Hey, Austin ladies,
I'm wondering if any of you are going to be working at Palazio when it opens up next week. I'm thinking of checking it out and wanted to see if any of you were thinking the same.

Girl.............go for it!!! Owner told me 15 is grand opening...be prepared for that to be postponed though, or at least that is the rumor mill. I will be there opening week as a guest, not sure if I am going to work due to certain personal reasons for not being able to strip Austin...keep us posted...PM if you have any questions!! Meow!

I'm very curious as to how many girls they will have, I wonder if there will be such a huge influx of strippers going there that I can sit at my old club and clean up.: I'll post a trip report when I visit.
Any customers been there yet? What do you guys think?
It won't open until March 15th. I will also check it out (as a customer, of course) but only after SXSW is done and the Grand Re-Opening Hangover is over...so maybe in April sometime. I already have enough on my plate right now with the Re-Opening of Camelot at Joy. What a weird coincidence, eh?

Joy has been closed down?

Two years ago, Joy built the most awesome VIP room in town. Unfortunately it was closed off and unused because of some permit issues two months after it opened. Now, two years later, it (Camelot by name) has been reopened as of last Friday, and I am one happy MFer because of it.
I just thought it was a weird coincidence...Camelot shuts down takes two years to be put back into service...Show Palace shuts down early last year, gets gutted by a fire last August right before it's supposed to be opened up, and now both Camelot and Palazio open within 10 days of each other. It was almost like a race. LOL!

My poker buddies have promised to take me to Palazio on Tuesday after the high roller gives his kids back to ex...
If ya'll want to know why I cannot strip anymore in Austin, check out p. 131 of this week's Chronicle. Hint: its not Willie!!!!

Really? I never noticed SXSW making much or any difference in my income. Do girls actually travel to work in Austin for that?
From what I am told by owners of 4th/6th street clubs, SXSW can be a major money LOSER if they sponser bands, because the wristbanders tend to be cheap. Thus, they get neither cover nor alcohol sales. I imagine its similar for the strip clubs. Are there even any Austin events that would spike earnings? When I stripped here 98-99, I don't remember any weeks that stood out.....

I'm planning on working during the day over there, as are several of my friends from the Show Palace days. I wish I could go in earlier! Oh, well. Hopefully I'll have lots of info to share soon. It certainly is gorgeous in there, totally unrecognizable from the SP days. Nice booth seating along one of the walls, a beautiful granite bar, and stages that are teeny-tiny compared to the giant catwalks the SP had. I haven't gotten to see VIP yet, I'm curious about it.

Been there a week now and am loving it - the club is gorgeous! I've been working the day shift (as I have been most of this semester) and it's been laid back but easy money - most customers are multiple dance buyers and/or good tippers.
And did I mention how gorgeous this club is? Leather booths against the walls, wood paneling - it's like a steakhouse with tits. Dances are well within my comfort level, haven't had too much of a problem with overly handsy guys. Management has been very, very nice, ready to take me to tables, etc. I had such a good time at work today, it was criminal. I really hope it stays this way, beacause it's great right now.
And it's beautiful! A complete change from the Show Palace, especially the large, well-lit dressing room and much, much better ladies' room.
VIP is cool, though some corners might be a little too private, if you catch my drift. I like the fact that it has its own restroom and bar back there - not to mention the largest and best TVs in the club.
Overall, a really spiffy work environment, and they still aren't charging any house fees. I expect that to change soon, but it's nice while it lasts.

Susan,
My roomie waitresses there at night, said all the same things- beautiful club (steak house with tits - very funny - that should be its slogan) great managers, no trashy music (the "lick my balls" rap songs at her last club were driving her insane) clean bathrooms and dressing room - only problem she's had are a lot of complaints about the prices ($5.75 for a beer) but I know they're trying to weed the clientele - hope it works
Now I just have to keep pestering them till there's a DJ opening...

damn, and i'm moving an hour closer to austin. i've been thinking of only working in houston if i absolutely cannot find work in other towns and would like to try austin, dallas, even victoria. heh. we'll see how finding work in houston goes, otherwise i might have to start my gypsy career earlier than expected.
