Pathetic Loser![]()
Your kidding.
And this is in reference to whom? The shitheads or all the men?
i thought it meant playered:
From the A.S.S.C. (alt.sex.strip-clubs newsgroup) Glossary:
"PLâ„¢, Pathetic Loser (Siren, 2/96) - (a) The term Siren used in a private email to another stripper to describe ASSCersâ„¢, accidentally posted the email to A.S.S-C, and was flamed relentlessly by ASSCersâ„¢ whose fragile egos were bruised."

I always heard the term meaning "Pathetic Loser" in clubs. At my other job, it's "personal leave." Lol.

Here's a couple links to other glossaries of jargon or acronyms that are commonly used on these boards. Many of them are repeats from the A-SSC glossy.

So i'm a pathetic loser because i go to strip clubs? Even if i try to be a good guy while i'm there?
(I didn't say i was a good guy, only that i try to be one. No dirty talk, no touching the breasts or ass or anywhere else, i did stroke one dancer's chin in a way that i thought was romantic, which i learned here is a bad thing, she just gave me a big smile though).
Look, I just hate the term being applied to me. I realize, grin and bear it, that what other humans (with their own thoughts and feelings) think of me is somewhat beyond my control, but what guy is gonna want that pinned on him?
Look, hypothetically, had i never ever entered a SC and came here and started posting... would i be a PL?
I hate the idea of any woman thinking of me in any negative way.
By the way,
I'm not trying to be condescending (upon reading my post, i decided that it was kinda combative in parts).
I also do NOT expect any Lady to act like i am in a club with her. I'm not and she's not. She's on her own time. I want to hear what's in her heart. Even if it hurts me.
Edit: Turned "ot" into "it."

Well, if I were generally an evil person, I'd say to define what a PL is, just look at your two previous posts.. but I'm not, so I wont. (God, the irony..):o
Okay, teasing aside... honestly, friend, it is not healthy to get that worked up over the perception of one's self by total strangers. Whatever happened to that component of personality known as "self-esteem"?? Do you really think someone who you've shoved a few bucks into a G-string is qualified to make a character judgement? LOL
Moreover, PL has become an overused and almost fond term amongst guys that go to stripclubs. You'll hear them boast "Me and three other PL's wandered into Cheetahs.." or "Was a busy night.. musta been 80 PL's in the place." etc.etc. It's become a comedic representation moreso than some form of biting, spiteful thing.
Lastly, it's a bit impolite to put people on the spot to try and get an "innermost" feeling of how they feel about people at their work. You might intercept email between a pair of psychiatrists referring to their patients as NC's (Nut Cases), but that doesn't mean every shrink in the world should be stereotyped to have little respect for their clientele.
So I'd really say take some time off guy. Loosen up that sphincter about 20 levels and enjoy yourself. It's REALLY a silly concept and even more silly to get worked up about such things!
It doesn't matter if you're somebody in this world, it rather matters you mean the whole world to somebody.

Yes. By going to a club you're percieved by women as "having to pay for it." As you can imagine this is seen as pathetic. It came up on some thread recently about why most dancers wouldn't date a guy who came into their club. If you're in there, you're paying to see her naked, thus at least to some extent, you're a PL. "Real men" get it for free.Originally Posted by Madcap link=board=1;threadid=6079;start=msg66965#msg66965 date=1075094379
Oh by the way, if you sit by the stage, you're sitting in "pervert row." So depending on that, you may in fact be a PPL (Perverted Pathetic Loser).
Sorry (& please don't shoot the messenger),

I'm not really all that worked up. That's why i modified my post to NOT read as combative. I just refuse to have the word "Pathetic" tied to me in any (serious, joke all you want) way. I'm not. I'm nineteen kinds of cool. I have terrific self esteem, but i DO care what others think (it just won't make or break me)!
By the way: "I'd say to define what a PL is, just look at your two previous posts..
God i wish i could have come up with something like that first. That was a GREAT goof! Touche! I thought that was funny, and I was the target!
Look, i'm not here to bitch "why don't you like me," because i don't stand or fall by anyone elses opinion. I am just being piqueish and snappy. I'm allowed (Aren't i? Gosh i hope so! If not... what shall i do?)
I guess i'm just being stupid. It happens to the best.
Here. I have a way where we can all win.
(Polecat made me think about my weird insistance that no ones opinion of me matters yet i hate being called pathetic, what an oxymoron, and i decided that my post and my pique was stupid)
How about this, can i ask how NOT to be a PL???
Polecat, thanks for cracking my brain like and egg and seeing what came out!
That's an option.

See Madcap, that is why I was giving you a hard time on that thread about saying no to dancers. It doesnt pay to be polite. You can sit there and defend them til your blue in the face, then as soon as they are away from you , they will call you a "sucker", "pathetic loser" etc. Just curious Madcap, how long have you been going to clubs? It seems like not that long?
Well, i've probably been in clubs about ten or fifteen times in my life.
Edit: How does someone misspell the word "or?"

I'm sure dancers have plenty of imbecilic names for which they call each other too. And do we customers not refer to dancers by derogatory terms behind their backs? (Hell, I've seen some guys with enough gall to do it straight to their faces).Originally Posted by money link=board=1;threadid=6079;start=msg67052#msg67052 date=1075121535
Call it karma, divine justice, or "what goes around comes around", but If a particular gal isn't genuinely thankful for a customer's patronage (and/or manners), her attitude will catch up with her eventually. If she wants to insult the very people who make her income possible, thats her loss. That's no excuse for any customer to give a dancer plenty good reason to say those sort of things. If he has conclusive proof that his patronage was being ridiculed, he should stop seeing her.
Easy. Make it a habit not to give a flying :fucker: about whatever disparaging things others say behind your back. Everyone does it, and everyone has it done to them. Being polite does pay. Worrying incessantly about things that are beyond your control doesn't.Originally Posted by Madcap link=board=1;threadid=6079;start=msg67015#msg67015 date=1075107771

Having been around from the early days of a.s.s.-c., a PL did not refer to every strip club patron. It referred to patrons who substituted SCs for a real life, the ones who believed all the stripper shit thrown at them, the ones who paid for lap dances before paying the rent, etc., etc.
A PL did not equate with a regular, as a regular might be a guy who makes $100 grand a year and likes spending a couple hundred bucks in a strip club every couple of weeks. However, if he knew it was just a form of entertainment, it was no biggie.
Most, if not all, RILs (Regular in Love) fell into the PL category. Perhaps RIL could be looked on as an uber-PL.
Now, its possible that the term has evolved over time, however at its birth it was only relevant to a class of SC customers.
I don't consider all strip club patrons PL's, just the guys whose only contact with naked women involves money. Or any guy who acts like an ass.
So someone with the money to pay for it is a loser,or just pathetic?...and whats wrong with paying for it,thats what they are there for.

I guess it's if you HAVE to pay for it; if you can't get a date or positive female attention any other way than by paying dancers for it, then you're a PL. I can't think of an argument to disagree with Mariah's assessment, just that the truth can hurt.Originally Posted by Lurker_001 link=board=1;threadid=6079;start=msg67215#msg67215 date=1075158944
r:

In many ways, PL is a self-imposed title.

But yes if you think about it, wouldn't that technically be all men (excluding gay men)? Esspecially all married men. Isn't a trip to the titty bar basically a one night simulation of a marriage?Originally Posted by Mariah link=board=1;threadid=6079;start=msg67196#msg67196 date=1075156188
Girl attracts guy who invites girl to table (courtship), charms guy until he agrees to take her to the VIP room (marriage), rubs her goodies all over him (sex), and eventually he gives her a large chunk of his money and leaves (divorce).
The only difference is there's no contract involved (except maybe the credit card tab), and that the guy at the SC is for the most part happy once the "relationship" is over. If a dancer does a good job, said PL might come back to the club and "marry" her again.
