Default breast reduction

I have 34DD natural breasts. i hate them. when i work it is just fine. but i have a life outside of work. i can not find things to wear. bras are expensive and incredibly painful. I look topheavy (again fine for work, not good for the real world). I feel i would look better and feel better with a C cup. I have already gone to the doctor and he told me that my insurence would pay for it all. I am worried about the scaring mostly. it would be all around the nipple and straight down the underside to my chest. A lift would be included so i wouldnt be so saggy and floppy, and i think my waist would show off better. I also think with smaller breasts i would be able to exersize easier. I hear that girls that get an enlargement have thier income go up 20%. I dont want my income to go down. But i might feel better. I will get a reduction someday. I just keep running into snags now. anyway, I want to know if anyone has ever had a reduction and danced afterward. or anyones thoughts on this. thank you.

Umm, my best friend had a reduction, but she was like, 15 when she had hers, then when she was 19 she started dancing. She was always overly aware of the scars on her breasts, they are much different with a reduction than with and enlargment. The scar went from the crease underneath up to the areola. Personally I never noticed it until she pointed it out.
The thing is, she still wasn't SMALL, just SMALLER than she was. I think her original size at 15 was a EE (ouch!) and she went down to a c, and she said she cried and cried afterwards because she thought she was too small! When she started dancing, she saw that her size was pretty much the same size the girls were going UP to! She was one of the better money makers, by the way. I think you would do great because you will feel comfortable and move easier.

I had a breast reduction when I was 12. Yes, 12. So you can imagine how big I was to need to have it done so young. I couldn't even tell you a cup size, because I could never even FIND bras in my size. I am 100% glad I had it done. 90% of the scars completely faded bythe time I was 16. My incisions got infected and they had to remove about a quarter-size piece of skin on each breast along the bottom fold, but that is rare and I didn't take good care of them, so those scars are still a light brown color, but as I said above, the rest of them now look fine. But, they did take about four years to fade completely the natural way, so I would recommend using a skin lightening cream once the incisions turn into scars -- that's what I'm doing. Also, make sure to keep the surgical tape on them for the entire length of time your surgeon says to -- mine rubbed off on the ends of the breast-fold incisions, and I didn't bother to get it replaced, so now those scars are darker than the rest.

I have a link somewhere with information on scar removal and skin lighteners, I'll post it once I find it.

I can't help you re: dancing after a reduction, as I have not yet begun my dancing career, but most docs recommend against doing any strenuous activity for about two weeks post-op.

Yikes! Sorry if this comes off as incoherent rambling -- I just took a sleeping pill. *sigh* Time for bed.... Hope I helped.

Yikes! A breast red op at 12?! Crikey! That's a nightmare!

Ami, a breast reduction with an "anchor lift" is going to leave some SERIOUS scars. I would wager to say that your ability to dance nude is going to be compromised for at least a year after having such a surgery, possibly forever, due to the huge scars which will be left after the plastic surgeon removes such a significant amount of skin from your breasts. As such, I'd put off any thoughts of a breast reduction until you're ready to retire from dancing.

If your concern is mostly lack of firmness / sagging, there is another option which would improve this situation without resulting in major scarring. This option would allow you to return to dancing within a month or so. This option would also not reduce your dancing income, and possibly increase it. The option I'm talking about is to have some breast tissue removed, but NOT have any breast skin removed, and then have implants placed inside the breasts to take the place of the removed tissue. This would go a long way to rounding out and firming up your breasts again while you continue to dance, and would get one half of the breast reduction procedure out of the way prior to your retirement (when you will want to have the implants and some breast skin removed).

Also, having DD implanted breasts versus having DD natural saggy breasts makes a world of difference in regards to the perceived weight of the breasts. DD implanted breasts would also be much less of an obstacle when working out since the implants are much easier to support with a sports bra.

your scarring depends much on your doctor and your skin type and how you care for your boobies after surgery i.e people with darkers skin are likely to get scarred more than a person with lighter skin...i had a reduction and went back to work a month after my surgery so it all depends on how fast you heal..also its up to you to you to choose what you wanted personally i rather had maller boobs and no back pain in exchange for a few scars than over having back pain everyday.....also there is a scareless breast reduction where they reduce your bust size by just liposuctioning the fat from your boobs but this depends on how big your boobs are and what size you want to go down to....yes breast reduction does make your waist and body overall appears smaller and if thats you in the pic i doubt that you will get scarred really bad but its up to you ....i made the decision to do it and i wished i had done it sooner

thank you all. If i got implants my insurece wouldnt pay for it and I can not afford it on my own, plus one of my major goals is to be able to buy normal bras. 34DD is very hard to find. however 34C is fairly common. And that is me in the pic, i am ghostly pale and really dont tan very well. (<G>if i am really close to a blacklight, like 2 or 3 feet, i will glow slightly) I have some scars that I have had for some time but i dont think anyone can see them even in good light unless i point them out. I hear vitamin E helps reduce scars. If I could work in a true bikini club where i could wear a top i would go do it anyway, but I have never seen a place like that. If you have to have your nipple covered it is latex or those sticker thingys or pasties, not a whole top.

Here is the link I mentioned in my last reply (in fact, I think I found it here in the first place!)

http://www.justbreastimplants.com/su..._self_help.htm

I know it says "implants" in the URL, but it's about scars of all kinds.

ami beein that you are so "pale" as you call it ...it would be very hard for you to get a very noticeable scars i mean if you get a good doctor and take care of your suture(sp) i doubt you'd be able to see the scars yourself...they have these silicone thingies that you use after the surgery i hear that the help alot when it comes to reducing scars ...i hear vitamin e is good also mederma though i've never used mederma ...the trick is to get a really good doctor look at their before and ask lots of questions and be sure to choose a doctor you feel comfortable with ....also cheaper is not always better.. good luck

cost dosnt matter as my insurence will pay for it all since i have shoulder pain. but they only support a few doctors. so if i dont like him, then i have to move to get a diffrent choice. I just made an appt to talk to the surgen on feb 4th we'll see how it goes...
