I am one of the ones who recommended these pills in another thread. My hair wouldn't grow at all for months and months because of chemical damage and I saw these pills at Wal Mart for $5 ( i think there's 60 in a bottle). They are in the vitamin/diet supplement section. They are big pills, but go down smooth and they are absolutely amazing!! Everyone still thought I had extensions. I strongly recommend it. It's a white bottle with orange letters that say HAIR. They also have one for nails, although I've never tried that one.

Anyone care to tell what the heck is the ingredients in thse pills? I never heard of growth that fast. I am glad your hair is growing very fast! Nice!

the supplement facts at the very bottom says it also contains:Cellulose, calcium phosphate, steric acid, magnesium stearate, silicon dioxide, food glaze and vanilla

it says one take one tablet but I myself have been taking two...I been drink a glass of milk everytime I take these pills because they go down smooth for me.......one in the morning .....and one before bed.I really don't know 2 much about what vitamins are good for my hair...........all I know is I tried everything.....I tried HAIR,SKIN AND NAILS, and other stuff sold at Sallys beauty sup...OH and Ive changed my diet......more fruits and veggs..cut soda and other sugar drinks...I can't see why anyone would get results using this product........after all I came to a stand still after having my kids....My hair would even grow with all the vitamins I was taking before and after the baby........I just hope that I keep getting those results after using this product for the next year...........I wanna grow my hair back to my lower back...short hair is sexy but not on everyone............. I wanna get outta the wearing my hair in a ponytail habit

Chynadoll, I know you listed ingredients but did you list them all? I'm just wondering if the have anything in them that might be a soy product (I can't take soy). That is, if you would be so kind. I hate to give Wal-Mart money unless I have a really good reason

My hair grows fast but I am trying to grow out some layers that are damaged from highlighting. Faster would be better! Thanks!

I haven't taken these pills in months, but I'll try to remember to pick up a bottle tomorrow being that I have to go to Wal-Mart anyway, and I'll list all the ingredients for everyone. They also made my hair soft and thick. What is Silica and is it bad for you? I never had any side effects with this stuff. When I first bought it I didn't think it would even work because it was so cheap, but I had spent tons of $$$ and tried everything else, so I figured what the hell? Funny how $5 solved my problem!

I looked for these the other day at my local Wal-Mart and didn't see them. I was looking in the vitamin section near the pharmacy--is that where they are or was I looking in the wrong place? I didn't have a lot of time so I didn't look very hard or ask anyone though. Are they in all Wal-Marts? I'd definitely like to try them!

PS does anyone know WHY these things work? Just a little worried about long term side effects.

A 100 year old, blind hairdresser(not literally) I went to made one fatal cut to my hair years ago and for another girl to fix it, I had to lose about 9-10 inches, so my hair was a little longer than chin length when I left the place and I didn't want to even walk outside. I cried for days. Then, as if things weren't bad enough, I thought I could make my brown hair look better by stripping it and dying it platinum blonde. Well, to TRY and make a long story short, I wound up stripping it about 4-5 times in a 36 hour period to try and get rid of all the brassy orange, so even though I dyed it back, my hair didn't grow at all for months. I had wigs, pony tails pieces, and extensions. As months passed by, with hair that still barely touched my shoulders, I found the pills at WalMart. And my hair started visibly growing after about 2-3 weeks, after hardly growing at all for what seemed like forever. After about 6 months, my hair was a totally new texture. It was soooo soft and strong. If I had to guess, I'd say it grew about 1 1/2 inches a month. I was so thrilled after about 4-5 months. As I think someone else stated, I also took one before bed and one with my lunch. I don't know if these results are typical or not, though. It was amazing how healthy my hair became. No amount of conditioning ( I've tried every deep conditioner on the market) did for me what these pills did. Now everyone's getting me all paranoid about whats in them??!!LOL. Like I said earlier, I'll try to post the ingredients by tomorrow night if anyone else is interested.

Okay, okay, I have these pills, too. Here's what I've found out about hair growth and hair health (I'm going for waist-length hair). No matter what texture your hair is, it grows about 1/2 of and inch to 1 inch per month. Kinkier hair and chemically treated hair only seems to grow slower because the hair is more brittle and breaks off. Plus, with kinkier hair, the hairs have to zigzag out of the follicles instead of just shooting right out. You can encourage your hair follicles to grow out more hair, and stronger hair, by what you eat. This is where the vitamins come in. If you want to encourage hair growth, you have to do it from the inside. The vitamins contain the nutrients necessary for promoting hair growth. The "Wal-mart" vitamins are by Calif/Natural, and the ingredients are: ///Vitamin A Thiamine Riboflavin Niacin Folic Acid Vitamin B12 Biotin Pantothenic Acid Iodine Zinc Copper Manganese Choline Inositol PABA and also cellulose calcium phosphate stearic acid magnesium stearate, silicon dioxide, food glaze, and vanilla/// The ingredient in these vitamins and in virtually all hair vitamins that really encourages the growth is Biotin, which is essential for growth and strength. From what I have read, there is no known toxic amount of Biotin. However, depression can occur if too much Biotin is ingested. The recommended daily amount of Biotin is something like 100 mg. The vitamins do not say that they contain soy. Some other tips to promote hair growth is to massage your scalp everyday---it encourages blood flow to the follicles, and the bloodflow stimulates the follicles. Also, Rosemary oil is supposed to stimulate the hair follicles as well. And since exercise increases blood flow, guess what, that should encourage hair growth as well. I am currently taking these Wal-Mart vitamins, and they seem to work. I have taken other vitamins for hair, but these seem to work the best. My hair seems to grow at the average rate, but my hairdresser is always like, "wow--your hair is getting long." I think I'll start taking two a day instead of one! They can double as a multi-vitamin, too.

Are these the tablets (or similar)? I want to order them if be the case.

Click 'more info' to see the label. I hope the % daily values are the same as the walmart pills.

I saw too different brands at Walmart last night. The one described by Exotica had those ingredients pretty much. I asked my doctor about them, he said a person will get the same results by taking 2 Flinstone vitamins daily. And too watch out for the Vit. A. See if it's a high dose, (more than a multi) as Vit. A. is toxic.

I only take a muliti. But every day. I believe i am getting better hair growth with fruits vegetables lots of water, washing my hair only 3 times a week and exercise! also hair growth is linked to coconut oils on the head as well.

I have a heart condition and my doc said best for me to avoid because the ingredients have fillers that the FDA does not have to list.

I am sooo happy all you ladies found hair growth pills! I still have much to donate however, as my hair is growing out again! Kinda sucks, because i can't make up my mind anymore.

Think i will let it grow for the summer, and in winter maybe get a sexy new cut and colour!

The pills sound great! Guess i am just unsure with my heart, as too much magnesium (which is good for the heart) will put me in Tachycardia.
