worked in for a while.

It's still a great song though. The version I have is from The Art of Noise (an eighties band), greatest hits--but the rest of the CD is not good for dancing.

Emerson, Lake & Palmer did a version of "Peter Gunn." I don't remember which CD it's on.

check out Ani DiFranco's 'Letter to a John'

"Don't ask me why i'm crying, i'm not going to tell you whats wrong, i'll just sit on your lap for 5 dollars a song...............................i'm just gonna take the money i make, and i'm gonna go away"

i love this song, very sad and sung very passionaitly, unfortunatly it is true about most dancers i have met, but not all, which is a common misconception with other ppl.

I like the Peter Gunn too...must be the sax, huh?

Speaking of sax, how about Morphine? The album is Yes and I'm thinking Scratch, Radar, or Had My Chance(if you can dance that slow).

My personal fav is the appropriately titled Super Sex. Anyone who has never heard a baritone saxophone before needs to hear this. Great sexy stuff IMHO.

As a customer/nondancer, I'm always into the music. I love it when dancers can work the offbeat stuff, non-overplayed. One of my favorites danced to Mudvayne's "Not Falling" and System of a Down's "Innervision." She knew she was taking a big risk getting in trouble with the managers, but she worked the hell out of it.
Other songs that I've liked are "Pardon Me," "Change (In the House Of Flies)"-- badass second song, "Thoughtless," "Schism," "Toxicity," anything by Disturbed, anything else by Korn. Yeah, all that stuff is relatively old, but still rocks. Mudvayne has some other stuff that I think would be great strip songs. I love ACDC's "She's Got You Buy The Balls," it's perfect! Has anyone ever tried "Millionaire" by Queens of the Stone Age?

I usually use any song off the evanessence cd, or bands like lacuna coil which are more gothic but have a beat that well some girls can just dance so well too. As far as girls girls girls goes I refuse to play it anymore, or anything by creed, both have been played far too much in my opinion.

I watched a girl dance to Metallicas' Turn The Page once. Gave me goosebumps. Started out sensual, with moments to get a little wild, man I loved that performace.

Now here my heres my list of Music meant for stripping but rarely used even though it should be.

    Violent Femmes- Gone Daddy Gone.

    Violent Femmes- Kiss Off.

Bowling for Soup- Girl All the Bad Guy's Want.

    J. Geils- Centerfold.

    J. Geils- Must of Got Lost.

    J. Geils- Love Stinks [ Not really meant for stripping but describes relationships of dancers and customers in life outside the club.]

(when I dance to Sweet Child, its also accompanied with November Rain and Yesterday or Welcome to the Jungle---welcome to the jungle being first, Sweet child second and November rain last)....
