    Default Diet pills?

Ok....been going to the gym (3.5 miles in 65 min [averaging 3.2mph on a 11% incline], burning 400+ Cal, then some stretching) and eating better (on and off--I never eat WORSE than I used to though), but I'm not losing ANY weight. And no, I'm not gaining muscle--all the clothes fit the same and my trusty tape measure isn't changing its mind either. What more can I do? I don't have ANY spare time at the moment (even fitting in 1.5-2 hours for the gym is tough or impossible). Should I try a diet pill? I looked at sale ads at the mall GNC and Vitamin Shop but everything is SOOOO expensive!!!! Anyone know anything CHEAP that is still effective? Any other tips you could give me. ???

PS and no, I haven't hit a plateau--I NEVER lost any weight and it's been a month!

Number one - the part that plays the biggest role is diet. At least that's what I've learned throughout the years. You can't just try to eat healthy here and there. It has to be a permanent staple in your life. Fuck diet pills. Yeah I took them for a couple of years and got super skinny, but man oh man, did they ever do a number on me! Blah! First evaluate your eating habits, work on that, and then move on to your physical routine. But that's just my opinion.

you may be doing too much cardio, too. 65 min seems like a lot, especially if you are hitting a higher target heart rate than is useful for FAT burning. Does your machine have a button for that, that tests your heart rate every few minutes?

LOL lexi you alway beat me to it!!!

I was going to say the exact same thing.... i think that 65mins is too much... trust me longer is not always better. You would be better of if half an hr of that was cardio and the other half was resistance training ( weights ) ...... I would suggset interval training, this is best for maximum fat burning.

Also take a good look at your diet. Last year when i was trying to loose weight, i thought that because i was working out constantly it was OK for me to be a little slack in the diet part... WRONG! Some ppl are lucky that they can loose weight by exercising and still eat whatever they want (in moderation of course) but i came to realise that i am not one of those lucky ppl.

Personally i think you should try cutting down on the carbs and i DO NOT mean cut them out ALL together..... this is far more safer than any diet pills. I would cut out potatoes, bread, sugar, pasta, white rice and all other processed foods high in carbs. Also stay away from "lowfat" products, they are packed with sugar..... and watch the fruit.

    Seraya.

You need to really see what you are eating. Also, not eating ENOUGH during the day will cause problems too. You should be eating just about every 2-3 hours...otherwise, your body goes into starvation mode and stores EVERYTHING you put into it...good or bad.

You are doing WAY too much cardio. 30 minutes of intense INTERVAL cardio is more than enough. You can do it every day or you can do it 3x's a week. A weight lifting routine should be done every other day. On day one, you lift weights for your upper body (chest, back, shoulder, bi's and tri's), on the second day you lift for your lower body (glutes, hams, calves, and then do abs). You just keep alternating.

Last...you need to be patient. Sometimes when we diet a lot (in the past) it really throws our bodies off and that can take a little bit of time to "correct". However, most people get discouraged after a few weeks of working out and not seeing any "results" (they're there...you just aren't seeing them physically). The results of a month of working out are stabalizing your body...usually after 4 weeks, you will start to see the pounds melt away. You are SO close...so don't stop now!! Make a few adjustments and just keep going!!

I have just started taking duromine, an appetite suppresser, I have yet to see if it works or not though.
