I just read a thread regarding a dancer's experience with a customer at her club--she said that the guy called her over just to say her shoes didn't do it for him. I once had a customer say to me, "You don't impress me!" I thought that he could have said that in a more tactful manner, like in other words. But if it was meant as an insult, what DO you say to a customer like that?

I believe it's because we're so vulnerable doing what we do, and when arseholes say shit like that they know they are in a position to wound, or at least in some kind of power place that allows them to say shit like that (so they think).
