Default I need a miracle pill! Please Help

I am 22 years old and I just had my second baby 5 months ago. I have been back to work for about 3 months and everyone thiks I look great. But I am 30 pounds over my average weight!!! I just stopped breastfeeding this week and I need to shed the pounds.

I know pills are not the way most would approve of and I am willing to work hard to shed the pounds. But I need a jumpstart.

Honestly girls... have any of you taken any "miracle pills" or drinks? I Can you reccomend something to me? I took dexatrim in the past and it made me sick to my stomach. I need something POWERFUL, and most of all FAST- maybe leptoprin? Please help me out with some advice. The weight is truly lowering my confidence and affecting my money. I will appreciate all who reply. Thank you. [email protected]

There is no such thing as a miracle pill. Try the Weight watchers in your area. You should lose 4 lbs or so body weight in the first week (mostly water) and then 1-2 lbs per week thereafter.

Also, if you change your diet, your body will take time to readjust. Pills that supress appetite put your body into crisis mode, and you just gain it right back as soon as you go off the pill.

you probably won't be at your pre-pregnancy weight till your baby is about a year old.

Have you tried a meal replacement protein shake? My fave is call Spiru-tein. You can find it in a health foods store and it comes in all sorts of yummy flavors.

I used Spiru-tein and within 3 months I dropped 20 lbs. I had a shake for breakfast and lunch and then a low carb dinner and if I was hungry for snacking, I had a low carb snack... it totally worked for me and that is with no working out. I don't have time to work out.

Thanks for the advice... But is there some kind of pill I can take with the shake? I have done Slim Fast and it was working great for a week. But I was soooooo hungry! Even with the meal and snacks. I need something to fight the hunger.. and what kind of snacks are low carb? I am not worried that I will gain it back later. I dropped the weight from my first son very fast and never gained it back until I got pregnant with my daughter. I just need a jumpstart to shed really fast 10 or 20.

Slim fast is crap. Spirutein is infinately better. I don't know about any kind of pill. I guess you'd need some sort of amphetamine. I took those before (recreationally) a friend of mine had quit smoking but was worried about gaining weight (she gained 20+ pounds the first time she quit) so the doc gave her some amphetamines to keep her weight down. This was 10 years ago tho I don't know what it was he gave her. Good Lord I was bouncing off the walls tho.

I took Spirutein when I decided to go back to dancing... a month prior to going back, I lost 20 pounds... I also take Tonalin CLA to firm and tone... there are a couple of posts here. I do not have to take Spirutein anymore because I keep losing weight as time goes on, but I did need something to jump start me and this helped. Now, I didn't look like I needed to lose weight, but I hide my weight very well, but I still had some extra weight from having my daughter, so I did the Spirutein every other day and I still lost 20 pounds... I can't imagine how much I woul dhave lost if I did it every day for four weeks... I also took a friend's Phentermine for a day and it made me sick.. my head felt like bugs were crawling on it and I coudln't go to sleep... I can't imagine taking those all of the time!!!!

There are no magic pills for anything, but there is a magic PROCESS to weight loss. Definately limit or elimate ALL STARCHES. No more pasta, popcorn, corn, potatoes, rice, bread, cookies, cakes, muffins, cereals, or grains. All processed grains and refined grains and sugars are new to the human body (within the past 10k years) and we don't have the enzymes to process them and they are stored as fat. The next item to take off your list is Dairy. Stop using milk, yogurt, cheese, and eggs. These items are also new to the human diet (about 5 thousand years)and very poorly digested (and very acidic and mucus forming). As far as fruit is concerned, try to stay away form very high glycemic fruits and concentrate on lower glycemic fruits like blueberries and apples. Hybridized fruits like bananas and watermelons should be used sparingly when attempting weight loss due to their high sugar to mineral content. Increase your intake of high fiber foods like celery and greens. I used the fruit for breakfast, large salad for lunch, low carb-dinner sucessfully and have seen many others do the same. Another thiung to monitor is salt intake. High salt intake means high water-retention. I have heard of people losing fifteen pounds in a week by totally elimating salt from their diets. Lastly, get at least 30 mins of exercise EVERY DAY. One hour is best, but a minimum of 30 mins. Yoga, spinning, pilates, weight training, areobics, running, jogging, rollerblading, biking, whatever. Just get the heartrate up and the blood flowing. Exercising in the morning will make the body burn calories all day rebuilding the muscle tissue. This is the ideal time to exercise. Please do not resort to these pills you see on tv to lose weight. Make some lifestlye changes that will keep you healthy and in shape for life. These magic weight loss pills can be dangerous to the body, and are just a band-aid approach, not a long term solution. You can very realistically lose 2-3 pounds a week eating right and exercising. Check out www.mercola.com , this doctor has very practical advice and recipies for attaining a very healthy, fit body.

Couldn't have put that any better myself Ryan!

Oh Kelly the 30mins of cardio everyday ryan suggest is a good idea, just make the 30mins of cardio an interval cardio workout to get maximum fat burning.

I say keep on dancing! It's great for toning and weight lose! Drink your water, and eat right. You had a baby, and losing that "extra" amount of weight gained takes time.

    Ryan gave great advice!!!!

I gained 50 pounds when I was pregnant, and now I have dropped all but about 5 or 6 pounds. It took about 9 months to a year after the baby was born. I recommend exercising--even if it is just walking or jogging with your baby for 20 mins. three times a week. I rollerskated with my baby, too. Watch your calorie intake--it worked pretty well for me. Find out what your caloric intake is supposed to be, and eat less than it is supposed to be. I did that for about a month, and I think I lost some weight doing that. I don't do the calorie count thing anymore, because it WAS annoying. As far as the pills go, I danced with a girl who was quite large (horribly, my now hubby and his friends had nicknamed her "wideload"). Anyway, I think she took Metabolife and dropped those pounds SO fast, and she looked great the last time I saw her. I don't think it's healthy to drop the weight that fast, and I have heard that the pills screw up your metabolism and actually makes it slower. But they do work. So in conclusion, I would say to exercise, watch calories, and oh, GREEN TEA. It keeps your body cleansed, it helps your skin, and it helps boost your metabolism.

I try to walk each day.. I have a gym membership but the gym is so far away that I never go! I need a workout partner or something. I am out of shape so when I work out hard I actually feel dizzy and sick. Then I get really hungry and it defeats the whole purpose. Thanks for all of your advice. I appreciate your time and concern. Hearing stories about other girls that dropped a lot of weight is very encouraging. Metabolife? Hmmm... wonder if that is like dexatrim? So has anyone tried "leptoprin"? Or whatever that pill is that is over $100 a bottle?

Maybe you are getting dizzy because you are not taking in the amount of energy you are burning off. The more you exercise, the more you get to eat. Go to calorie-count.com--it has calculators to figure out your daily caloric needs as well as how many calories you can have a day in order to lose weight. Also go to caloriecontrol.org--it shows how many calories you burn doing certain exercises. The motto for weight loss is "Eat less, exercise more", however, again, don't eat so much less that you don't have the energy to do the exercising! That will slow your metabolism down because your body will be trying to conserve energy. You can do it!

That pill, Leptoprin--I don't know anyone who has taken it. I assume that the pill suppresses your hunger, since leptin is a chemical that our bodies make, and it tells our brains that we are full. Those pills are so expensive, like $135 per bottle!
