    Default I want to know...

You know, I'm betting just about every topic conceivable has been covered, but I'm just a bit curious:

What's your favorite type of cardio? Do you mix it up? Are you faithful and consistent, or sporadic and random?

You know, it can get frustrating with a loss of motivation when you don't have a workout partner. I'm doing my damndest to stick with a great program on on right now, plus I really enjoy it.

Also, what seems to get you the best results? What's your most undesirable body part (in your eyes)? How faithful are you at eating nutritiously? I have a BAD sweet tooth!

    Just some food for thought!

my sweet tooth is CRAZY-- anything chocolate and i'm all over it. the rest of the time i eat pretty clean, but b/c of the dancing i find i can eat pretty much whatever i want.

cardio- i try to mix it up or else i get bored: spinning, bikram yoga, or running

best results are seen when i eat really clean and cut out excess sugar.

megan what is the routine you are on? im curious to know since you seem excited about it

It's called the Slim in Six series with Debbie Siebers. It was an infomercial, (usually I overlook that crap) but so far I really like it. She works your legs like a son-of-a-bitch! On the website I've heard her refered to as the "Squat Nazi"! I also do my Reebok core board every other day with it.

Well, good topic - maybe I'll get some ideas...

As I've said before, I'm a sucker for Tae Bo. It is totally shaping my body because I'm sticking to it. It's fun and I'm sweating buckets (a good sign!). My butt is getting like a boulder now *lol* and I like to skip every other morning. I also stretch. I too am watching what I eat but I'm gonna start checking out this tonalin cla everyone is raving about.

As far as sugar, I've cut down A LOT. I think it's why I'm seeing better results on my waistline. And believe me, it is HARD. I have a crazy sweet tooth, would eat chocolate every day but I've cut it out now (at least for the timebeing)

My fave body part? I'm beginning to love my butt again, especially thanks to Mr Billy Blanks. I'm getting afraid my thighs are gaining some 'chunk' so I'm cutting down drastically on squats. And I'm doing pull outs. I'm afraid my upper body will be imbalanced with my lower half if I don't do some serious arm exercises.

Currently I'm trying to lose weight and acting on Kobi's advice from a different thread, which means cardio twice a day. I alternate my morning workouts every other day doing interval running and distance running. Then at night I cross train with cardio videos, swimming, and biking. And of course with my evening workout I shorten the length every other day when I do my strength training.

But a concern I've developed lately is this what you would consider over-training? I've read that over-training is bad and can actually work against you. And does anyone know where you see results first when you start a new program? Because I've also read that it's very important to change workouts often to deter your body from becoming used to the same motions.

    Thanks

I'm no expert but I know this much...yes Splendor, it can work against you. You need a break every other day or few days to allow the muscle to rest and to develop. You can burn muscles if you overwork them and that is not good for you.

Diet is one of the most important rules along with excercise variation and regularity. When I say regular, not intensely every day. Maybe every other day. Remember your body needs a break once in a while.

Megan, if you don't have a regular workout partner and your routines are getting boring you might want to consider cross training. That way you will reap the benefits of several athletic activities.
As for your sweet tooth, well...maybe try saccharine?
