Default Do you lie about going to school.

I don't ask mystelf but I find that there seems to be a lot of future doctors and lawyers in the clubs these days. Understand, I'm all for getting an education. Guess what I do(see name) down here in Houston.

So, do you lie to fit a certain customers expectations?

You can't know their expectations unless you know them, so it's hard to make stuff up to impress them.

I am not going to school and I don't tell them I am. But I did....to be....an engineer!

A friend of mine used to say that he was studying to be a mortician because he liked working with people.

When I wasn't going to school I never lied about it. But I am going to school now! Haha! And actually, I'm going prelaw, but I'm not set on it yet. I might go into something in science.

I worked with girls who lied about it but then again I knew one girl who was dancing her way through law school ... she didn't tell the cusomers about it though.

Most of them who actually are dancing their way through collage don't talk about it to customers because it part of their private lives and dancers HAVE to keep their private lives seperate from work.

I know a dancer who went to school for embalming and is now going to school for forensics :-)

I lie. I'm a psychology major, and that makes many customers uncomfortable. So I say I'm a social work major.

That may just be a brain fart on the customer's part. A dancer once told me she was breaking into car sales. Trying to be helpful I said,

"Oh, gee, my lease is just about up. What dealership?"

    "Uh.. Dodge."

I could practically see the *STALKER ALERT* sign flashing behind her eyes. If I had been thinking, I would never have asked the question. Sometimes you just forget.

Don't tell them, there are alot of dancers who lie about that these days so most likely the customer doesn't belive you anyway so why tell them.

Speaking as a ex-dancer who has been stalked I can tell you it's not fun, it's not flattering! You must keep your private lives private. If a guy is going to stalk you he's going to stalk you, but why make it easy for him. If you are going to school don't talk about it. Even in larger cities it's not that hard to figure out which school someone is attending ... there are only so many ya know.

Sometimes patrons want a personality type different from your nature. Its all money though, not a big deal to lie. I have a master's degree and some of them DO NOT want to hear that...especially in H-Town where there are many blue collar successes with money...or just enough money...

Engineers tend to love me, maybe cause both my parents are engineers and I know the personality type drawn to that industry??? I am naturally assertive, brainy, sexual..some guys like sweet, shy, easily manipulatable dumbasses...

Often, guys don't believe a thing I tell them. They just assume I am married to a freeloader who beats me, dropped out of high school, have 3 kids, and have a raging drug habit.....some guys like that too....predators seek the weak and desperate....

I don't, but I should. I've found that alot of customers feel more justified in spending money on a dancer that has a "worthy cause" (ie: school, kids, whatever). I guess some guys don't want to hear that their $ is going to a 3 martini lunch and a trip to Coach with my girls...whatever....I like the mortuary school answer.
Maybe I should tack on a couple kids with "babydaddys" for shits and giggles?! LOL!

I actually enjoy it when girls tell me stories (I don't really consider thm lies under these circumstances) - it takes great imagination to tell a good story and it's sometimes loads of fun. My ATF used to tell different customers different stories just to see if she could keep her different stories straight. Years later when we were just friends she finally confessed to a big one - she thought I'd be angry and was really surprised when I burst out laughing. She had really fooled me.

I have a degree in Advertising which I guess is easier for a customer to believe then being a doctor or lawyer that strips. I knew girls that claimed that they go to law school even thought they worked 7 nights a week- whatever!!

This is very interesting. I always tell guys that I want to get married, adopt kids and do a lot of shopping. I already have my college degree (I never tell them this of course). I just tell them that I that I despise of womens lib movement for making us have to work outside of the home while trying to deny our identity as women as if we were men with no interest in being anything like Martha Stewart. Usually this throws the guys off guard because they aren't used to someone being so honest.

I've always wondered which % of dancers and waitresses where really going to school. I remember one young dancer complaining to me (while I was standing there trying to tip her!) about everyone in her class being assigned Shakespeare and she was assigned John Donne. She was freaking out, because she didn't know where to start and she swore her professor had someting against her. I thought it was kind of funny, but oh well. A week later, I stopped by the club to drop off some research I found on the internet. She was happy to get it; whether she passed, hell if I know...

No, I don't lie, but I also decide who gets to know that I go to school and who doesn't. That is because of the reasons already stated: they like that idea that you have a loser boyfriend and kids or the "bubblebrain" girl. Is it because it makes them think they can save you in some way?
It depends on how you break down the men your are talking with, what you think will work better for conversation. I don't mind so much when a guy asks me and I have to say, "yes, really, I go to school." I'm used to them not believing me. Although, when the girls I work with ask me if I'm really going to school I seem to take offense. It's as if there asking me if I'm a liar and giving me those eyes like "yeah sure, whatever". (Why would I lie to impress her anyway?) That is why I'm not to fond of those who pretend to go to school. I work very hard to claim it, now I have to defend it. I had one girl say " does that mean your better than the rest of us who don't go to school". I tried to sound polite as I explained, that was nowhere near how I felt at all. Which was truly the case! I wondered when I left that club how it came to that conclusion, I was proud and she made it seem snobby, by a simple mention to a customer that "yes, indeed I do go to school."

    hehe....
like W.I says, some guys don't believe me either. i feel no need to prove it, though. i'm pursuing an M.A. and if they ask i'll tell. usually they're happy to know that their money is going towards something beneficial. i take two grad classes in a field different from my B.A., which makes things more difficult. but i love it. sometimes i overbook my work schedule though and end up bringing schoolwork to the club to work when it's slow. not the most financially productive thing to do, but the books are top priority. this week is hell though. academic suprises combined with thoughtless scheduling on my part leaves no down time for me. which is why i'm procrastinating on SW tonight...to let my brain unload!

I do go to school and I tell the guys that. I don't care if they know or not.. I can still play the "dumb stripper " bit if I have too..lol. There has been times when I have even told them where I went to school..One time I was giving this guy a dance and I asked him if he went to school and he said yes. So he asked me..and then he asked where I went, so I told him...His face lit up and he was like.." I go there too!!" I really don't care about people seeing me or noticing me outside of work...it doesn't bother me... But because I am going to be going to a more conservative college next year, I am keeping where I go to myself..

I have always lied to management about going to school to stay off the day shifts. It works perfectly.

As for customers, they can tell instantly that I have gone to school just by talking to me.

Dancers who want to be doctors crack me up. I'm sure some do make it. However I recently danced with a girl who used that line. Being a chemistry major I could have outed her right away by asking her the square root of 4. I didn't. I hope dancers know that such claims can be easily verified with one simple math question.

Additionally, this girl smokes, does some drugs like x, and has tattoes. She IS in school but her dream of being a OB-GYN seems a bit far fetched. I know I wouldn't want some tatooed, smoking, drug taking ex-stripper doctor delivering my baby. I'm sure she wouldn't either if she just thought about it for a minute.

Actually I do have to say that if I am tired and in a bad mood and someone asks me this I tell them that I never went to school and have no goals and ambitions. I only do this if i know they will not spend money. This usually pisses them off!! I say i have no goal in life but to strip-lol. They get pissed and i feel better.
