Default the incredible geekiness of being

So I'm chatting with this customer, and he just is seeming pretty bitter, eventually he askes if I have a boyfriend, but before I can even answer he's like "yeah, I bet you do, probably some big jock-type of guy..."
and right about here I burst out laughing
me: "Oh no! my boyfriend is such a geek."
    him: "really?"
me: "Yeah! On our second date he made a D&D reference to the outfit I was wearing, com'on!"
    him: "oh."

after that he seemed to subletly approve of me, and tipped me when I went up on stage.

And to prove we're both dorks:
me: "babe! I had a really good night, let's do something fun tomorrow!"
him: "what do you want to do?"
me: "let's go to the comic book store!"

Let's note, I live like half a block from an excellent dancer/porn/toys etc store. instead we go buy comics and bought him a D&D book.

"so are there any other nerdy strippers?" his friend askes me. I have no idea. Whatcha y'all say?

my bf... total geek! I guess he's a geek about normal things (cars, tools, entertainment equipment, etc.) but the way he speaks and his mannerisms definately scream "DORK"! It makes it kind of Ironic that I'm with him, I'm a total big-city girl, with my street attitude and style, but I guess opposites really do attract!

I'm a giant geek. I couldn't live without my computer, I used to roleplay (now, I live in a different area so I don't have anyone to play with), I play video games. I'm also a giant bookworm.

    My boyfriend is the same.

Nuttin wrong with being a geek. When I was a young man I wore glasses complete with tape on the bridge of my nose and a pocket protector full of drippy Bic pens. Now I own my own business, have two nice houses, drive an Escalade and make enough money to keep several strippers very happy. See..sometimes there is a happy ending.

most of the guys I date are geeks. I guess I'm kinda one too. I had no friends in high school, but I think that's more 'cause everyone got on my nerves.

as i type this tech tv is on, Leo is doing the cable in the classroom portion of call for help. our cable box is programed to revert to tech tv whenever it is turned off. We have 4 computers in our house; 2 laptops, a duely video server, and my desktop. My favorite movie when I was a little kid was "the hobbit", when I was in high school my now husband got me into larping, we were both in computer club. I just saw a commerical for tonights body hits about vacation stress and what it does to your body, told the tivo to record it since I will forget to watch. My husbands a professinal geek (he hates it when I call him that), he can do things with a computer most people can't even dream of. Oh, I was also in band in high school.

    Geeks are sexy.

Who said we're not happy now?

In high school, it might be bad to be called a geek, but out in the Real World, it's just another stereotype. I've been called a lot of worse things. Besides, I self-identify as a geek.

I am a geek in two ways.

I am a Lord of the Rings geek. I have seen the first two movies countless times...we have satellite and every time I browse through channels and see LoR is on, I become instantly addicted and cannot turn it off lest work calls. I saw Return of the King twice in the theaters and if I wasn't broke I would've gone at least 1 or 2 more times.

I am a computer geek. I have accounts with match.com, hotornot.com, xanga.com, and friendster.com, plus I have a personal website. To be fair, I do spend my entire workday in front of a computer, which has definitely contributed to my Internet addiction.

I am no mere geek, I am the Ubergeek, the Grand Poohbah of All That Is Geeky.

I was in Oddessy of the Mind (from the time I was seven).

My dad used to ground my brother by taking away his Nintendo. Not me, oh no. He took away my books.

I quoted Khruchev at the dinner table when I was twelve. (...hadn't discovered Nietzsche yet)

Not only was I in the band, but I was first-chair trombone. I was also a stage tech after school.

I own Sailor Moon movies, and watch them when the kids aren't awake. Furthermore, I was proud when a nameless girl in the anime section dubbed me Sailor Neptune (subtitle: perfect skin and hair).

My BF called today, whom I haven't seen in two weeks, and we spent an hour discussing a computer game. Just call us the Duo of Dork.

I can quote both The Family Guy and Star Wars at will. I have read most of the Expanded Universe and was a long-time member of a Star Wars website.

I am a LOTR nutcase. I quote Gollum for no obvious reason. I own both the original and the Extended Edition DVDs of both FOTR and TTT, and have them nearly memorized. I studied Quenya (hell, it's geeky enough that i know what Quenya is).

    And the grand finale....

I own a website on which the primary pages are a message board devoted to LOTR and LOTR fan fiction. And yes, I write fan fiction.

He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster. And if you gaze for long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you. ~ Friedrich Nietzsche

Wooohoo Lilith.. lol.. That's one heck of a geek resume.

I'm fascinated by the LOTR trilogy. I love that he stuck pretty much to the wonderful books of the great Tolkien. I am a total geek for those book-to-movie things.

I have a total geek fetish. My hubby is a total geek. Loves his D&D, Diablo, Doom, etc.

Hell, if any of you have been in chat when we were discussing hotties, you'd know my taste in men by my list.. My number 1 fantasy man is Conan O'Brien. Everyone thinks I'm totally dorky, but I find him incredibly sexy!

    I. Am. A. Geek.

I was in Odyssey of The Mind too! In High School, we called ourselves the Nerd Herd. I went to a school for 'em. So did my roomate. It was called vanguard. What it really was: whipping out the fingerpaints and talking about our "feelings". My husband was confused when I went to visit my alma mater-there were people hoppong across the courtyard.

My Boy is a geek. An incredibly adorabe one who hold his glasses together with twist ties.

I don't want to come across with a "geekier than thou" attitude but geek is my last name here. My real name is geekier than that.

I was a former altar boy. Actually had a pocket protector. Have a circular slide rule and know how to use it. Futhermore I know WHY it works. Spent $150 on a calculator because it could do square roots. Once made $1.25 an hour for a regular job and LIKED it. Registered for the draft and voting on the same day in 1971, and can remember gasoline for less than 30 cents a gallon + you got green stamps and glasses (steak knife gasoline cost $0.32). Have 2 unopened 7-UP 7oz. bottles in the closet and learned geography by collecting free road maps at gas stations and planning trips. Collected postcards, coins.

And the grand finale--my ex-girlfriend had slept with more women than I had. And she was straight--crazy but straight.

I'm a baby geek then. I am very tame compared to everyone here...

I love Star Wars and have watched the OT and Episode 2 (can only take Jar Jar in VERY small doses so I avoid watching Episode 1). I got in costume when I was in line awaiting the Episode 2 premiere.... I had the guts after seeing how damn fun it was to be "in line" for Star Wars with Episode 1.

With Episode 3.. I bought a Princess Leia costume when she was a slave girl to Jabba the Hutt. The costume itself cost me a mint at the time (due to USD-AUD conversion) then a little more in getting customs to give me it. All because I want one of THE best costumes at the Primere.. to be photographed the most.

I love LoTR! I have seen the trilogy back2back at the local cinemas once (they did a movie marathon) and plan to do it again (due to them winning Best Movie.. YAY! The local cinemas are doing another movie marathon). Saw all three separately before those movie marathons and love the Extended Editions... totally can't wait for RoTK extended version.

No D&D or other role playing even tho' I tried my hand at it once and didn't quite get into it. My flatmate is the geek in re: to D&D. He has his group over weekly.

No PS2 or XBox due to the fact that my flatmate is constantly on them (they're located in his room). He has both hooked up to a surround sound system and decent sized (and quality) TV. It is gamer heaven except for the fact that he can't connect to the internet from his room (otherwise he would be).

I'm more a geek on the Internet side of things. Been online since late 1996. Always have multiple email addresses (one for this, one for that, one for something else). Had numerous/several homepages when I was first connected... that only lasted until around 1998 when life started to interrupt me and I wasn't able to maintain them (this was when geocities was still rather small and hence I had a whole heap of geocity addresses).

Nowdays.. I only a few homepages and they don't get updated much at all as I rather spend my time on message boards (different subjects not just stripping even tho' this one IS addictive).

I'm a geek however I'm a baby or mild one compared to some of you...

I'm a geek. I skipped a grade and finished high school at 16. I was a National Merit Semifinalist.

I love Buffy and Angel. I read J.K. Rowling and Philip Pullman. And scifi.

I do my own website. I taught myself how.

And I used to publish a fanzine with the word "Geek" in the title.

I was in Oddessy of the Mind starting in 3rd grade, lol.
I was also in TAG (talented and gifted), and in second grade I made my parents switch me to public school because my private one didnt have any accelerated courses so I was bored in class. (dont most kids entertain themselves with spitballs and boogers when class is boring???)

Oddly enough, I've noticed a direct corrolation between "geekiness" and success in dancers. You wouldn't think it, and yet I've seen it time and time again. I can't tell you how many dancers I know that do really well in this business and don't go out partying all night...they go home and play The Sims.

Being a little geeky though is actually a good thing for business too though. In Vegas, we have several technology related conventions roll into town bringing 100,000+ people an event. COMDEX and CES are two biggies, and NAB is in town next week in fact. I always tell dancers who aren't technically minded to get a "Computers for Dummies" book or some sort, or subscribe to a PC magazine or two. The more you know about the business your customers are in the better.

That's easy to explain, DW. Geeky dancers automatically set the customer at ease, because we're less intimidating.
