Default What REALLY happens on Amatuer night?

Was wonderin cuz I think Im gonna need to go and dance sometime on amatuer night, what do the girls do?

Do they just dance around topless, do they actually take their bottoms off too? I guess it would depend on the club? Do many of the girls you see 'jumpin up there' wear sexy outfits easy to remove or are they wearing their regular Friday or Saturday night outfits?

Do amatuers actually have some knowledge or are they typically wild women that get up there as if its a "girls gone wild" video?

They follow the normal rules of the club, although I've seen amateur nights where the girls are too nervous to take off their tops. Its also different to see girls stripping out of street clothes which happens at some amateur nights.

A caveat is that a lot of "amateurs" are dancers from other clubs either auditioning or trying to pick up some quick prize money. So, not all amateurs are sweet innoncent fresh faced girls right off the bus.

BTW, nice time-lapse in your avatar.

Ohhh, I see...hmmm, that is pretty intimidating seeing as how the only knowledge I have about stripping or dancing is from lurking and posting here....

Hmmm, any ideas of the sort of thing I should or should not do or wear?

I really really really want to do it but Im really really really afraid of looking STOOP!

my first time dancing ever was on amateur night....it was scary!

I didn't know what I was doing and was very shy and awkward and of course, I didn't win.

Are you trying to win prize money or get hired? the amateur night crowd was very intimidating for me.

As for what you wear, just a sexy outfit that you can get out of easily should be suficient.

Well I want to go on Amatuer night because I have always been curious about how I might like to dance infront of others. Typically, I seem to enjoy putting myself on display cuz usually when I go out with friends, I wind up in a bar where hangin out on top of the bar, topless is allowed. I did that a few times at a bar in the city and I had an absolute ball! To me it was very exhilerating to be up above all of the people, struttin around with no shirt or bra on, but I realize that a strip club could be very different than Hog n Heffers (thats where I went). It would be cool to I guess win a few bucks but at this point I think it would be purely a fun thing....but I guess it could create a monster! Lol!

I have seen them fall, run off stage and get down right nasty on amateur night. I admit i don't watch much, these ladies are nervous, and alot of people do yell out nasty words at times.

It can be great, or suck. Key is to block out the audience. Tough but get involved with yourself, screw them.

Wow Pam I can't believe some people would yell nasty things, the first night I ever danced was an amateur night and the audience was very polite, most of the girls were scared and didn't know what to do but I had fun at mine. I've never been to one where the audience was mean.

Pure Platinum had an amateur night from time to time, and some guys would pretty much boo some dancer's trying out off the stage. It sucked, no one stopped them. Then you had the crowd that would just kinda "not" say or do anything.

I felt bad for some of the ladies. It's tough for some to get up there and just do your thing. Takes lots guts, and a woman who seems to be comfortable with her body to show what she has, running the risk of rejection.

    More power to ALL them!

Wow! Im slightly scared *but* I think I would probably go with a few guy friends. That way even if no one else cheers for me, I know they will be cheering cuz they'll get to see some meat thats otherwise always clothed. Illl have my little cheerleading section, although I will be hurt if I get BOO'ed!

What happens all depends on the club you go to. I'd suggest going and watching an amateur night before you enter one...that way you know what to expect. That's what I did. Yes, definitely bring friends!!! Also, I find that if you go there early, schmooze with the customers (tell them that you're doing the amateur thing, you're nervous, and you need some support from the crowd), and talk to and TIP the dancers, everyone will root for you. Where I go, the whole thing is very positive and friendly. I've made friends with the people that work at the club so I feel safe and confident. Just go and have fun. Don't psych yourself up too much though--you don't want your feelings to get hurt if you lose. Good Luck, and have fun!

In many places the dancers who show up for amateur night are strippers working somewhere else nearby looking to pick up some extra bucks. So depending on the place, you could be the only real amateur there. if you're nervous about it, you might consider just going to a club and asking to try out when the place isn't very busy.

I'm surprised nobody has addressed this so far in this thread, but many of these contests are, to put it bluntly, rigged. This isn't always the case, but I've seen it happen way too many times in a variety of different clubs to where it's not an isolated thing.

The typical "Amateur Night" is where you will find the contestants are usually:

50% real "amateurs" or girls very new to dancing
    10% dancers from other clubs
20% dancers from other clubs who have done several amateur nights and done well in them.
20% dancers from the hosting club

Anyone who has been involved with these will notice that almost always, the 1st place winner is a girl working in the hosting club. Of course this is never advertised, and yet it's usually true. 2nd place is typically a dancer from the hosting club or another club who happens to really do a good job. Sometimes better than the 1st Place girl. 3rd place is usually a true "amateur" so th that the event doesn't look gimmicked.

The reasons for this are many. By attracting girls in from other clubs, it brings in more business to their club from the other one. The true amateurs are the main draw of the event, and they also bring all their friends to watch and provide moral support. These combinations provide a substantial drop in the bar take that night. Obviously Amateur Nights are usually done on the slowest night of the club to draw business in much the same way a "Happy Hour" does or "Ladies Night" in a regular bar. The main reason the clubs like their house girls to win is, well, they are house girls. I know of at least one occasion where I know an "Amateur Night" was won by a girl who happened to tip out a manager really well the night before.

Again, I want to say that this isn't always the case and some clubs do honestly run a legit contest, although it's been my experience that it's the exception to the rule.

when i was a waitress in a club. all the waitresses took turns doing amatuer night. not that we were made to do them, but the dancers and management were always encouraging us to do it. as far as i knew it was honest, none of our dancers were participating. but the waitresses would win everynight but once that i can remember. another factor that helped us was that the waitress dancing as well as the other ones on that night would chat with customers and be like "she's considering doing amatuer night, what do you think, you're gonna cheer for her right?"

the thing that would suck was for the $300 prize winners were supposed to get they'd give us about $100 cash then and then put an extra $200 on your paycheck, which sucked because if you didn't work there you would get all $300 that night....but maybe that's why waitresses would win, cuz the club didn't want to pay out $300 all at one time.

they dont always have house girls in amature nights. i have been in 3. the first two i really was sorta amature the last one was an amature/audition night and i was looking for a job. The first one a girl who just got hired that night as a waitress won, mostly because the scoreing was based on the audiece giving special "voteing" dollars and she had earilier in the night to talk up her votes. that sucked. the second one had all amatures/semi amatures and I actually won because it was based on a scoreing system between the management. They said i made good eye contact. at the audition night contest there was one other girl and she told me she was scared because she saw my performence but she ended up winning anyway. I think because she had a better body. but it might have been because she knew someone or maybe they were trying to lure her to work there. i dont know.

ask the manager what is allowed, sometimes you cant do what the other girls do because you dont officialy work there. and the watching an amature night first is a good idea too.

I agree with dancer wealth that a lot of the amatuer nights are sometimes fixed. One of the last ones I went to had all but two girls that were "really" amatuers. The two girls that won both had about ten guys and girls each to cheer them on and of course that's how they won, based on their friends applause. Some of these dancers do this from club to club every month to get the $$ and I guess they give their friends some of the $$
