Default Home Pole- set up, break down & store?

I would like to get a pole for my house but I want to use it and then be able to store it.
How difficult is the set up and break down of one of those Platnium Stages? How much room is needed to store it ?
Anyone have a suggestion for an alternative ?

Do a quick search of the site and you will find great info about this. There is a link somewhere around here for a pole that hooks into the ceiling and is stabilized on bottom, but it can be completely removed and it only looks like a plant hook.

If I had a garage I would definetely build my own pole. Don't pay too much for one of those huge poles with the heavy stage attached. I don't know where the hell people would store one of those things!!

There are do-it-yourself directions here somewhere.

my fiance told me he'd do that for me when and if i actually do decide to dance, even if it's only be part-time. yeh like she said before me, do some research on it. i know you can get portable practice barres for ballet so you should be able to get a practice pole and stage platform for exotic dance.

I have a Lil Mynx pole, it is great! It can be installed easily anywhere you have enough room to use it. I took a ceiling fan down and put it where the fan used to be. So if I need to take it down, it's simple and I just put the fan back up.

    Try these sites:

    www.platinumstages.com

    www.lilmynx.com

Both of them have poles you can take down and store and Platinum Stages just came out with a new pole that you don't even need a hook at the top for. It uses friction grip for both the top and bottom and you can now use it on both carpet and hard floor surfaces. It also changes from a stationary to a spinning pole all in one. It looks awesome. I just saw it on their site tonight. I ordered it and I'll let everyone know once I get it if it works well.

I bought the basic stripper pole from Platinum Stages.....the one that has bases top and bottom.....I set it up in my living room.....it actually works/looks awesome!!! I leave the top base in the ceiling, but take the rest of it down on the weeks I have my kids (I share them every other week with their dad). I have it mounted on carpet, and even though the 3 small mounting holes in the floor are barely noticable when the base is removed, I have a throw rug over the whole room anyway........it takes me all of 10 minutes to get the whole thing set up. And less than that to take it down........my boyfriend installed it for me.....I had to borrow a friends hammer drill to drill the holes in the floor....but it was easy.

I'm a total newbie, and I just wanted to get used to the pole so I didn't feel like such a dork on stage! I'd highly suggest one of these to anyone!!

I love those pole sites, when i get paid im going to get one for my living room. They are great excercise! Plus since i dont strip anymore, this will get it out of my system, i can do little strip shows for my man. Loves it!

I built my own with lumber and floor tiles from Home Depot and a piece of pipe ordered from Pacific Steel. I loved the look on the guy's face d: as he was cutting me an 8' length of stainless steel 2" pipe, I widh I'd had a camera. Anyways, where I work, you can come in early and practice on the stage before they open. You could try asking someone at your club if you can come in and practice during the day, that's what I do.

    Hi everyone
Does anyone know about how much room would be needed for the pole?
I live in a small studio apartment and i want to be sure it will fit before I buy one. I have about 4 feet to work with. So do I have enough width to do proper spins without kicking my foot though my window?
Does anyone else have a pole in a small place? If so does this work out o.k?
I have been dancing for a year but have no upper body strength. Somehow my legs got all the muscle. I hate that I can't do any pole tricks and am dying to learn but I need a pole in my apt. so I can learn something.
How long does it usually take before you are able to climb/swing upside down and look smooth and not ungraceful(which is my fear and why Inever get on the pole at work)
And does anyone have any good starting out tips.
    Thanks so much.

To see if you have enough room, and you dont have a pole yet, just set something on the floor and pretend that it's the base of your pole. Lay down on the floor with your foot touching the object you put down, and then stretch out. If any part of your upper body touches your furniture, walls, etc. then you do not have enough room. You should always have enough space between your pole and everything else to equal your total body length.

Okay so I got the removable static/ spinning pole from Platinum Stages. It's a pole like any other pole. The only gripe I have in the thing on the bottom (look at picture http://www.platinumstages.com/showItem.asp?pid=14176 ) I keep knocking my feet into it since I'm still not a 100% use to it. The set up was easy. Taking it down easy also.

I may have many faults, but being wrong ain't one of them.
