    Default Who you are.

Polecat suggested I start up a separate thread for this. I brought up the Myers-Briggs Personality Type Indicator test in the me-so-lonely personals ad "Horny as I am" thread. There is a free online version of the test at: http://www.humanmetrics.com/cgi-win/JTypes1.htm

A few things about the test before you take it.

    1) There are no right or wrong answers. Just answer honestly and the test will indicate what your personality type is.

    2) When in doubt on how you'd answer a question, go with your gut feeling. Go ahead and take a moment to think about it. It isn't a timed test. Just don't skip a question.

    3) Similiar to Point #1, there are no good or bad personality types. What the test is meant for is for you to better understand who you are. It's a mirror. It only reflects what you give it. How much you get out of the test is how honest you were when you took it and how much you research what the results are. If this really interests you, I suggest you read "Please Understand Me" by David Keirsey and Marilyn Bates. That's a good book written for the general public about Jungian theory, the test, and what the test results mean.

    4) The test has standed up to a lot of critiques and done very well. Surprisingly well. This upsets some who are not Jungians. I, myself, am a behaviorist (i.e., we're all just animals), but I do find value and merit in this Jungian test. I know it has enabled me to better understand myself, my family, friends, co-workers, and pretty much anyone ... as well as what jobs are best for me, why I react the way I do to certain situations, why I'm attracted to certain personality types, and a whole list of things.

Now if people want to post what their scores are, I'm willing to give an unofficial off-the-cuff reading of them and answer any questions you might have. Having a psychology degree, I might as well put it to some good use. I've also administered the original Myers-Briggs Personality Type Indicator test and am quite familiar with it and Jungian theory.

Oh, the idea why I brought up the test was a proposal I made about starting up a new forum for personals. That why those who dream of dating a stripper can post them there and not bother this or the other forums at Stripper Web. In other words, a nice little blackhole that the lonely can post to and which we can ask the moderators to send personal ads to that appear in the rest of the forums.

Lastly, as it might be a question some might have, my personality type is prototype ENTP. I scored very strong on each of those letters.

    I'm curious....

what is the point of all this? Is this for your TV show? Are you even recruiting for your TV show or just curious about dancers (FYI, if you are trying to learn something about all dancers by using stripperweb dancers as your sample, your results will be skewed)

Polecat suggested I start up a thread for it and thus I did. As for what's the point of it, there isn't really much of one. It is a topic that I've found interesting and have found others to find it likewise. I thought people here might also be interested and offered to help interpret results if they so wished. No biggie.

Nope. The show is a panel discussion talk show. I won't be administering the test to anyone that appears on it.

I'm not really expecting to recruit guests for the show by way of this forum. The show has a limited budget at this time so we cannot fly in and house guests. Instead, we'll initially be getting all our guests locally. Now if someone wants to travel to be on the show, that's different and we'd welcome it. However, we're not holding our breath hoping that happens.

But I am curious about dancers. That's why I want them on my show as guests. As one talk show host told me: "Nothing hurts a talk show more than a half-interested host." Because of this, the only guests I'm having on my show are those I'm interested in talking to. My guest booker completely agrees with me on this and thus I lay down who I want and she works to get them for me.

First, this thread is just idle fun for me. I enjoy psychology and talking about it. That's why I have a degree in psychology. It's an interest of mine. Now any question asked will be answered seriously ... saying the question is serious. It's just that I hate to be all business all the time.

Second, I am fully aware about how to properly do surveys and know that replies in this thread are statistically meaningless. However, I didn't start up this thread as some form of a survey or even to better understand strippers with. It stemmed out of a suggestion I made on what to do with those that post personal ads to this forum and then Polecat suggested I branch part of what I wrote into a separate thread thus the origins of this one.

Third, as for me learning more about strippers via this forum, I'm doing that in other threads, such as the ones about veteran strippers and stripper owners of strip clubs. Those kind of threads are of value.

Emily- the thread that test transmorphed into can be found at:
    http://www.stripperweb.com/forum/ind...;threadid=5647

Rather than seeing that rather lamo thread by some "ex chippendales" guy trying to scam dancers of their phone numbers and email addresses (lol) get bumped to the top by people trying/interested in the test, it really should be in it's own thead (here).

If anything, the various goofy internet tests are a mild distraction and entertaining tidbit of conversation.

    My score was-

Ok, Polecat, is there anything specific you want to know about your personality type or how it relates to something? Or are you just posting your score to add to the fun?

We all imagine ourselves the agents of our destiny, capable of determining our own fate. But have we truly any choice in when we rise, or when we fall, or does a force larger than ourselves bid us our direction. Is it evolution that takes us by the hand, does Science point our way, or is it God who intervenes keeping us safe.

So much struggle for meaning, for purpose. And in the end, we find it only in each other. Our shared experience of the fantastic. And the mundane. The simple human need to find a kindred, to connect. And to know in our hearts... that we are not alone.

    Hi,
    I'm ENFP 33 22 22 33
I'd like to know a little more about what this means as people tell me I frequently overanalize a situation, and think the worst if I don't find out truths. I think I just have a very lively imagination.
It does sometimes get me into trouble. Some family members and my ex tell me " why are you always so negative". How can I lose that outlook on life?
    Thanks.

Ok, i am an ENFJ. Strongest for me is being intuitive, then extroverted and feeling the same, and last judging.

I had hit mostly No's. But i zipped through with 1 quick thought about myself, guess that was the best way for me. Ooops my scores,

    Intuitive: 56 Extroverted: 33 Feeling:33 Judging: 22...Hmmm.

The first description says that I'm a "counselor" and am part of less than 2% of the population. Other Counselors include Mohandas Gandhi and Elanor Roosevelt. Whoa...the second one includes other INFJs as Martin Luther King Jr, Mother Theresa, Jimmy Carter, Oprah, and Nathaniel Hawthorne. Guess I'm in good company, right?

does it sound as bad as I think it might? I read some more on that website. I don't go vocalize any disapprovals about anybody unless the person is acting like total jackasses most of the time . ( there was one woman at my former office job with the state who everyone hated because of her behavior that tended to go over the line ) . I keep all thoughts about that kind of thing to myself otherwise .

Seriously, I first took this test years ago and don't remember my type, so I took it again and came up with...

The Marina Heiss writeup of ENFP pretty much hits the nail on the head for me.

How can you lose your personality? That's pretty much what you're asking.

The main lesson to learn from personality type is accepting who you are and making an effort to make up for your short-comings. By the way, as you age and mature, you tend to become more balanced. Your score will change over time. Slowly but almost always.

As for your personality type, NP do over analyze situations. I should know since I'm also an NP. We wait until the last moment to make our decisions because you never know what new fact or event might pop up at the last moment. We try to understand it all. We also tend to wait until the last moment to get something done and then do it in a hurry. By the way, we drive SJ's crazy.

As for an imagination, NP excel at this. Enjoy it. Let it fly. It probably makes you a great dancer. Odds are that you rarely repeat the same dance routine over and over. SJ's do until their deaths. *laugh*

Accept and CHERISH your personality. There is no right or wrong personality. You're you. Be happy about that. Don't try to be who you're not. Do try to make up for your short-comings, but realize that you will do this in your own way (a.k.a. as a ENFP would).

How many "no's" and "yes's" you pick doesn't matter. They alternate these. Pay no attention to how many "no's" you hit over "yes's".

Of course you're in good company. All the types have famous people associated with them. There is no good or bad personality type.

First, don't let any test determine the outcome of your relationship. OK? Nod your head or I won't continue. *Pumpkin waits for SCGirl to nod her head.* Alright. Now I'll continue.

Having said the above, figuring out ONE of your personality matches is easy. Almost always (but not always) it is simply your opposite personality. For you that would be ESTP. A good second choice for you would be someone like me, ENTP. Why would be you be attracted to these personality types? You love rescuing people. ESTP are promoters and we know they have no souls. ENTP are head-in-the-cloud inventors and we need someone to anchor us. On the bright side, ESTP's and ENTP's are real fun for your personality type to be around. We're usually the life of the parties and we're always doing something new.

As for your bf, he's probably a bit too introverted for your tastes but he isn't that strong of an introvert. However, his personality is one of those that I'd be careful around. They make good assassins for a reason.

There are no ... let me repeat that ... NO bad personality types. None. Zip. Not a single one. OK? Are we clear on this point?

Your personality is fine. It's great. It's you. Be happy with who you are. However, saying that, your personality type would have asked that question. It's just part of who you are.

And let me guess. When you do make your thoughts know, you MAKE your thoughts know. Being a SJ, you want to be sure before you speak ... unlike us E-NP's who speak as we think. *laugh*

You're fine and so is your personality type.

Just because you're introverted doesn't mean you don't like being around people. It mainly means you need your alone time to recharge your batteries ... whereas us extroverts (who I am one of) get our batteries charged by being around people and get them drained by being left alone.

I would guess that the NP aspect of you is what makes stripping attractive to you. Odds are you like freedom. You don't like doing the same thing all the time. You don't feel a strong need to join the rat race and do what everyone else does simply because everyone else does it.

Oh, and being a F probably helps you connect with your patrons. Enables you to better read them ... to pitch that next lap dance to them.

    I'm an ENTP too.

E = I act the same before one person as I do one million. Speaking engagements never make me sweat.
N = I listen to my inner voice and what it has to say about situations and facts. I try to see beyond the facts to what those facts are built on.
T = I try to make logical decisions. Note the word "try" in that sentence.
P = I see endless possiblities. To me, J's have tunnel vision.

I'm very happy to be an ENTP.
