Default What to do for "stripper skin"

I feel like I'm breaking out so much more since I started dancing a year ago. The make up and smoke and sweat from working at the club is abusing my poor face.
So what does everyone use to keep their skin clear? Girls at my club have said pro activ works, but the girls saying it don't have a very clear complextion. I bought some make up removing wipes from Ponds so I won't go to sleep wearing cover up but what else does everyone do? If anyone knows of any great products I can get without going to a doctor let me know!!!!!

Always shower right when you get home from work, never wait until the next morning. Use a shower brush or loofah in the shower to wash off dead skin. I don't know if you use makeup on not, but if possible, wash your face periodically throughout your shift, cigarette smoke is absolutely terrible for the skin, and you are also breathing it in, unfiltered no less. I also reccommend taking some antioxidents to combat the cigarette smoke. Vitamins A,C,E are great, get a good brand like TwinLab.

Try to go outside like once an hour for a few minutes so you can get some fresh air. Ask the club owner to purchase a good smoke filter. There's one called "Living Air Breeze AT" that is ridiculous. It works so good, you can't smell smoke if someone is smoking right next to you and only costs like 500. It's designed for clubs, bars, ect. and makes a huge difference.

Also start looking into lotions like virgin coconut oil and MSM lotion. These lotions repair and replace vital nutrients that are damaged and destroyed by carcinogens in cigarette smoke. The anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties of the coconut oil will also prevent acne. Coconut oil also contains medium chain fatty acids that are extremely beneficial to the skin. Coconut oil is the only oil I have ever seen that actually rebuilds collagen. MSM lotion repairs acne scars, removes dark spots and has a STRONG affinity to water, and will pull water from inside your body to wherever you apply it, making your skin look soft and supple.

DRINK LOTS OF WATER. The best brand of water in the world is hands down Trinity Springs Water. This water contains a huge array of trace minerals and micronutrients. It is also extremely alkaline, measuring 9.6 on the ph scale. I also like evian, or any water that comes in a glass container. Water will flush toxins out of your body, and will make your skin look healthr and nourished. Also, eat a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables, which also contain a lot of phytonutrients, and antioxidents, to fight the negative free radicals found in cigarette smoke.

If you have access to a sauna, use it. Consider joining a gym that has a sauna. We naturally use sweat to sweat out toxins. Activating the sweat glands on a regular basis clears out your pores and removes toxins from the body. I used the sauna for 30 minutes once a week, and I have seen noticable improvements. 30 minutes in a sauna can also burn up to 700 calories! Did ya know that?

OK, that's all I can think of.

Azelex is okay but you have to wear it during the day and it makes your face look nasty and oily.

i recommend using Triaz 3% pads or 6%cream cleanser in the morning, and at night a pea-sized amount of Tazorac cream (not the gel, too harsh). this has made an incredible difference in my skin. and you need a good moisturizer for sensetive skin; i recommend Toleraine but it's hard to come by. search online or go to a Dermatologists office.

If you have oily, acne-prone skin I recommend Neutrogina On the Spot treatment. But don't just dab it on the individual zits. Apply a layer in the morning and at night, after cleansing, to your whole face. It keeps new zits from forming that way, and it really does a great job preventing oil slicks. Works great under make-up too.

Wow i don't know any one i worked wit who had great skin. The makeup covered the pimples etc. When the makeup came off the skin was like anyone else, blemishes scars and more.

I used alot of very light colour blush, as foundation made me sweat. At home i steam my face and use olive oil as well a Retin A every couple days when i remember.

Too much washing of the face however, will make your complection worse.

They sell it at any healthfood store.

MSM is a naturally occurring organic Sulfur compound which is present in fresh, unprocessed food. The body needs MSM for healthy cell repair, to enhance its immune system and to resist allergies, arthritis and parasites.

MSM is a naturally-occuring form of dietary sulfur found in fresh raw foods that are involved in the cycle of rain. MSM is deficient in foods grown in greenhouses or in foods grown through irrigation. MSM is volatile and destroyed by cooking. In the body, MSM softens leathery internal tissues by rebuilding connective tissue with elastic sulfur bonds. This is how MSM lives up to its reputation of building collagen and maintaining healthy joints. This is also why MSM increases flexibility (good for yoga), hastens recovery time from sore muscles, and is excellent for recovery from athletic injuries.

Because of its collagen-building properties, MSM creates smooth skin, thick lustrous hair, and strong nails. MSM makes the tissues more permeable so that they may move nutrients in and toxins out with greater ease. MSM has a remarkable effect at neutralizing foreign proteins (i.e. allergens, toxins, parasites) making it anti-inflammatory. MSM has been used effectively to neutralize the foreign proteins in snake venom. MSM works particularly well in conjunction with vitamin-C rich foods.

I persoanlly take 5 msm capsules 2X daily, and use MSM lotion on my face every morning. MSM also has helped me tremendously with back-pain from a car accident, because it essentiallr rebuilds healthy bone and tissue. It is absolutely an amazing mineral. You can find lotion and pills at any health-food store.

I steam every other day and get a spa facial once or twice a month. At home I use Queen Helene mud mask once a week and a buff puff. I also use Clinique's 3 step program and I find that their products get out a LOT of the dirt and yuck on my body.

My skinlooks best after I take a week or two off and if I'm not drinking alcohol or eating sweets/meats, but drink water and lots of veggies.

    See a dermatologist.

Anything with salicitic acid does wonders for me.

I have been acne prone and a fan of clean and clear line for many years.

Be gentle on your skin and you MUST follow a strict regimn. If you overload your skin with products or change your routine a lot you will get breakouts. If I go to sleep without washing my face once I see blemishes develope.

Birth control pill may help you.

Don't touch your face at all and don't let your hair rub against your skin either. Use clean makeup sponges and applicators. Don't apply makeup with your fingers, thats gross. They are all breeding ground for nasty bacteria. Don't wipe your face with dirty clothes either. In fact Blot, don't wipe ever.

Don't be afraid to moisturize, I love clean and clear moisturizer. It's light and non-greasy.

Tanning beds help dry up the skin, but its not a long term solution.

Make sure you butt or back is not breaking out. You might have to carry a towel around with you.

    Drink water

Skin is very important and can say a lot about your health. It's a sign of youthfulness and beauty. Take care of it.

The makeup wipes don't do a thorough job of removing the makeup for me. I like olive oil to clean it off. Then I wash as normal. Also, I'm a huge advocate of Retin-A. If you can't get to the dermatologist I say get the .025 cream. Miss George posted a link. Make sure you wash your pillowcases frequently.

Definitely me too. I have acne-prone skin anyways, but salicylic acid and a low-sugar wheat free diet does wonders- with makeup on my skin looks perfect, without it I just have leftover red marks from teenage acne.
I don't find that wearing makeup or not wearing it makes a difference, but I do break out more if I don't change my pillowcase frequently, or conversely if I use too much detergent on my pillowcases.

I'm finding ever since I started to drink lemon water (water with a squirt of lemon juice)... I havn't been so prone to break-outs as I used to be. Also, I drink this constantly at work and at home.

Then again, I tend to not drink alcohol, don't eat meat (or chicken but everything else) and have been drinking V8 juice ( http://www.v8juice.com/index.asp ).

Since I know that I don't eat enough vegies and am not inclinded to cook alot... I find that drinking my vegetable requirements is easier I like the Spicy one... not game enough to try the fruity ones yet.

Pro Activ is a great product but you have to be consistant with it and that means using it morning and night everyday! Moisturize with AVON's ANEW products...I swear by them!! If you contantly change what you use on your skin or don't wash your face morning and night then your skin will break out. Be nice to your face.
