Who can deny that the music was better in the 80's?
Metallica was still Metallica, Hair metal was on top, and the GOGO's were shooting vacation vids (and penii)!
Who likes what from the 80's?

Can't seem to get my mind off of you
Back here at home there's nothin' to do
Now that I'm away
I wish I'd stayed
Tomorrow's a day of mine that you won't be in
When you looked at me I should've run
But I thought it was just for fun
I see I was wrong
And I'm not so strong
I should've known all along that time would tell
A week without you
Thought I'd forget
Two weeks without you and I
Still haven't gotten over you yet
CHORUS
Vacation
All I ever wanted
Vacation
Had to get away
Vacation
Meant to be spent alone
A week without you
Thought I'd forget
Two weeks without you and I
Still haven't gotten over you yet
CHORUS

I LOVE 80's music....but for me it has to be 80's soul and funk classics..... i have quite a collection and listen to it every day!
Seraya.
I love the Go-Go's!!! "Our Lips Are Sealed" remains one of my favorites to this day!!
I never liked Metallica...I did love other bands, though...LOVE Bon Jovi to this day!
Like the car, I'm exotic, erotic, and expensive....![]()

The 80's were my formative years! I love the music from the 80's! LOve the Go-gos but nithing tops Duran Duran!
didnt like the music then dont like it now, with the exception of quite a few "hair bands" haha.
As quoted by Luckyone:
I asked directions from a genie in a bottle of jim beam and she lied to me.
Methodus saved my life!
I think the eighties really rocked! I steer more towards some music today that has that "beat" and such going.
I love OutKast with "Hey Ya." It has the video and sound i am attracted too. And also The Darkness, they have that eighties thing going. I think.
It's refreshing to hear this again. And alot of the re-makes, nice.
Some (not much) techno is fine. But i will always go for rock. One group i can't take, and i have tried id the Beastie Boys.....YUK.
Pamela
UB 40 "red red wine"
tears for fears "shout"
and I remember dancing to Simply Red
sigh... memories of my childhood
actually I think there was alot of good music back then, maybe a little less blatantly sexualas it is today which I think is a good thing, or maybe I'm just getting older lol
As I have matured,I have learned "that one good turn....usually gets most of the blankets",-)
On the street where you live girls talk about their social lives
They’re made of lipstick, plastic and paint, a touch of sable in their eyes
All your life all you’ve asked when’s your daddy gonna talk to you
You were living in another world tryin’ to get your message through.
No one heard a single word you said.
They should have seen it in your eyes
What was going around your heart.
Chorus:
Ooh, she’s a little runaway.
Daddy’s girl learned fast
All those things he couldn’t say.
Ooh, she’s a little runaway.
A different line every night guaranteed to blow your mind
See you out on the streets, call me for a wild time
So you sit home alone ’cause there’s nothing left that you can do
There’s only pictures hung in the shadows left there to look at you
You know she likes the lights at nights on the neon broadway signs
She don’t really mind, it’s only love she hoped to find
Repeat chorus
It wasn't until I met JBJ backstage and told him that this song was "my song" (I tried to run away several times as a pre-teen) and he laughed and said, "it was every girl's song".......
long live the 80's

I loved the Eurythmics and Robert Palmer. One of the best times of my life was when I went clubbing every night for the entire summer of '85 with three women. Had a great time "making a scene" and cutting up the dance floor.
Then college started back up ... and studying ... and semester papers ... and research projects ... *sigh*
But it was a magical time. I'll always have fond memories of those three months.
However, I do like some of the songs that are now coming out these days. They have a similar energy to them that was the heart and soul of the 80's songs.

Ah the 80's when punk was punk and everyone was stoned from the aquanet fumes! I'm an 80's metal head(slayer was as soft as i listened to back then) but my heart lies with the punk movement(anti nowhere league etc)
LOL I forgot about Aquanet! Stiff Stuff, and lots of blue eyeshadow! Yeesh! The bigger the hair the better... turning my head upside down with a blow dryer in one hand and a can of Aqua net in the other, and presto either Duran Duran hair or the boys from Europe... remember them? The final countdown???? I'm surprised I still have hair left....

Sambora married Cher.
Cher looks like a drag queen.
Therefore, Sambora must be gay...

Richie's married to Heather Locklear. He's not gay, he's hot and sexy.
$.02
Yeah, that's right. Richie and Tommy Lee traded wives, didn't they?
Lol, they are all married! Jon married a woman who was not an actress or singer. Has kids. Richie has been married to Heather for many years. They still tour! I think they both still look very very good. Jon is 41, maybe 42 now!!!!![]()

I was a total teeny-bopper. I listened to New Kids on the Block and I had posters of them all over my walls!ed: I curled my bangs and fluffed them out so that they were really high (and sprayed them with Aqua Net lol), and I wore frosted jeans (tight-rolled at the bottom, of course), jean jackets, and L.A. Gear tennis shoes. I was pretty young in the 80's, and besides the New Kids, I liked Tiffany, Belinda Carlisle, and Debbie Gibson.
Nowadays I like Billy Idol (great music to dance to!), AC/DC, Metallica, Aerosmith, and Bon Jovi.s:
