    Default getting silicone

hi... i have saline and they are rippling badly since i lost 50 some pounds and my skin is so thin
went to a ps and he said silicone would do the trick
i felt the silicone..and the saline implant.. HUGE difference.. no wonder as soft as mine are they still feel hardish..
id be part of some study for life being monitored.. he said the new ones "wont" break.. well cant gaurentee that but anyways
anyone have them? thoughts? do they get hard? ripple? feel real? i know they are heavier than normal boobies.. thoughts?

I know a girl I work with that has them...they are so awesome..soft...i touch them any chance i get. I honestly have never felt a more natural boobjob. I went to a doctor and was going to get them. (I have since decided not to get a BA) they are much much lighter than saline and so they won't sag and have need to be redone after 5 yrs my doc said. They are more like a gummy bear--if they rupture it won't leak out. or so the companies say. good luck to you.

I am confused about silicone too. I have the option to get them when I replace my saline implants. But I scared of what would happen if they ruptured.

From what I know, silicone nowadays is in the 'cohesive gel' form, so yeah, it's like a gummy bear and won't leak like the old silicone if you rupture.
But...they're fairly new, so no long-term effects known...

I know a girl who just got them done, they looked amazing right off the bat, natural and a bit saggy but not too much...basically they are all but real. However...we'll see what happens in a couple of years.

You can get saline implants "overfilled".I have 500 cc shells overfilled to 650 cc's.You can overfilled by as much as 300 cc's.It's been six years and still no ripple.Hope this helps.

Silicone wasn't banned her for very long, I know people who have the silicone gel which "wont leak" if / when the implant ruptures. It's not true, it CAN still migrate through the body when the implants rupture. I know people who are sick from this stuff. Even solid Silicone can migrate. One case which sticks in my mind is of a man who had silicone calf implants. Years later fragments from the implants were found in the mans lungs.
An FDA study from 2 years ago showed that almost 100% 0f breast implants rupture, 48% happening within 6 years. The group with the least ruptures were implanted prior to 1975 when implants were made with a thicker shell. I assume that's why it's now recomended that women get re-implanted every 4 - 7 years. You can read the study here

Just curious, how long is the study going to go for and what exactly are they going to be looking for? Silicone implants still can go hard from capsuler contracture. This effects almost half of women who have BA and almost 3/4 of women who have reconstruction with implants.
Gosh, I'm all doom and gloom today arn't I?! Think I might avoid this folder for a while (-:

Scarlett_Vancouver, just wanted to say that all silicone implants are cohesive now, but there are different degrees of cohesion. There are silicone implants that are the consistency of hair gel as well as the gummy bear type (I like to refer to it as more like hard set jello, gummy bear seems too hard).

I just got back from the PS this afternoon, and I am going with silicone. I have to pick a date, and I'm good to go.

It is more expensive than saline. It is also not available in larger sizes. So if you are wanting HUGE breasts, you will have to go with saline.

I am getting implants more for me than for work, but I'm sure it won't hurt my income to go up a cup size or two

For thin skin, silicone is said to ripple less than saline and look more natural. However, there are mixed reviews about long terms effects of silicone and if in fact the implants do leak if the silicone causes other health probelms. I am having my BA on Sept. 8 and I am going with saline because I do not qualify for silicone, but I can tell you from firsthand experience from seeing tiher friends implants that silicone (inion) looks much better in terms of rippling than saline. But again there are many factors that cause rippling, but I have a feeling you'll look great!!!

I have salines right now & it's bc I don't qualify to get silicone for the first time of BA. Now I am gonna go back to my PS next week bc I would love to get silicone replaced instead. My salines do not look as natural as I wanted them to look, ppl love the way they look in clothes, but I do have a problem with the left & you can see some ripple in the front if I move a certain way. ALso on the side of my lefty. My lefty is also done wrong, ugh...

But anyway, enough about me. LOL...

Your best bet to get the best info about implants is to go to this forum....

    www.implantforum.com, I think that's it.

    And good luck girl.
