Default Fat vs. Skinny...... a guy's perspective

OK, all this talk about girls thinking they are too chunky, or that older guys prefer more curvy girls has got me thinking. And if any of you guys out there want to smack me down or correct me, feel free. But I don't think it's so much that older men prefer girls with more meat on their bones or anything like that. I think that you girls worry WAY too much about how fat or how skinny you are. It's all about the confidence and the way you project yourself. As was stated on this forum earlier, "Confident women = beautiful women". Considering myself as what some would call "an older guy" (as opposed to the 20 somethings) I can tell you that it has nothing to do with me liking a girl with more meat on her bones and everything to do with the way she presents herself and the confidence that she has. I think these young Barbie girls KNOW that you are intimidated by them and it gives them confidence and it projects in the way they dance and the clientele that they attract. I don't think any guy goes to a club thinking,"I'm gonna find me a skinny girl to dance for me.". It's all about the girl who looks like she's having fun. The girl who looks like the type of girl you would love to spend time with, because isn't that really what it's about? You're selling fantasy. Most guys' fantasy is being with a girl who looks like she's having fun. And she doens't have to be Barbie. I'm not trying to preach to anyone I just think that all women -whether they are dancers or not- tend to focus way too much on how they look. I think most guys would tell you that when it comes right down to it, it's not all about how skinny you are. It's how you carry yourself. Just something to think about. Guys, if you think I'm wrong, please indulge me! Talk to you all later.

as a self-proclaimed "fat girl"...and, really, who am I kidding, I'm 5'7" and 160 lbs atm, which is DAMN big lemme tell ya!...guys DO love girls of all sizes. HOWEVER, that changes when the clothes come off....at least in my own personal experience. As I've mentioned before, I've done a few amateur contests. During those times, I've had FLOCKS of guys at my side asking when I was going on, if they could get dances, etc. BUT, the moment I got up there and started taking stuff off and they realized I was at least 30 pounds heavier than any girl there, with two big very distinct rolls of fat on my belly, they sure weren't interested then. They ALL turned and had a drink at the bar, totally ignoring me. This happened EVERY time I went even when I TOLD the guys that this happened last time. No matter how many times they said "no you're not fat, I can't wait to see you on stage" they turned and ran at the sight of a non-flat stomach. I don't blame them though....I don't find it attractive either. If another dancer came on that looked like me, I wouldn't tip her either. That's just the way it is. Yes, it is frustrating and yes, some girls are WAY too critical (if ya don't got rolls of fat that stick out at least an inch while you're standing up then don't complain to me!).

I guess what I'm trying to say is that a guy can LIKE a "fat girl" but ya ain't gonna tip her for her body like you will a thin girl.

(Sorry if this doesn't make any sense or doesn't apply.....been drinking......very bad day.....birthday is tomorrow.....nobody cares.....I'm fat, poor, lonely, and sad.......wishin' I could be at a strip club making money)

    Awwweee

    SCgirl

Happy birthday tomorrow (or today by the time this posts?)

    Sorry you're feeling sad

But you can do it...I know how much you want to dance to take care of your money situation and the lack of time due to school.

    I hope you have a better B-day .

Yes, Happy Birthday, sweetie! I know that this is WAY easier said than done, but try to pull yourself out of this rut instead of wallowing in it, because wallowing will only cause you to go into a downward spiral. Believe me, I know. BTW, when I was a dancer, I was very thin and nobody ever did anything for my birthday at my club (except for two very sweet girls--it was the one time out of like, 4 birthdays). I am happy to hear you letting it all out, that usually helps you to feel better.

Happy Birthday SCgirl! I have a huge family and hundreds of acquaintances, yet no one ever seems to remember my birthday. I always try to make a big deal out of birthdays because of that. And it seems by your post that people respond to you face-to-face because of your personality...who cares about what they think of you when baring it all totally naked. No one is perfect.

I agree it's all about confidence, but sometimes girls who don't work out and are all soft and lazy are just not appealing no matter how awesome they think they are.

I believe it takes a highly level of physical fitness, not so much beauty, to be a successful dancer.

    Happy birthday, SCGirl!

From another "older" guy's perspective, I do love a woman with a little "meat" on her. It sounds like you've just lost your confidence a bit. You can be sucessful! You're good and you know it! And more importantly, we know it! We all love you here.
    Now, how about that dance?

I figured the "meat on her bones" made for a better lap dance.

But yeah, I think women are always too down on themselves. Even the girls that I'd consider perfect think you're starig at their cellulite when you're staring at them in admiration.

I consider myself a heavier dancer (5'9", 155), and I am confident. I love the way I look, but I can't deny this compelling urge to lose weight anyway.....not sure why

i'll tell you why, because every advertisement in every fashion magazine out there features bone-thin women with as many curves as a toothpick. hmmm....great what that says when you read b/w the lines,

i wish i could pick up a magazine without having to look at anorexics on every page making me feel like i'm an alien for having muscles and an ass.

    Happy belated birthday SCGirl!

And in tie with SCGirl and TMan's points- the stripclub is NOT a real accurate representative approach to beauty or womanhood. It's a microscopic, harsh, spotlight look at women to expose their every flaw, detail and insecurity.

Seriously, I know women that work the clubs that many would easily categorize as perfect "10's"- flawless, yet they have a grocery list a mile long of things they are unhappy about, feel insecure with and also directly attribute to their lack of success on the hustle and tip cycle. It's absolutely absurd.

Also, I know several women that I'd categorize as the epitome of beauty and female form that never get hired at stripclub auditions as they are simply "plain" by comparison to a lot of the big-city silicon, plastic surgery and barbie doll figures therein.

The absolute BEST stage show I've ever seen in my entire life was from a very heavy girl. Think about 5'4, 180lbs... yes, she was big. She wound up with >$40 rail tips and had a line 5-long (me as #3) for dances as she left the stage. I'd never seen guys scramble for the stage stairs so quickly to form a line. She climbed the poles to the ceiling, did incredible leg spins, gymnast quality rolls and incredible flexibility. The energy and confidence exuded from her made her incredibly hot and everyone just had to get a dance to get some time with her. It's pretty obvious how she got past auditions as anyone would be stupid to not hire her in enthusiasm alone.
It doesn't matter if you're somebody in this world, it rather matters you mean the whole world to somebody.

I admire people who take care of themselves and pursue a healthy lifestyle and that carries over into my preferences in a strip club. Your weight is a sympton of your health but only one of many symptoms. Focus on the causes of good health, not the symptoms. Some people will always be naturally heavier than others. Nothing wrong with that as long as you eat a healthy diet and get plenty of exercise. If you ignore your health it will eventually effect you in many ways.

its the advertising that has gone on for so long. Its a sub- conscience effect that a constent stream of images has on the brain. If an alien were to come to the US ( other countries as well but its really bad here) they'd think that any woman over 120 without D cups and white blonde hair was an "inferior" race of humans if they based it by tv and advertising over the past 50 years.
Its getting better I think, more diverse but in the US any woman can be considered attractive if she has implants and bleached hair and isn't over weight. Its not even necesarry to be toned either- chicks who are skinny w/ no muscle at all- i'm talking calves that look like a champagne flutes :o end up in centerfolds all the time. Dark haired women have to be 10x better looking to be thought of as attractive. Its sad- but that what subliminal messages do to a society But like I said up top things seem to be slowly changing and diversity and ethnicity is becoming more interesting to general society.

    To go one step further...

Given the REAL amount of obesity in America, (61 percent of American adults are now overweight, up from 45 percent some 20 years ago).

The average American woman is five feet four inches and weighs 140 pounds.

The "average" female dress size is now 14...although many women's clothing manufacturers have labeled their clothes 2 sizes smaller than they really are.

As I've said several times on this board, many of us don't care for a blonde toothpick with boobs. We love our sexy, confident, dancers with a little bit of extra padding.

SCGirl, sorry you had such crappy experiences at the amateur contests, but in MY own personal experience I have to disagree that guys lose interest once the clothes come off a non-skinny girl. I'm roughly the same size as you (maybe a little bigger) and I'm a dancer and I consistently make as much or more than anyone else I dance with. I have a belly, like not just a tiny little bump, but an actual belly that sticks out and can't be sucked in. I have thick thighs and wide hips and cellulite on my ass. All I hear from customers all day long is "It's so refreshing to see a girl with curves", "I love your hips/belly/whatever", "You have an amazing body, please don't ever lose weight!". There are always customers in the club who come up to the stage specifically for me and then leave the rack when the next (skinny) dancer comes on. Not one single person has ever said anything negative to me about my body. Maybe I've just been lucky, but I really do think that there's a market for my body type, and that (some) men want to see more than just tiny, skinny dancers.

I read an article about this recently (it was pertaining to jeans) and how all the manufacturers will size their clothes at LEAST three sizes smaller than they really are.. so if you fit into an 8 you are really an 11 and if you are in a 3, you are really a size 6... Kate Moss kinda screwed it all up for us when her twiggy sized body became popular a decade ago.. and Cookie is right.. the AVERAGE size of a healthy woman is a size 14.... Women need to design clothes instead of men (no offense!)

If things are sized so screwy.. its no wonder why we women are obessed with our weight, our figures, our asses, boobs and everything else!

Amen to that Gynger- and to make things worse one clothing label may size an item as a 2 and it'll be the same size as another labels 4 and yet another companies 6 !

And guys wonder why it takes us so long to shop !

i'm 5'3 and i weigh 140lbs i'm considered a "thick" girl. and i do good at work. i would put my self in the top 10% as far as money goes even if my body isn't what society says is sexy i have muscular legs and a big but and my boobs could be bigger but men like me because while i'm on stage i try to make them smile and i always make eye contact. i see some girls that i think are the epitome of beauty and because they don't smile and kinda act like they are better than everyone i make more money...or just as much. personality and confidence (not conciet) are what make men want to spend time with you and time is money.
