I'm reposting this for a friend of mine. Y'all should really check out her site, and pass it on to anyone who might be interested!

"Hi all.

I wanted to let you all know that I have just started a tax prep business, catering mainly to "alternative" type folk who either wouldn't want to use a random traditional accountant/tax preparer, or wouldn't feel comfortable (or safe) talking about their financial issues with one. (trans folk, sex workers, queer folk, kinky folk, etc).

Because of my own experiences in these communities, and my association with others in the same communities, I have a knowledge base and mind set that most other preparers don't. I can ask the questions that they wouldn't know to ask in order to get my clients as much money back (or the least amount they'd have to pay). For example, lodging for a week long stay in Texas for electrolyses (with a second person) might be deductible as a medical expense. Sex toys, subscriptions to On Our Backs, and internet connection fees are all things that could be deducted as a business expense for a phone sex operator.

If anyone has any tax questions, I'm happy to answer them. (my aol nick is TaxGrrrl1040), or you can email me at [email protected], or leave a comment here.

After this tax season is over, I am planning to write an article on the tax issues pertinent specifically to sex workers. When it is done I will post a link here.

My website is www.TaxGrrrl.com if you'd like to have a look.

Please feel free to pass the site along to anyone you think would appreciate the info. (There is also a referral program you can read about on the website.)

Thanks.
Karina"
