    Default Another Vegas question

    Hey guys,

I'm also going to Vegas on the 19th and have a few questions on clubs and hustling tips. I read all the responses that ParisLove recieved and want to know the best approach for customers. I've worked in a couple of different in Ny and Nj and learned that if the club is topless or go-go chances are that sitting down and chatting for a while kinda goes without question. I've also worked in Stilleto in upstate and found that no one is really there to sit and talk all they want are dances. What's the deal with Vegas clubs? I'm still kind of new to this business but most Manhattan clubs are pretty slow now (not to mention that the house fees are hurting me) and the weather is brutal.

Also, which shifts are good to work? I'm more of night owl but will get up early if I know the earning potential is better. Which clubs are better to work in than others?

in a nutshell, most of the Vegas clubs will resemble Stiletto contact levels but will also sell alcohol. This means that customers will want to down a drink or two, and then go after your boobs !

Vegas is very slow now also. The fees are pretty much high in Vegas as well depending on the club. You might want to think if it really is worth coming out here with hotel, flight, etc. A girl I met at my club was from NY (Penthouse Executive Club) and she was furious and only worked 1 day and said she would never come back. Apparently she didnt make $ here and actually lost $ by coming all the way out to Vegas. The only low contact club in Vegas is Club Paradise and if you dont look like a supermodel then forget about auditioning there. There is no variety, every single girl looks exactly the same. Everywhere else in Vegas is saturated with girls. Last weekend there was 400+ girls working on my shift, now granted that was more than normal because of CES but not by much. Usually there is atleast 200 girls every weekend and as far as I know most of the major clubs are the same. Just some things to think about. Hope that helps!

Personally, I felt like I was making bank during CES. I felt that the hustle was very easy, and $1000 a night is not impossible during the conventions. I'm a low contact girl working in a high contact club, and it is working out for me.

This week is very slow and am making about half of what I did during CES, but compared to Oregon standards, that is very, very good. I think the difference is that in Oregon we have to hustle our butts off just to make $300-400 on a weekend night, and you are completely exhauted by the end of your shift as the clubs are slow and the dances are complete air, so it is pretty rare to get more than one table dance per customer. Here in Vegas, it is like hustling is tough for VIP, but the floor dances are easy enough to get and I'm staying pretty busy all night.

I guess what I'm saying is that Vegas history is that of easy money, and the customers want more for their money these days, but that doesn't mean the money isn't there. It is just a matter of how good of a salesperson you are, and how far you are willing to go to get the cash.

If you are going to come out, stay for a while and make it worth the trip. I'm staying a month so I can try different clubs, and have a chance to do some tourist activities too.

And just to let you know, right now the sun is shining and it is about 67 degrees out. I don't miss the rain and snow at home one little bit

So I guess straight up if you aren't earning $500+ a night at home, are a really a good hustler, and are comfortable with contact, or neogotiating contact rules with your customers, you can enjoy your working expeierence here in Las Vegas. But a word of warning, this place is not for a shrinking violet, and you really need to be able to shake off rejection not just from the customers, but from the clubs as well. There are way too many girls trying to get work at the low contact clubs, so if you aren't playboy perfect (and I'm not) good luck getting a decent shift, if you get one at all. Treasures has so many girls this week, they wouldn't even talk to me about day shift.

I also wanted to comment that I didn't find the house fees to be all that high. The highest fee at Spearmint Rhino was $65 for weekend nights, and the higher contact clubs the fee is even less. you have a few people to tip out, but I always go on a percentage, so it is always fair. At home the fees are $20 for weekend nights, Plus a minimum tip to the DJ of $10 as well as $10 to each of two bouncers ( and that is just the minimum) and the earning potential isn't nearly as good there.

Okay, I have taken up enough space on this board. I hope this helps you to decide if this trip is worth your while to come out to Vegas. If nothing else come out for a vacation and work a couple of days to see if you like it or not. If not, you are on vacation, and you can just go see a show or play some black jack and have fun!

    Good luck, ParisLove

yet another example supporting the theory that the US strip club industry is slowly migrating toward the European "two extremes" business model, with a handful of low contact "show clubs" still offering good earnings potential, but only for girls who are the "best of the best" in regard to appearance, and with the balance of other clubs being overwhelmed with more average looking girls who are forced to compete on the basis of higher contact/extras in order to earn decent money.

In regard to Paris' post, I have personally worked in clubs she has worked in and she is a very honest poster. She is not one to bullshit you about earnings and I respect her for that.

I lived and worked in Vegas about 4 years ago for about 5 months and Paris is right on about going there and staying for a while.

I work in the Upper Midwest in booking clubs and quite honestly most dancers are looking for easy money. As the sales professional Joe Girard says " The elevator to success is out of order. You have to take the stairs one step at a time." There is no easy money and the business is about the same everywhere, more girls trying to make money than there are guys wanting to spend it on them, especially where the "potential" for high earnings exist. And just because the "potential" exists doesn't mean you won't have any $100 days. Your friend may have made $100 for 2 days and then hit $1000 the next 2 but she didn't stay long enough to give it a chance.

I never go on the road for less than 4 weeks at a time. You will ALWAYS lose money. I learned that quickly. No matter where you go you will have slow days. You have to weather the slow ones to get to the good ones. Nowadays girls who try to travel like upper level corpoprate execs in this business will be in the hole more times than not. In Vegas you will have to get hired at a club first and get a Sheriffs card which might take 3-4 days. There is a different manager on each shift in the clubs and they refer to the girls on their shifts as "their" girls. You may have to go from shift manager to shift manager to get hired, and once you do get hired, get used to the flow of things. meaning you may very well have to work a few shifts making little of nothing until you get the hang of things. And there is way more competition working with mass amounts of dancers.

On the plus side, there are many extended stay suites there which are have a full bedroom and full kitchen for around $250 a week, such as Budget Suites. Town and Country, etc. And if you rent a car at a decent rate rather than ride in cabs and buy groceries most of the time and eat in your suite, and work full time for a month, the money should work out for you. The suites there don't provide bedding or a microwave, and charge extra for them so if you ship your own bedding and buy a microwave at Wal Mart for $30 you can take your time there without a lot of money pressure.

I wouldn't try to compare the money to New York, but as long as you make enough of a profit after your airfare to cover your bills and accomodations you haven't lost anything and you gained a new experience under your belt. Who knows how well you might do. As long as you manage your expenses well the worst that can happen won't be all that bad. And you might do really well.

Just giving you my take on the situation.

I agree with Tina. The hustle out here is super extreme and the rejection is constant. It can be tough to keep a good attitude. At least it is possible to make money if you really know how to spot a potential good customer and know how to make the sale. It is definately not a "wanna dance" town. It can also be very tough trying to get guys into VIP. A lot of dancers come here from out of state and they don't know how to give a Vegas style dance. A lot of customers that I have talked to feel like they have been ripped off in VIP by getting the exact same low level contact dance that they would on the main floor. It's a very tough place to work but it's possible to do well or walk out with $100 or less.
