yes, when I first started, I was Aria (ARE-e-yuh) like Aria Giovanni, but the DJ kept saying "uh REEEEE yuh" which sounded like DIAREHEA... without the word DIE in it. LOL
SO needless to say, I changed it to Lexi. Love it and wouldnt change it, although in the ther club I dance theres already a Lexi. So my name there is Alexis.

I have only used Vanessa... I use a fake real name instead use my real name as my stage name. No customer believes Vanessa is my real name so I tell them a fake real name instead... then also tell them that all the staff at the club only know me by my stage name so you can only call me that or else they won't know who you are talking about.

I also have a "stripper age" ... a fake age. I don't use my real age.

If I find there is another Vanessa at a club I'm working at... then I have two "back up" names: Trinity, Scorpio.

I always try to have a name that does NOT sound similiar to another dancer's name... for instance..

There is a Tyra, Tyler and Taylor at my club.. they all sound very close to each other and customers do get them confused due to how they sound close to each other.

i've only had two, three if you count the first one was a short version of the second one, got that?

my second (or third) one i picked because i had danced with only two other girls by that name and they were exceptional and unforgettable.

surprisingly, in all the years i have danced i didnt change it more often

I started with Lynx, like the wild cat. but it confused people since it sounds like links. so i changed it to Ami which A LOT of people think is my real name since I look like an ami. i think its cute and kinda innocent sounding which is what i am going for. plus when i had lynx, customers were always saying "whats your REAL name?" and that drives me nuts. but i also use a fake 'real' name it feels safer.

i have been to a few clubs where someone was already amy, or aimee, or whatever so i have also been lacy and sabrina. I like ami best but sabrina was ok (dj named me) but i really didnt like lacy, that one was just too cutesy. but the club suggested it and i cant think of one on the spot. i should prolly think of some more back ups.

I have made a whole character around ami though, just like an RPG. bkgd, email, even a last name. really helps me feel safer.

When I started, I used Erika, after a girl who I lived with in the dorms who I had a HUGE crush on. I changed it because it wasn't really fun, cute, or sexy.

Now I use Celeste at my regular club, Bubbles when I travel. I chose Celeste because my real name is French so I thought I'd identify more with another French name. I chose Bubbles because it is cute and silly, like me.

I have used two different names in the two clubs in which I've worked. At my main club, I'm Adelle. Like Celeste, my real name is French, so I went with a French stage name. At the other club I went by Lorelei, but no one could pronounce it or spell it, and it didn't really suit me much. If I go back, I'll probably be Adelle there too. It just suits me so well. And the DJ says when I come out, "DUDE! You're gettin' ADELLE!" and assuming people get it, they think it's funny.

I also like Lillith (but it doesn't suit my girl-next-door cutesy image at all), and Peaches. Peaches fits me to a tee, but I'm not sure it's sexy enough...
    Dude! You're getting ADELLE!!!

I have 2. 3 total but one's so popular I have to can it.

Sadly, regular women change their names all the time- marriage, to evade a stalking ex, etc......Not so strange at all.

Gold Coast Girl, Can I ask you why you give a fake age—and is the one you give older or younger than your real age? Jenna

I was thinking about changing my name from Dixie to Daisy, because a lot of people hear "Dixie" in the loud club and think I said "Daisy." But my boyfriend just pointed out that everybody would see a blond Southerner and think I'm trying to be Daisy Duke or Jessica Simpson, which I do not want at all. So I'm sticking with Dixie for now. It's cute and not too terribly common!

I've only been dancing for a week and I've already changed it. I started with Calliope for the first two nights which I thought was interesting and original, but no one can pronounce it and the DJ kept screwing it up even after he practiced saying it 15 times.

I do the same thing... It all depends whose asking... Sometimes they guess I am 19-30... Which I am... Silly men!!! Younger guys i stay closer to the younger age range... 21-23... Older men I go toward the older age range 25-30ish...

Everytime I say it tho I smile coyly...

I like the fake real name idea...

I used Alexis most of the time, Dolly when I was putting on a ditzy persona, and eevry once in a while Thalia (just cause I thought it was the sexiest name I ever heard).

when asked my real name I always answered Lenore, which usually got them to stop pushing it.

I would like to make a change to what I originally said in my post back in 1994....

Vanessa is the one stage name I try to use consistently. If it is already taken my back up is Stacy. My full stripper name (if I ever have need to use it) is Vanessa Stacy.

I used Trinity one time and all the patrons and customers called me Trudy so I won't ever use that name again. As for Scorpio.. nah.. to not real. I like using real names.

I've been pretty lucky in that I have been able to use Vanessa consistently (most of the time in the majority of the clubs I have worked within over the years).
