I am seeking travel but do not like the high contact or "extra" clubs. Which ones are bad for this. I am looking at Japan, Guam and Mexico. Anything I should know would be appreciated. Thanks

Of the three possibilities you mentioned, Japan probably has the lowest mileage requirements - inside the club at least ! However, one of the things which makes a Japanese tour a really positive earnings experience compared to a break-even working vacation is whether or not you're willing to be a "companion" for well heeled Japanese club customers outside of the club. This typically includes dinners and non-sexual "escorting", but may also include higher expectations (with higher pay to match of course).
If you can manage to get booked in them, there a handful of very upscale clubs in Mexico City and popular Mexican vacation spots which cater to gringo tourists and which have a manageably low contact factor. Most of these clubs are branches of well known US club chains. But the vast majority of Mexican clubs have outrageous contact expectations in exchange for very little money.
Assuming that you are a US citizen, working in the better clubs in Mexico or Japan is also going to involve applying for, being investigated by US gov't, and getting a US passport PLUS applying for and being granted a work visa, if you're thinking about working there for any significant amount of time.
Guam of course is a US protectorate. Thus if you travel from the US mainland to Guam via Hawaii, you do not need to worry about a passport or working papers. Guam clubs stem the range from medium contact to very high contact, although you can decide to limit the contact to whatever your own comfort level is. However, doing so may also make the difference between a break-even working vacation and a profitable dancing tour.
There are various agencies out there which will handle the working papers arrangements and the club bookings for all three of the locations you mentioned. They will also negotiate a contract with the clubs such that at least part of your travel and/or accomodation expenses will be picked up by the club instead of coming out of your own pocket, shift pay etc. However, these contracts involve a finite time commitment on your part.
If you sign the contract, get there, decide you don't like the operation, and want to leave early, you'll wind up losing some or all of your promised shift pay plus having to pay for your own accomodations and/or return trip home out of your own pocket. This can turn your plans of a profitable tour or a break-even working vacation into a major money loser, consider that a short notice one way ticket back from Guam or Japan costs over $1000 !
I am from Canada. Is that better or worse? lol

for Guam it's worse (because as a Canadian citizen you'll now need a US work visa to work in clubs in a US territory), but for Mexico and Japan it's probably better.Originally Posted by xandrialayne link=board=4;threadid=7269;start=msg82793#msg82793 date=1078896541
