    Default Water Retention Help

I need some advice on water retention. What do some of you ladies use to rid yourself of it? I seem to begin retaining water 4-5 days before that time of the month and my ass and back of my thighs are the main targets! Just wondering if someone knew of a pill (Diruex does NOT work) that they could recommend... I usually end up taking my days off during that time to avoid looking "dimply" under the lights, for some reason water does that to me and then once things get into motion, its gone.. but in the meantime, anyone have any suggestions on a pill that flushes it away? :o

From what I have been told the more water you drink the less you retain. Either your doctor or maybe a health food store?

yeah raven is right. just drink more water- this is especially important b/c if you drink LESS water your body will think it is being deprived of it, and will subsequently hold on to it. so...drink more water, and the 2nd most important thing is to CUT OUT SALT!!! cutting the excess sodium from your diet will improve your look big time; when you have excess salt in your diet, it forms a layer of retented wated over your fat layer and gives the appearance of gaining weight. this is esp. noticeable in your face, in the eye area- this is what causes puffiness around the eyes. exercise will greatly help flush your body of extra salt.

i would not recommend any pills, ive tried them and they only make you feel shittier. you pee like 193 times a day and it just dehydrates you. trust me, if you cut extra salt, work out and drink more water you will be totally fine.

You need to pee. Drink water, sounds strange huh? But true, drink water and pee. Not soda etc. They have salt (sodium) which will make you retain water. As for duiretics, they come with their own problems, mainly depletion of potassium.

    Water...Water! Pee it out,

Stay away from salt, and midol relives this a little bit.

I agree with everyone above. Drink water and avoid sodium.

Don't think this has been mentioned, but it's something I do...I drink lemon juice in my water. It's a natural diuretic, and it seems to help me. It's not the tastiest thing in the world, but it helps.

Becareful of chemical and medical diruetics. Not only do they cause potassium and mineral loss, they cause muscle weakness and fatigue.
Avoid starchy sugary foods, reduce meats, dried foods and dairy foods because they demand more water to dissolve.
Try a green drink like veggie juice or Green Magma in some apple juice.
Herbal THerapy:Hawthorn extract to increase circulation, Bilberrry extract for tissue tone or Crystal Star Tinkle Tea 2x's daily as needed for pre-period edema
Supplements: B complex is really important especially B6. Or try Proteolytic enzymes such as Bromelain 750mg 2X's daily
Natural Diretics: Richardsons labs CHROMA SLIM or Flora VEGE-SIL.
I hope this helps . I suggest trying a couple of these suggestions at a time so you will know what works for you best.

All of the above messages are right. but there is a treatment for chronic water retention. it is endermologie. it helps you to get rid of cellulite but essentially getting rid of the excess of fluid in your body, by stimylating your lymphatic system that is in charge of eliminating water and toxins. It really works if you drink at least 2 liters of water per day, exercise at least 30 mn a day (walking, swimming, etc,,). It is true that diuretic pills aren't good for your health and if recommended by a physician, shouldn't be taken more than one week and as said above, eat a banana to keep your potassium. If you want more info on the treatment , please feel free to contact me at [email protected]
