    Default Thigh Highs?? Help!

OKay... So... I've been doing a lot of floorwork and it's totally rubbed my knees raw... One of the girls at work suggested Thigh Highs... BUt, my question is, I have somewhat big thighs... and I've never been able to find any that don't "roll" a little at the top... Other than a garter belt... Is there any type that doesn't do this? (ie, can I use regular ones, like, at WalMart with the little "rubber" edging around the inside that helps keep this from happening..) or what?? Or, would it look totally terrible if I just bought some and let them roll a little...? Help!!! I am totally clueless...! You all must think I am a complete idiot... LOL

The kind you get from a dancer store are a lot different then the kind you get at wal-mart. They probly wont give you this problem. Also the is probly less of a chance of this happening with the kind with lace at the top. Another trick to helping them stay up is to spray plain old hair spray on your legs when using them. I dont know if this will prevent rolling, but it helps to keep them from sliding down. Try it and see. Let me know if it works.

Yep, thigh highs are your very best friend! Get the Leg Avenue ones and they usually won't roll and they stay up independantly. I run and ride horses, I'm an expert on big thighs!

I got a pair from leg avenue that have a satin "ruffle" around the top with a little bow, the ruffle totally helps keep um where they belong!

also, dont overmoisurize or use too much "product"(faketan, firming lotion, body oil..) on the area where the rubber holdup is..it sticks best to clean dry skin..x

First off, thigh highs will always have either a little silicone grip band inside them or a thicker band at the top to hold on to your thighs. If it just has a plain nylon band at the top, it's just a regular stocking and won't stay up without garters or a garter belt.

For big thighs, I recommend going to Frederick's or Victoria's Secret, where they sell sized thigh highs - you can buy an extra-large size that won't pinch your legs or roll over at the top. Also, the extra material means that they aren't stretched as tightly around your leg and won't snag or run as easily.

Stockings are really sexy - I own a ton. Get ready to get addicted.

ive had that problem too. lots of good advice here!

i also tend to have a problem of thigh highs only being...well, over the knee highs. they will literally come just over my knee, and will stop there. im not tall, im 5'6", but for my height, i am pretty leggy, most of my height is leg height.

do they have thigh highs for cases like that??

I was wondering does anyone have these?..do these stay up and since they are lace up?..can't you adjust the size for thighs? They have these on ebay in white..black and i think red. seems like these would last a long time..these are cotton and i have seen some are velour/velvet. they run like 9.99 on ebay up to 13.99..I feel less vulnerable if I have thigh highs on or tall boots..is that weird? I want these really bad..i hope these aren't crap..

those boots are kick-ass! Wonder if they'd fit me--I can NEVER buy boots cuz I'm completely disproportioned--my feet are long and narrow, my legs are really long and really thin up until the mid-thigh and then they're huge. Are these stretchy as well as being lace-up? If so, I might be able to get 'em too!!!

These are not boots...just thigh high stockings thats why they are so cool..The model has black shoes on which makes them blend and looks like boots . But yup these are "lace up stockings". I think these would be super versatile if a person had several colors of them. I went to ebay and found more info on them:

    THIS IS FROM A SELLER:

"You are bidding for a Very original Pair of Stockings with Lace up Back. This item is very stretchy, it has lace up on either leg. Coupled with the Lace up Back Hot Pants (Not included) makes either a fantastic Lingerie item or great clubbers set. The material is very soft. This particular Line is made by Leg Avenue and the Quality is excellent"

looks like these are wash and wear..like our dresses and stuff..and no RUNS!!

I have several pairs of those thigh-highs and they rule! They are very thick and look like you're wearing boots.

back to the thigh high question, the best pair that ive ever had was from victorias secret. they looked great, stayed up by themselves, didnt roll up, and they didnt squeeze my thighs too tightly either.

I bought those and wore them once or twice, then the grommets (which the laces go through) started coming out. I bought another pair and the same thing happened. They might be okay forwearing to a bar to stand around in, but not sturdy enough to dance in. I was disappointed too because they are sexy.

I sell Leg Avenue in my store. They are good stockings. I also have them sized in one size and queen size. Tall people or people with bigger thighs would find the queen size ones more comfortable. Hope this helps you!

Caveat on thigh highs, I wore them for the first time on stage the other day, and they got holes in the knees by the second song! So if you do lots of floorwork don't bother, it was so embarassing!
