Great poll Francesca!
I voted 50/50 but ONLY to stay offstage if I have a big VIP customer and am banking...or a customer who won't go VIP but is still spending.
Mostly, I LOVE the stage, its the best way to attract customers because EVERYONE sees you. I wish we could make more money onstage dancing than offstage rubbing..meow!

I really enjoy going on stage..But I enjoy making money over going on stage. At some clubs I make more money doing the stage thing and others I make more just working the floor. Plus when I worked at the Ritz in Houston, the girls that were there at the time were very cut throat and if you just stepped away from the table they were in for the kill. I used to have my customers tip the DJ to keep me off stage.

I love being on stage, but like Katrine said, if there is enough to keep me off, then I don't miss it!So mine was the last choice...

i love the stage! i like the idea of everyone looking at me. if i have a guy half way to the champ. room, i usually tell him to watch my stage show...and i make it extra nice. it usually helps seal the deal for me.
I ALWAYS pay to stay off stage. For one, stage still gives me butterflies. But mostly, I think I make more money out on the floor rather than have to rotate across 4 stages, 2 songs each when guys don't tip much for stages around here.

I totally agree. I worked at a 4 stage club too and I would always pay the dj to skip stage. 4 stages at 2 songs, each runs about 40 minutes. And if you have to go up twice, you end up spending almost an hour and a half on stage. They don't tip enough for all that.Originally Posted by Mariah link=board=1;threadid=6058;start=msg66314#msg66314 date=1074992354

On a couple of occcasions I have not gone on stage. If it is a slower night, I don't think it is economically feasible to pay the extra $$ to stay off stage...I just pick really short songs.Stage IS your advertisment of the product, so sometimes it can help you get more dances. But, it is a real pain in the ass when you find a guy who wants to buy some dances, and then the dj announces that you are next on stage.
I love the stage so I only stay off if I have a high roller who wants me my full attention for an extended period of time.
I only pay to stay off if I'm busy making money!! My DJ is cool though, sometimes he won't charge me at all, but I still tip him extra-good!

I'll pay to stay off if I'm really busy on the floor or with a good customer, but most of the time I'll go on. I like stage just fine and on a slow night it helps pick things up for me.

I usually ask my customer to pay for me to stay off stage. The guy, most of the time, doesn't want me to leave him since I am entertaining him and also some do not want to be attacked by girls as soon as I leave. It's like I am their protection, lol.
At my club, I have been told I cannot skip at times. The DJ has told me that the managers were getting upset by girls skipping. I think they just wanted me on the stage, but I am not sure.
The stage felt like a second home to me! Loved it. You would have to pay me to get off stage. I had wonderful stage shows i would like to think. The power knowing everyone can see you even when a customer was getting a ld from another dancer was empowering!!!

off stage is wot i prefer as a guy
Interesting! I always pay to stay off. I think I work best on the floor and I like to build a "relationship" with guys before dancing for them so leaving to go onstage before that has been done would break my rythm.

i stay off the stage unless things are lagging in the dance sales then i might go up once in the night.
