Also: Pat Benetar. Heart. Blondie. Annie Lennox/Eurythmics. Patty Smyth (I think there is a Patty Smith and a Patty Smyth, but I could just be imagining that!)There's also Fiona Apple. She's more bluesy, but has (I think) a very sexy voice and style.

Holly Golightly sounds like the second coming of Nancy Sinatra -- cool voice and lo-fi recording techniques. Check out "Use Me," the last track on her album God Don't Like It. (She's the guest vocalist on the White Stripes track "Well It's True that We Love One Another.")

And the New Pornographers, when Neko Case is singing lead, deliver some kick-ass rock-poppy goodness. Actually, some of Neko's solo stuff would be pretty good; she's considered alt country, but she's beyond genre once you get past her first album. "Mood to Burn Bridges" could be a good stage song.

Kittie . . . nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! Bad! Bad! Keep it away! How anyone can like their stuff is a mystery. Ten out of ten for being lassies and getting themselves known amongst the millions of guy rockers out there but it's a pity their stuff's so awful, no disrespect to their fans mind

Cyndi Lauper, especially "She Bop"--that is such a delicious song. And Poe--don't forget about her. Jill Sobule's "I Kissed a Girl." The music is kind of well, like mouse food (cheesy), but the lyrics and the voice are very nice.
