Default After the baby is born.....

how would I go about loosing the fat on my tummy without loosing the fat on my butt and thighs? I like the little bit of fat I've gained around my ass and thighs and I don't want to loose it. (Being a little thicker will help me make money in the black clubs around here.) I have such a nice little booty and I worked so hard for the past 8 1/2 months to get it and I don't want it to go away!

crunches are good, also walking with your new baby will strengthen your muscles in your bum and your stomach, so you wont neccesarily lose your bum, you will tone it along with your stomach.

I would say walking (in particular hiking up hills/stairs) will help even those of us who are small tone and perk up the butt--eliptical(sp?) trainer at a sporting goods/ gym is also helpful...stair-stepping like motion will help round out buttocks!

I definitely agree with the walking. I walked throughout all three of my pregnancies, and afterwards. I just packed the baby up in his/her stroller, and took nice long walks each day. You will not believe how tone you'll get just from doing that, and it's highly enjoyable for you and the little one. I've never had a gym membership, because I've found whatever exercise equipment I need, right around the house.. lol.. I have 2 flights of stairs, so there's my stepper.. Crunches are excellent!

Good luck to you.. when are you due?

Thanks ladies for all your responses. My Boyfriend has also gotten used to the bigger booty and he wants me to keep it as well . I'll definately try the walking and the crunches. I'm due March 22.

Theres really no such thing as "Spot reduction" meaning just by working your stomach you wont lose all the fat you want.
If you have a gym, do the treadmill (on fat burn) and it will lose the layer of fat. Dont go overboard or you will be hitting "Cardio" which is your heart rate only higher and this often burns muscle. if you do it on fat burn, you stay at a steady pace for about 35-45 minutes a day and you will lose fat.
To keep your booty, just do weight exercises but thats much later on as your body is healing.

Actually, I haven't lost the tummy fat yet. All the crunches in the world won't help me lose it. My problem is my ab muscles stretched out so badly when I was pregnant that they won't go back to normal without surgery. I'm going to have to get them surgically retightened in addition to lipo for the stubborn fat. I am back to dancing though (I just suck it in ).
