Default What is the average size city/town where you work ?

Are most or all of the strippers who are members here work in clubs in towns that have populations greater than 200,000 ? Do any of you work in towns where the population is less than 100,000 ? Do you know any stripper friends who do ? Despite the fact I live only 2 or 3 blocks from 2 clubs , I have never visited them , so I am not sure what type of girls work in small town clubs. I imagine the job is not as well paying as compared to say working in NYC , LA , ect.

I've danced in cities with a population of 7 million, and in towns with a population of 7,000. With the exception of the very upper crust "show clubs" which are only found in the largest cities, I have found that earnings potential in clubs usually has very little correlation to the size of the surrounding population. Instead, it seems to be correlated to the general economic/business level of the area. It's also highly correlated to how "comfortable" the club is in relation to local laws and law enforcement.

Does your monicker refer to the fact that you live in Utica, NY ? I've actually danced in that city, and enjoyed it a lot. From what I remember, the earnings potential was well below that of the upper crust "show clubs" in NYC, but the hustle factor was much much lower as well. Dancers and customers could actually have fun ! Also if I remember correctly there were a few girls working in the club who could have easily qualified to work in an upper crust "show club" in NYC, but they were happy living and working in Utica.

The biggest factor I remember is that the clubs in Utica seemed to have an accepted relationship with local politicians and cops along the lines of Sgt. Schultz of the old Hogan's Heroes TV show, "I know nothing, NOTHING!". This made for a business climate where the customers were totally comfortable in the club, which is a major plus compared to other cities where customers and dancers have to constantly look over their shoulder for undercover cops.

You also need to keep in mind that not every dancer is willing to travel all over the state or country in search of the highest earnings. Some girls are completely comfortable working in a club close to where they grew up or where they're going to school. Therefore you can't make the assumption that dancers in smaller city clubs aren't as beautiful or as talented as dancers in huge cities. But an assumption that you can make is that stunningly beautiful girls from other parts of the state/country are not likely to travel to a smaller city club.

There's also an issue of net cost of living differences between big cities and small cities. This means that when you compare the earnings potential of an upper crust big city "show club" plus the average cost of renting an apartment, transportation, cost of necessities etc. in that big city, to the earnings potential of a smaller city club with much lower costs for rent, transportation and other necessities, that the bottom line might not be tremendously different. If you then throw in progressive income tax rates which take a much bigger "bite" out of the big city earnings, there's even less difference in the amount of money left over for savings and investments. Plus, frankly, there's usually a lot NOT to like about living in a huge city - most notably the pace of everything being too damn fast, people usually being much less friendly, safety issues when travelling home at 3am etc.

However, for girls who are shooting for maximum earnings potential, and who are willing to work their tails off 5 or 6 nights a week, and who are willing to live a hassle-filled huge city life outside of the club, the upper crust "show clubs" in the huge cities offer unparalleled earnings potential.

It depends on the city. I near a medium/large city now and travel to work in a club in a small town, where I would estimate the population as under 30,000. But, it's a small town where the steel industry is on the rise, and the average working joe often has money to burn.

I have worked Miami, millions! Suburb Ft. Lauderdale where the population is an estimate of around 200,000 easy.

Where i work/live now Space coast including all the cities, close to 200, 000 as well.

Never worked a small area before while club dancing.

I currently work club bookings in smaller towns such as Watertown SD, population 25,000, Fargo ND, pop 145,000, Billings MT, pop 130,000, and numerous others in the upper Midwest with populations varying from 13,000- 50,000, even a few with a 1000-4000 population.

It just depends on the club and how it is run as to the appearance of the dancers in a smaller town. Where I work many of the dancers are road girls from larger surrounding cities or big metro areas. The road girls get paid $300-$450 a week for working 6 nights from 5 until closing plus tips of course so pretty girls are in the mix in these clubs. they work here to avoid so much competition in the big cities.

A city in the 100,000-300,000 range is large enough to have a pool of pretty dancers if the clubs are run right and many cities like that have pretty girls. The Northern in Fargo ND, Scarlett O'Haras in Sioux Falls SD, Teasers in Sioux City IA, Showgirls and Brandy's in Ft. Wayne IN, Platinum Cabaret in Yuma AZ, to name a few have pretty girls on a regular basis. Other clubs have pretty girls off and on depending on who is booked that week.

You just have to go to the various clubs several times and see for yourself. I make more money CONSISTENTLY in Watertown SD with 25,000 people than when I work in Houston and other major metro areas because there are often as many or more dancers than customers and in the smaller clubs with 4-6 girls the money doesn't come in large chunks as often but with less girls to choose from and lots more customers than dancers plus with going on stage more, it is often easier to connect with the guys, get stage tips everytime you go on stage and a larger percentage of guys buy several dances. The money is steady. You might get $80- $100 in stage tips, sell 12 dances to 5 guys, plus get paid $66 a day from the club, which comes to over $300 a night.

In a big city fancy club if you don't land several guys who will spend $150 or more on you you won't make anything for a night.

Plus in the most upscale clubs where the girls have to pay $100 plus to work plus tip out more, you will be pressured to spend more money and your stage tips or purchase of 2 floor dances won't be appreciated as much as in the small town club where the girls have small tip outs. A regular customer in these clubs is given more time by his favorite girl and if he tips her $5 on stage and buys 3 dances everytime he comes in he will be treated well and those kinds of guys usually come back more frequently than the big spenders who usually don't live in town.

All that glitters is not gold and all small clubs aren't good. Some will surprise you though.

Let us know how the ones in your town are.

I worked in a fairly large town in the Santa Barbara county California area. It was another town outside of the actual Santa Barbara city itself. So it's easy to say it's a town I guess. I worked during the week on night shift and did great! It was the only strip club there and it was very very small but I did very very well however!
