    Default New Orleans

I was looking around for information about New Orleans and didn't find any. There's very little on stripclublist.com too.

What is dancing like in this city? I really want to relocate to some place warmer, and it seems like California, Nevada, Arizona, Texas and Florida are all saturated with dancers and clubs...but you never hear anything about Lousiana.

I moved south from PA. I don't know about the clubs down in N.O., but here in Shreveport the clubs are small and have a good turn-out. There is always tons of room for new talent with emphasis on talent. If you got good moves you'll shine at these places.

I worked in New Orleans and did not make much there. I was 17 with a fake ID but no Social Security card so I had to work in a lower tier club. I must reiterate the importance of a SS card. Many don't hire girls with big tats so coverup is a must.

It's easy to spend your nights earnings on partying. Beautiful place, NO is.

Juliette...do you think if you worked in a better club, you would have made more money? I have a small tattoo on my shoulderblade, which is easy to coverup.

I read the reviews and it seems like a good place. I'm surprised there is not more talk about it like other places in the south....seems like there should be a reason, but so far there doesn't seem to be any!

I live in Nevada...and yes it is saturated with girls but I do really well. The wheather here is beautiful and the cost of living is lower then anywhere else I have lived. I am from South Philly, and in comparision to my income there and my income here, it has doubled if not tripled. My average night I would say is between 600 and 1000, good days in the 2000's...even during the week days.

    Hi Emily,

I live in New Orleans & have been dancing here for 4 yrs. at Temptations.

    About the club:
This is one of my favorite clubs to work in. The club is gorgeous with 10 private rooms. The atmosphere is like a small family type...the management & girls are friendly. The entertainers ages range from 17yrs - 50yrs. The girls look like the girl next door to centerfold looking. About 20-45 girls per night No schedule but have to work 6hrs min.

    Mileage:
Very High. alot of extras, but because it is private rooms, if you don't do extras it can be hard..but you can get by

    Prices:
table dances on pedistals - $20
    lap dances w/o pedistals - $40
private rooms the dancer gets - $100 plus tips for 1/2 hr

If one works in the quarter...it is pretty much convention people only...This year the convention calendar is terrible. Alot of us are coming out with less than $50 a day. There have been nights with only 15 customers the entire night. Go to and youll see what I mean,Lol.

Normally the season is from Sept. - May however, this year I haven't really seen a season. I heard we lost alot of our conventions to Nevada.

    Tip outs:
    after 6pm $30
    after 10:30 $45
    10% to DJ's & housemoms

Hope this helps. Perhaps next year the convetion calendar looks better

What do you mean by extras? Like I don't mind guys touching, but I don't want to be fingered, and definitely no oral sex or regular sex. Is that common out there? or just your club? and for $100! eek!

I lived in new orleans from '91-'94 - light years ago. working the quarter can get a little crazy, but when the money's good - it's worth it. the city is beautiful - lots of character and charm. locals are the nicest people. i worked at maiden voyage on bourbon street, but not sure if it's there anymore. it was very nice - i always felt safe there. big daddy's is across the street - a more casual club - been there since the sixties. but they make you lay in this weird "hot dog bun" contraption that hangs above the bar. it's so people walking down bourbon street can be tempted into strolling in. kind of strange to explain, but better represented in person. i never had much luck gaining regular customers in the quarter, but there's a few clubs in the suburbs, though not nice to look at - money can definately be made. i worked at dc's lounge across the river and always did well - it is run by a woman - the only female owned club i've ever seen. the summers in nola are brutally humid - sub-tropic conditions and the city sits well below sea level. if you're looking to move, keep that in mind. i loved it though, and go back frequently.

***one more thing - regarding extras... new orleans has a jaded history and many people go there to let loose and they expect a lot. if you handle yourself well and watch out for yourself, you shouldn't get caught in any sticky (no pun intended) situations. i always did a tasteful stage show, and i carried that over into working the floor. and miss george is right - the money is there, but you gotta go get it - lots of girls do sit on their asses at the bar all night. and that turns the customers off more than anything.

I also work at Temptations, but haven't worked in about a month since it hasn't been profitable. Temptations has a reputation for having many girls perform extras, and I don't, so I usually lose out to the girls who do.

Like emeraldlotus said, the "season" this year hasn't even existed! It's been crazy slow. Every now and again a guy comes in who makes my shift, but it has been few and far between. My average = $120-270 night. NOT worth my time!

Your best $$ potential bet is Ricks, though the girls can be really catty over there.

    Hey Emily,
The season has been awful this year. Rick's is your best bet for making good $$. You don't have to give extras for decent money and during the week the clientel is generally older men with lots of $$. Fri and Sat can be good as well, there are just so many more young'uns, but that is true of most places. The management, DJ's, floor staff and bar/waitstaff are very nice, and I'm not sure where these other girls get the idea that Rick's has snotty dancers, I have never had any problems with anyone there, excluding the occasional customer. I love New Orleans, you can't beat the food and atmosphere. But then again, to each their own. : Good Luck!!!

The absolute best club inN.O. is the Gold Club.I'm from N.O. and danced there for 8 years,I really miss it.You can average $2500-$3000/weekly(3-5nights).The best part, you make it sitting on your ass.Anyone who wants to work there will be greeted warmly. We are one big happy family.

I worked in N.O. at the worst club ever for 2 days. I was travelling w/ a guy and he worked 12-18 hrs daily leaving me all alone in the hotel room or walking the city. After about 8 months of this I was super bored and decided to dance in the Quarter. We tried to go to Rick's one night a few months earlier as customers but I was offended by the doorman and left so I didn't want to work there.
I went to the club next door to work.

The mngr was a man dressed as a woman, but she was very obvious -five o'clock shadow, size 15 feet, knuckles the size of huge grapes. Dancer drinks were $20 of cheap champagne, and the club was just topless. The dancers were some of the ugliest I'd ever worked with, couldn't hustle worth a damn and were obviously a little upset that I was there making more $$ than them. No d.j. just a jukebox. Walked out first night w/ $320. SEcond night like $100 for 1/2 a shift. MOst of that money was tips for talking cause I only did like 5 dances the whole time. (I think they were $20 dances)

THe absolute funniest thing was that after the customers got drunk, the mngr would take them into V.I.P. for dances, and the poor girls that were there were already having a hard time making money.

Big change from Atlanta's Gold Club to that little rat trap, but at least it got me out of the hotel room!

Ok I'm from nola, and worked at Maiden Voyage (now Hustler), Rick's, Gold Club, Temptations, Centerfold's in Metairie. Maiden Voyage was the best, but it's a Hustler club now and that place just plain sucks - has sucked for years. Rick's was next best and it's still good. I made alot of money there. I tried Gold Club but didn't like it at all - weird atmosphere that I just couldn't get into. It seemed to have alot of locals partying in the Quarter and nola locals generally don't spend much money. Temptations is extra-city, VIPs are in private rooms upstairs or out the back, prices are low and mileage is high - bodily fluids high. I didn't stay there either. Centerfold's in Metairie was a nice suburban locals place, well run and busy. (I knew the owners pretty well, and I think it may not be such a good place anymore - might be worth a shot though, business there was much more steady than in the Quarter) It's the kind of place where a good-looking girl with game can really take over, that's what I did Money potential wasn't nearly as good there as in the Quarter, but it made for a really nice break from the Bourbon Street hustle.

French Quarter clubs are high hustle! The other poster who said nola has a rep and people go there to cut loose (ie, do all the things they think they can't get away with at home) is exactly right. There was money to be made, but you had to pick through alot of spectators and assholes ("well I can get more action for free out on the street than what I'm getting in here") to get it. Of course when you found that guy willing to pay the $500/hr to sit in VIP with you all night, it was totally worth it!

I haven't been back to dance in nola in about 2 years, but I've heard this year it's been crappy. Some of the posts on this thread confirm that. Also, for someone considering moving there, seriously consider that the summers there are not only brutally humid and hot, but SLOW AS HELL. It's so hot no one wants to be there, so the whole town is dead for about 3 months of the year. High season is good, but most of the non-native dancers didn't stick around for the summer.

It is a crazy weird city with all kinds of quirks and interesting little oddities. The kind of place that you either love or hate, no in between. Also the kind of place you can get totally lost in, and spend your whole before you realize it. I can't count the number of people I met there who had the same basic story: Went for vacation, never left. Most had been there for years and wouldn't dream of going anywhere else.

I find the VIP room fees at the Gold Club the best as far not srewing the dancers over. The other clubs in N.O. charge way too much for their room fee as a result,we don't make what we should. If for some reason or another I should move back there,I will definately go back to GC.I truly can say that is the classiest of all the clubs in N.O.,not to mention, their house fees are incredibly reasonable, even to the standards for ten years ago.For example,if you are ready by 10PM,it's $40 total:$20/house,$10 DJ, $5/housemom,$5/floormen(bouncers)The GC in N.O. is a happy medium,it's not mega big and it's not a hole-in-the-wall.Definately has money potential.

Las Vegas....bad things or good things depending where you work out here, I have tried a lot of different places since I have been here. I dont want to dance in Reno...heard prostitution is legal, although that could be hearsay...but I dont want to take the chance. Why try and get out of philly, I know the money isnt that great but I LOVE LOVE LOVE philly. How is Signatures anyhow since they have new owners now?? I used to work there a couple yrs back and it wasnt very good.
Have you tryed any of the other clubs in town??

Prostitution is legal in the neighboring county... NOT Washoe County (wherein Reno lies ). Dances are topless, grinding... "you can touch them, they can't touch you" kind of dances. Reno is pretty much cake that way to work in. Also, you don't have vice crawling up your leg all the time so it is low stress. If you hook up with a regular cab driver and ge him a brothel run, he'll kick you back some money (they get a percentage of what the client spends at the brothel). Summers are pretty decent here and there are a lot of girls traveling from as far as SF and San Diego ... and even Portland and Seattle.. to work here. You need a hustle to make the big money here, tho.

Now with Nawlins... what kind of licensing and hiring procedures are there? How is the fall (November, specifically, since I'll be there for a month)? What kind of vice presence is there in the clubs (I don't want to be rounded up in a cattle call on a vacation)?

There is no license required to work in the strip clubs in New Orleans. Most places will hire you without an audition, assuming you look ok and you say you've danced before. I mean, if you go on stage and make a fool of yourself, they may ask you to leave, but otherwise it's not hard to get hired at all!

Bring your social security card and a state ID or driver's license. If Ricks is where you want to work, they will not hire you without those two things.

November is one of the better months since it's duirng convention season. This November was nothing special -- pretty dissappointing, actually. Check the numerous N.O. convention listings to get an idea of who's in town when you'll be there. Obviously, the more convention attendees, the more money you'll make since all the strip clubs on Bourbon are frequented by tourists and convention goers.

Now I personally have never heard of the clubs getting raided since extras go on in ALL of the clubs, but that may just be me. I think the cops turn a blind eye to it all. There's shady stuff going on behind the scenes, probably.
