I'm getting married on May 1st and I'm up to my eyeballs in wedding plans. Yeesh. No wonder people hire coordinators. Anyways, tell me what you think of this potential menu for the reception, which is to be done in a country-Italian (Tuscan) style and during the cocktail hour (appetizers and bar only). Any suggestions are also VERY appreciated, but keep in mind that I want foods that are easy to eat and that can be served either right out of a fridge or room temperature (saves on caterer cost).
Menu
Antipasti (marinated veggies, crudites, a cucumber-tomato-and-feta salad, sliced baguettes with meats and cheeses, cold rotini-and-veggie salad)
Prosciutto with Melon
Miniature Napoli Marguerite-style pizzas (pizza dough rounds topped with tomato, basil, mozzerella and olive oil).
Phyllo (a delicate, thin pastry dough) filled with spinach and feta/ mozzerella, tomato and sausage/prosciutto and peach chutney/prosciutto, chicken and swiss cheese (maybe brie? I'm still debating) and then baked.
For dessert, there is the obligatory wedding cake plus:
Chocolate Dipped Strawberry Hearts (when sliced in half lengthwise, strawberries form a heart shape... I thought this was clever)
Pumpkin Tartlets drizzled with White Chocolate and a walnut half.
I still have to get with my bartender and figure out exactly what I want, but I'll be limiting bar costs by only serving two or three selections. Sangria for sure (no, it isn't Italian, but I love it), some sort of Mimosa or champagne cocktail and... something else. Dunno.
Ideas, comments, suggestions? Is this too much, not enough of a selection, does it sound tasty to most people?
