I was really curious of those who actually takes the free classes at your gym? I've always wanted to, but my stripper hours dont mesh alot of times with the classes and I dont want to flake on the instructor. But now I only work the weekend and I think it would be fun to go in early and try some of them out. Maybe it would be an oppertunity to meet some nice people too since i'm new to Florida. So does anybody take classes? I'm really wanting to take the kick boxing class and yoga. Maybe 1 or 2 spin classes a month. Can anyone give me any kind of info on what to expect for my first class or how you liked the class you tried. Any info would be kick ass!!

I am a member of the Pro health and fitness gym at the hospital i work at, but don't go on a regular basis, gee maybe 3 times last year. I do lots of walking, dancing at home in front of the mirror, stretching and lifting fairly light barbells, and own an ab roller.

Thats about it. I weigh in at 154 at 5'8", and don't want to lose it, just keep it toned.

I don't stick to any plan, just do as i please when i exercise. Except 30 minutes of walking is the only plan i do stick to, about 4 times a week.

I take karate and jujitsu but not at a gym. Both are excellent for all around body fitness. The difference between an actual martial art class and say Tae Bo is that martial arts concentrate more on form while exercise classes simply emphasize the aerobic portion of it. Both are good body builders.

I go to yoga at a local center. They have morning and afternoon classes, so I can go before work. The cooldown is so long and relaxing that it makes it easier to bear going into work....

I took yoga. I didn't really take it seriously and it was really boring. I became only a little more flexible, but personally I think I would have done better with something more lively, fun and energetic. There were a lot of times I actually fell asleep. Very relaxing if thats what you want, but still too boring for me.

Actually, I'm headed to the local Y today to check out what kind of yoga classes they might be offering. My problem is, I'm not really going to be working in Wisconsin anymore, so I'll be traveling alot. Hard to stick with classes (obviously) when you're always on the road, but if I finally find a couple of good clubs, and work every other week, that might be a plausible schedule. I have a yoga book for at home, but I'd really like to take a few classes to set me in the right direction.

I always thought that it would be fun to take an aerobics or kickboxing class, but the problem is that most of the classes are too damn early for me. I'm not a morning person at all, especially after working or partying all night. Spinning never interested me, because my legs are muscular already and riding a bicycle tends to make them too bulky. So I mainly walk on my treadmill at home for exercise and lift these 5-pound dumbbells that I have to keep my arms toned. It's convenient, I don't have to pay anything, and I can do it on my own time.

I joined a gym once specifically for the yoga classes. They were on at 1pm twice a week so the time was perfect! The instructor was great and it was a fantastic 'powerful' class (yoga differs so much). If they have classes at the right times its great, if not its just a drag and you probably won't end up going. Just use you first class as a 'trail' class and have fun, if you like it great, if you don't then you don't need to go back. I felt I was making the most of my membership when I attended a few classes.
