I always travel with a dog! I have traveled with my boyfriend. Once I traveled with a new girl to Vegas but she had no experience and no costumes and she didn't get hired even though she was a cute blond.
I would like to try it out again. It would have to be someone with experience and costumes and a fairly good chance of getting hired. Someone who doesn't do hard drugs or drink a lot.
You get what you put up with
I prefer the buddy system, especially if I'm going to be somewhere unfamiliar. Plus it's nice to have someone to stick with if the girls at the club are unbearable (this has happened) and there are no other clubs in town.
OR if I travel, it's nice to go where I already know a friend, then I can visit and work!
I like to travel with another person, but frequently travel alone as I like to go to distant and exotic places like Las Vegas, or North Dakota. I usually stay on the road for 2-3 weeks and have been gone as long as two months.
I have had two really great travel partners, and a few girls that did a look-see type of road trip with me, but I have a hard time finding girls that like to work as hard and as much as I do.
We should have a board for girls to post when they are looking for travel partners or work buddies, and have everyone fill out a profile as to how and where they like to work. Sort of a classified ads for traveling dancers!
I have met many girls that travel once a year for a week or two, but very few that move around as much as myself or Tina. The few of us that do move around a lot usually run in to each other out there on the road, because there are so few of us (besides feature dancers).
Promote yourself and earn more money! This is a business that is owned by strippers for strippers. Let's make that money!
I agree, we should have a place where we can meet other dancers that want to travel. I too, travel for weeks at a time to out of the way places. I like small towns where theres probably only one or two clubs and I'm the only one with all my teeth....LOL! I also like the big cities too! But i guess thats what makes my job interesting! I'm currently on the road now in my RV. The best thing is I don't have to check into any hotels and use thier germ invested beds and pillows. My RV has everything I need from kitchen to bathroom. Althought when I did travel that way and stayed in a hotel, I always brought a can of lysol. I believe I'm in Reading, PA. Probably going to check out one of the clubs here tonight. I'm heading to Illinois then making my way back down to Florida. I don't smoke or do any drugs. I do drink on occasion. I'll probably be in Key West in 2 to 3 weeks. If any of you are on my way and looking to travel. Email me and we can meet up! Looking forward to hearing from you guys!

I have always flown solo, just the way I am. But if I meet a dancer who I got along with enough and could trust I would go as a twosome. It can be pretty daunting going into a new club for the first time by yourself. But on the other hand because you don't know anyone you are forced to talk to customers which equals more money in the end.
I'm always wanting to travel around Florida too. I live in Orlando and it sucks to work here so I travel to Daytona. I HATE traveling by myslelf...![]()

I always travel with someone or to a place that I've worked before so that I know people for two reasons:
1. Safety, if anything was to happen to me, who would notice for a week or more?
2. Like Glamazon said, sometimes the girls at the clubs can be absolutely unbearable, it makes it alot easier to have some familiarity and to see a friendly face.
I agree about having an area for profiles and travel partner postings.
90% of the time i traveled from Ft. Lauderdale Fl, up the coast of Fl to dance, alone. I have done this for many years. I now live more north Fl. on the east coast, and left behind dancing in south Fl.
It was probably a 3 hour drive to and from 4 days/nights a week. I have a home here now, so i stayed. And work for a hospital, that also made me stay.
I still go south Fl. But only to visit the clubs about once a month if that.

I've done it both ways, but prefer to travel alone. It seems that whenever I have travelled and booked the same club as another dancer travelling companion, that the other dancer has had difficulty with the club we booked, or the club has presented me with a better opportunity booking in a sister club which they were not also willing to offer to the other dancer, or the travelling dancer has somehow pissed off the club owner/customers such that it reflected badly on me for bringing her into the club, or some other intrigues/complaints/attitudes which have limited my options, complicated my trip, and cost me money in one way or another.
Hmmm, where was this board a few years ago...I traveled and LIVED on the road off and on for E-I-G-H-T years!!! I've been in all 50 states and worked in 16-17 of them. My latest is Hawaii!!! Very fun, very fun...

I travel to bookings in the Upper Midwest full time. My fiance' usually drives and goes with me, but soon he will need to be home based more to do his work.
We have everything in storage in several states and go on the road for several months at a time. My home base is Houston and I have a regular club there I can work at whenever I am not on the road.
Here is my take on traveling with another dancer.
How many dancers are committed to working this full time? I work on advance bookings in the Dakotas, Montana, and other staes in the area where most clubs pay $300-$400 base pay for road girls and you work M-Sat 5-closing, and, if I have more than a 4 hour drive, leave Sunday and go to the next booking.
For this to work, BOTH girls have to be committed to working, AND both have to be able to work the same clubs at the same time. AND even if the club is slow BOTH girls MUST finish out the week.
This can work up where I book IF both girls book the same club at the same time several months in advance. For example if Girl A and Girl B want to work together in April, they can contact the same clubs now with pictures and only book clubs with 2 openings the same week. Then they are guaranteed work. And book clubs 5-6 weeks in a row and rebook each club together. If they want to work clubs where there is no schedule, as long as they both get hired together, it's all good. Then once they have a dozen or so clubs that they both can work in at the same time travel.
But many dancers as Paris said aren't committed and will cancel bookings. I NEVER miss work and my fiance' and I track every penny I make. If I need a short week, I call the club in advance and let them know. I don't burn any bridges on bookings and to get 2 girls who are that committed is not always easy.
My fiance' and I have made big sacrifices for me to travel to dance. And we can leave Houston by noon on Sunday and be in northern South Dakota by noon the next day. How many dancers are that committed to this work to travel like that? We drive everywhere and pack well, including a microwave and large ice chest. One of our 2 banks is in every state we work in and we can pay bills and be gone 6 months at a time. And when my fiance' needs to go back he buys things that we can't get on the road.
If one dancer is not that committed, it can affect the other girl working with her. Both girls must take the good with the bad and realize that it will be slow everywhere and that some clubs are better than others, and deal with it. rebook the clubs that are ok and FINISH the week at the slower clubs, but just don't rebook them. In the area I work in club owners talk amongst each other and if you f**k up with one club the others will hear about it and not want you.
And in big city clubs where there are more dancers than they need, both girls may not get hired or may not both be able to work the same times if they are hired and the club has schedules. It will take research and some trial and error to be able to work the big city circuit traveling. I have gotten hired in some road clubs in decent sized cities but told that I have to be put on schedule and can't work until next week. The booking clubs you can line up in advance, call a week in advance to confirm your booking (or they may cancel you out) and just show up for work on that Monday. That really is the best bet for travelling dancers. And you'll find out about other clubs from girls and customers that you can get hired in once you get in the area.
Even if a club is slow, I HAVE to have income every week. There are bills to be paid each week and slow money is better than no money. Many dancers pout and would rather make no money at a club they don't like and complain that their bills are not paid than just go with the flow. And traveling with a girl like that can be detrimental to the other dancer who is reliable and a good worker.
If the right match of two dancers can be achieved and they get along well, it can work.
Hi Ladies,
I will be traveling next month to work with a friend for a few weeks. I will be staying in a hotel and she will be also but in a seperate room. I was wondering what do you ladies do with your cash everyday? I know alot of rooms come with safes but I don't trust them. What do you suggest???

Do you use banks? I don't so I have little choice but to trust hotel safes. I've never had a problem and the risk is far lower than carrying it on me or stashing it somewhere.
Hi NikkiD,
I do have a bank account but, I use it only for my mortgage everything else is money orders. I had one yraveling coworker tell me she buys United States postal money orders and make them payable to herself. The money orders are good as cash and good for 2 years I think. If the money orders are stolen or lost all you need is the receipt to have them replaced.
I travel a lot, only lately has it been for stripping though. I think it's a lot of fun, but I do always travel as a loner, but always always wish that I had a friend as adventurous as myself who wants to go all over the place. I am thinking about possibly going to strip in Japan or Australia because I found a few things on the web about it and it looks like it could be fun, if it falls through (and it just might because I am trying to figure out if the money is worth it or not) then I would love to come traveling around the states with you. Sounds like a great time and I get along with everyone.but if there is someone out there brave enough to travel internationally with me, come on over and lets do it!!!!

A little tip about your cash...turn whatever you don't need to carry on your person into money orders and mail them home. To a friend, parent, po box, or yourself. If you loose them you have the stub (make sure to keep that in your wallet/hotel safe) and it'll cost about 8.00 to replace the full value if lost.
When you get home from your trip you'll be happy to open your mail!
Or you can mail it in a money order directly to your bank. It takes a week to clear.

I also do the money order thing rather than travelling back with wads of cash. However, be aware that if you try to buy more than $1000 of money orders in the same place on the same day that a cash transaction report will be sent to the IRS by the post office, grocery store etc. which sold you the money orders.

I don't find there is a problem with money. If you are going to travel you need to have your bills with you and if your bank isn't in the town you work in, just Fed Ex or mail a deposit to your branch when your bills are due.
I only deposit bill money in the bank and one of my two banks is in every town I work in. I like to keep my cash. You don't really make that much to have a problem, especially if you have bills to pay. You can convert you smaller bills into hundreds and fifties which I do and I am slow to break a large bill. Plus we make all our money in cash. If the IRS or some agency were to levy your bank account for some reason everything you have is lost. I don't believe in keeping everything I own in a federal institution. Some of it yes, most of it NO. I have been in situations in life where I would have been on the street if I had all my money in the bank.
I also rarely have the maids service my room. I just get towels and toilet paper from them and have them empty the trash.
I deposit money into my bank (Wells Fargo...ughhh I hate them but they are everywhere) periodically while I am out of town so I can pay bills. I usually head back home with a couple thousand in my purse. It's a little thing I hold under my arm and don't worry about it.

You can also travel in cargo jeans or shorts and button up a nice little bundle of $50's and hundreds in the cargo pockets.![]()

The cargo pockets are a good idea!
I don't like to travel with any money on me (also makes you work harder)...that's just me. I now claim my earnings but have many deductions...house, small business, etc. It is easier for me to put money into the bank. I used to stash all the cash but having it in an safe place gives me peace of mind. That's worth any amount of money to me! Plus you have to use your money to earn more. You can put all your money in different accounts and be just fine. The key is to keep all your money!
I also learned when I'm traveling to use a website called paytrust.com. Its really helpful if your on the road and can't get home on time to get your bills. Me and my husband use it for our business along with me working on the road. All the bills get sent there and I can view them online. I use a verizon wireless card for when I'm on the road in our RV to get online with my laptop. So far, I've only found 2 states my online access doesn't work in. One is Virginia and N. Carolina. Since my husband and I run alot of our business from the road we've compromised with the usual office stuff. For faxing we use efax.com and all of our incoming faxes can get email to our email address. I actually like running the office from the road sometimes. Its fun and I enjoy traveling!
