Default Dating Age Range

Ladies, are you asked out by men you consider out of your age range for dating?? Would you like to be asked out by men older than the ones who currently ask you out?

I wouldnt really like to date any guys my age or younger. They seem to be really immature until a certain point. I'd say past 25 and up is ok for me.

I am 41 and seem to attract younger guys more than older guys. Not that i don't mind a younger guy, well can't go into the 20's (again, lol). But damn...I LOVE older men!

I used to think that age doesn't matter as long as your happy but I see things a lot differently now. I am 28 with 2 kids and I am in that weird age group where the guys that are my age still want to play.... the older guys are...well.... just not attractive to me but everything I am looking for emotionally. I know it's shallow but I am just being honest. I have been single for a long time now and will probably stay that way. Unless there REALLY is a perfect guy out there I don't plan on giving up my freedom anytime soon.

I voted for compatability as that is more important than age with me. At the same time, I'm only 25 and I'm not really ready to date someone close to my father's age or older (LOL) That would be more of a hassle with my family accepting him than anything. I don't want to be in a relationship with someone who I can't take to some of the family get-togethers, if you know what I mean ???

The only thing is... I have yet to find someone compatible so I'm not worry-ing about it and quite happy to stay single for many years to come (been single for something like 2 years already now).

My current boyfriend is 11 years older than me. He looks about 26, though so I guess I have the best of both worlds. As for if I had to start dating again, no one younger than me, that's for sure - at least 5 years older if not more. I realize at an early age I was ruined by Indiana Jones, lol.

it doesnt matter how old they are, if your comfterable, who cares what other people think.

i used to think id always date people my age, 3 years was a big age difference for me.

but my current bf is 10 years older! and i have way more fun with him then i do someone my age. i spose i dont have many friend smy age either tho. im 19, the youngest id date somebody is probably 25/26 the oldest..umm maybe 35.

some people can have a mental age far exceeding their phsycal age. its the mental age thats important. phsycal age is jjust a number

With you there mermaidnz! My ex-bf was 10 years older than me physically however mentally he is still in his early twenties. That didn't work for me as I was "growing up" as such and he wasn't... he was quite happy to smoke pot, work as a waiter (he's a good waiter I'll give him that however he's not really going anywhere), play pool (competitively and socially), get pissed (if he isn't already stoned). Nah... he was for me in certain respects but I now know what I want in a person and he had alot of traits that I no longer wanted my SO to have..

So.. happily single until such a time when I meet someone who can meet most of my requirements. Unfortuantely, at the moment, my "pool" is limited hence I'm not actively looking.

I chose 5 years or less. Lately, I have been gaining awesome respect for guys more in my age range, maybe because I mingle with those that tend to be fairly well-travelled and have had some maturing experiences. My current boyfriend just and no more fits into that age range too. I just don't want to date a guy older than me, even though I may find some bloody attractive. I've been there, done that and got the Tshirt. They were the ONLY guys I would date a while ago (if I told you the oldest I ever 'dated', you may be quite shocked) Those are experiences that I'm in no hurry to repeat. And it's always nice to discover new things with someone at the same stage in life as you instead of someone who appears to be going through the motions again.

And besides, I don't want my beau kicking the bucket on me by the time I turn 30. THAT, I will not tolerate.

I voted for 6-10 years above my age. I've never dated anyone my age or younger. Well, that is, until I found my hubby.. lol.. He's a year younger than me. I made an exception for him.

I'm 29, and I couldn't see myself with a guy in his early twenties. They're still a bit too immature for me.

But my boyfriend is 7 years older, and at least we can both laugh at the same pop culture 80's stuff we grew up with...like the hair metal bands, real mosh pits,etc.....there is a lot to be said for having similar generational backgrounds.....

I had a 2 year limit in high school then in collage I moved it to 3 years. I did this because when I was 17 I had 22-42 year olds hitting on me and it was kinda gross, they werent any more mature then guys my age, thats why they were going after teenagers. If I werent married I would prolly have a 4-5 year limit up and a 2 year limit down (20-27 years old). I actually prefer younger guys though, they are easier to train <G>. (my husbands 6 weeks younger ) However he acts much more mature then I do. He is all about getting a nice house set up, and he cleans all the time (almost annoying but I just can't complain). He does this because he says he wants us to have everything ready for our kids, which are still at least 5 years away! If thats not mature I just dont' know....

Before I was married, I would only date men 35 and up. The upside had no limit so long as they could still get it up but I never dated anyone that old anyhow, unless you consider 47 old. I'm 28 now and I was dating about 4 years ago. My husband is 10 years older than me but I like it that way! I have always surrounded myself with intelligent people. Most of them 10 to 15 yrs older than me. I love people who are achievers since that is what I strive to be. My husband has won awards from the president and governor of our state. His IQ is at genius levels and I never really get to brag to many people about his achievements! I feel an achievement for just landing him as my husband but the bigger achievment is keeping him! Besides all that, I still get to f*ck who ever I want so I get the best of both worlds. All with my husband's consent! Love is Grand!!!!

The guys I've dated in the past averaged 7 yrs older then me. The one I'm currently seeing is 7 yrs older then me too. I'm getting a little tired of the talk of kids and moving in and futures. I'm only 19 and am not ready for any of it. I just want to relax and have fun, and be in love. If any thing else should come I want it to come in its own time, not because some guy thinks just because he's almost 30 he needs the picture perfect job, house, and family with a white fence and a puppy. I don't have a problem with older men, in fact I prefer them over men my own age, but I'm in no rush to have all of the above.

I picked 6-10 yrs older. I hate little kids! I have found that in the past most 21-28 yr old males, just don't have their shit straight yet. They think it's much more fun to get drunk and play x box all the time.

I prefer men in their 30's or older.

But like Rhi, I too have a man a little younger that I am. LOL, he's like 3 1/2 months younger, but he is much more mature than most guys his age, or a few years older.

Yes, I'd love to be asked out by men older than the ones who usually ask me out!!! Most of the guys who chat me up or ask me out are aged between 14 and 22 and. I don't really date guys who are more than a year or 2 younger than me, lol.

I'm sorry but that's a pretty low statement. As much as finances might be a part of a relationship and be something we all have to deal with, saying its the "reason" you date older men is pretty low. People have a lot more depth to them and its more than money. I hope you look at more things than this when your looking for someone to date or even consider more than this when your with whomever your with. If not, then I can say its safe to assume I found the most shallow member on this board in my first 24 hours here.

When I was a lot younger, like 20 or 21, I was sooo into older guys like a lot older like twice my age. Now I'd still date the same guys but they aren't so much older. My boyfriend now is a year younger than me and this is the first time in my life I've ever dated a younger guy. My friend's used to tease me about my "daddy complex" I had when they'd see a really old guy and go "Hey, there's a man for me." He'd be like 90 or something.
