There was an incident a few years ago where absolutely top shelf girls were offered contracts to go to Brunei. The girls were paid obscene amounts of money and were virtually put up in a palace. However, the Sultan of Brunei took a personal liking to some of the girls (one was an ex-Playboy Playmate), and simply decided that they should continue to stay after their contract expired i.e. they were not allowed to leave the country. It took a major effort by Playboy Magazine harrassing the US state dep't to pressure the Sultan into letting these girls return home after being "held against their will" for 6 extra months (albeit in a "gilded cage").
My point here is that this part of the world has a history of men dominating women. Dubai is really modern on the outside, but still very traditional on the inside. It is also a Sovereign nation, and one which the US and coalition countries cannot afford to piss off for any reason with a war going on in Iraq and Afghanistan. I would really think twice about this.
yeah i had heard that story, but its all just a bit like the :go o japan and they take your passports off you" one.
if you dont take risks in life, youll never know what opportunity you pass!!
i just want to work in a regular strip club. no private customers etc. just doing the same thing im doing now, just in a different counrty.
i have a friend who is a personal body guard/security who has just moved there,so i thought if would be a good idea considering the money there and the fact i know someone there if anyhitng did go wrong.
I have a friend from Lebanon who lives in Dubai. I don't know much about how the strip clubs are setup, but I do know that most foreign women there, if they are not working in business or retails, etc...are prostitutes. I am also told that a tall blonde white woman is a valuable commodity and can earn lots of money...but not as a stripper....
Honestly, if you have a friend there, I would go visit first and talk to the girls in the clubs, etc...if you can afford to do that...its supposedly really fun there....for rich men....good luck!

The ONLY thing that secured the 'release' of the dozen or so girls was that yet another girl named Rebecca Ferrati accepted a contract to work in Brunei. She also became one of the Sultan's or his brother's favorites and was also not allowed to leave after her contract expired. But unlike the dozen other girls who were previously not allowed to leave, Rebecca was a former Playboy Playmate and also had a number of Hollywood B Movie credits - thus she had people like Hugh Hefner and Hollywood studio execs who knew her, and who were concerned when she did not return as scheduled. Had it not been for this calibre of people being willing to call senators and congressmen on Rebecca's behalf, leading to the US state department taking an active interest in what was going on in Brunei, none of these girls might have ever returned home. As it was, with Brunei being a Sovereign country, no action whatsoever was taken against the Sultan or his brother.yeah i had heard that story, but its all just a bit like the :go o japan and they take your passports off you" one.

As far as the 'myth' of certain Asian clubs attempting to get girls to turn over their passports to the club as a 'security deposit' that they will complete their contracts, I'm sure that a few girls actually were talked into doing this. But this is a different situation in that the clubs involved did not represent the official government of the country, whereas the Sultan and his brother did !
Personally speaking, nobody is going to get a look at my passport unless they are wearing a badge ! I would also never sign on to one of these iron-clad time commitment contracts in exchange for subsidized air fare or subsidized accomodations. The minute you do sign one of these contracts, you are "beholden" to the club, no longer a "free agent", no longer able to negotiate, and otherwise unable to execute the proverbial "F*@K YOU CLAUSE" should the conditions warrant it. Personally speaking, I prefer to pay for my own transportation and accomodations so that I'm free to negotiate AFTER I've seen the club and discovered what the real game is.
Dubai might be a fantastic opportunity for you - particularly if you already have a friend there. However, it definitely involves greater risk. All I'm suggesting is that you exercise caution and not commit yourself to a blind iron-clad contract. No offense intended, but you are not a former Playboy Playmate or Hollywood B Movie actress. If some Sheik should decide that you would make a great addition to his personal harem, who have you got in your corner to call the Foreign Secretary or whatever your home country's equavalent of the Secretary of State is, to convince them to file an official complaint with the Dubai government on your behalf ?
PS the last time I took a blind risk on the promise of earning major easy money, it wound up costing me nearly $10,000 in legal fees to get clear of the complications (and this incident didn't even involve leaving the USA !).
I'm not going to say anything that's ethnically insensitive, because I don't want to be that way. But I also want to be candid.
You don't want to dance in Dubai. Or Brunei. Or Saudi. Or Kuwait. Or the United Arab Emirates. You don't have to believe me, but that's my advice.
thanks for clearing that up for me Melonie.
i understand its not exactly a safe country, yet thousands of tourists go there every year, and most of the country has a lot of money. i dont want to work on a contract basis, i dont even know if there is any strip clubs there!!! i was justlooking into it. on the surface it sounds like a good set up. in sayin that, theres NO way id have sex!! arghh i didnt realise it was that way intended.
im just trying to find information on certain clubs, not agencys, not sultans and no one from brunei!!! and no sex! in fact no touching at all would be great, but understandably not realistic in such a country.
