has anyone else done this??

i wanna dance say 4 months in UK< then spend all that money backpacking thru part europe, then back to UK-dance few months, backpack thu rest europe, then dance japan few months backpack asia, etc....and juat keep doing this till countries start refusing me !!!!! haha

i know this is a blatant waste of money, but im only young, and wanna see the world im sure this is the best ay to do it.

It's called a "working holiday".. and if you are young enough and really can make good $$ over in the UK dancing (find the right club)... then why not ???

As for countries refusing you.. I know that if you are a Commonwealth citizen (like Australia) then you can work over there until age 30.. used to be 27 I think. Try to also have money in an emergency fund so that if anything happens whilst you are working overseas (away from your country of origin) and/or travelling... you are cover-ed.

Treat this like you would if you were doing a working holiday by working in pubs, for instance. Travel agents can help you out there.. esp. those who provide working holidays.

Ya, when I was working in London (my first dancing gig) I was sleeping in Hyde Park my first couple of nights! Eventually moved into a hostel and walked 1 hr to and from work because I was too cheap to take the bus! Haha, those days are over (kindof- I take the bus because I'm too cheap to drive )- I think you'll find that hardcore 'backpacking' isn't really possible while dancing, mainly because you'll need regular shower access, have copious amounts of money that you'll need to keep safe..., but certainly travelling and dancing is awesome. I'm going to give it another go next winter and cruise down to Aus and NZ.

Hmmm. This seems to be a common desire of many exotic dancers. Hmmm. I wonder if a talent agency could specialize in this. How about:

"Around The World Talent Agency"

Agency ad: "Tired of your club? Bored with your surroundings? Then let us represent you and enable you to see the world. Around The World Talent Agency specializes in helping exotic dancers dance their way around the world. Dance for three months in one location (Australia, Japan, wherever) then use the money you've saved up to sightsee through the countries that are on your way to your next club. We don't pressure you to rush to the next club. Take off a month or two and see the exotic locales. Be a tourist and enjoy life. We make it easy for you to do this dream. We have contacts with numerous clubs around the world that are eager to spice up their clubs with foreign talent. We have even more homes within walking distance of these clubs that are warm, loving, and caring ... as well as eager to rent you a room for very little money while you work at that club. And if you ever get into trouble, we're right there helping to get you out of it. Afraid to travel with lots of cash? No problem. We have an easy fast way to convert that for you into safe traveler's checks ... no matter where you are in the world. So live the dream and see the world. Let us represent you and we'll make it happen. Around The World Talent Agency waits your bidding."

And it would be soooooo easy to get onto talk shows and promote such an agency. That and setting up talk show appearances for the traveling dancers. If anyone wants to "steal" this idea, go right ahead.

Then again, is there a talent agency for exotic dancers that is doing this for dancers? ???

I stand corrected.

Oh, by the way, that website doesn't seem to exist.

Hi Mermaid,

I have a friend in the U.K. right now doing the dance-around-the-world thing, she's at Spearmint Rhino and making pretty good money. She went to Japan for a six week contract but left within a week as she hated it so much...

If you go to the U.K. get in touch with Jason at www.Laptastic.co.uk
He arranges dancing contracts all over the place.

Good luck and have fun!
