    Default Health insurance?

Every now and again I hear members complaining about health insurance costs. I've considered negotiating with a company to provide group rates for our stripping members and their families. Before I do so though, I'd like to know how many dancers are interested.

We all imagine ourselves the agents of our destiny, capable of determining our own fate. But have we truly any choice in when we rise, or when we fall, or does a force larger than ourselves bid us our direction. Is it evolution that takes us by the hand, does Science point our way, or is it God who intervenes keeping us safe.

So much struggle for meaning, for purpose. And in the end, we find it only in each other. Our shared experience of the fantastic. And the mundane. The simple human need to find a kindred, to connect. And to know in our hearts... that we are not alone.

    YES! YES YES!

But are the fees higher because of the stripper thing? Does that raise the copay, etc?

    I need insurance, but since I'm not a full-time entertainer, I don't wanna by price-jacked strippersurance....

I would definetly consider it - - as long as the price was well cheap enough. And good enough policy, ya know - basically the same worries everyone has bout insurance.

It would depend on what the policy specifics are.......Mostly I'd look at it as an opportunity to strengthen the stripper community.

First health insurance, then national unions and finally Capital Hill Lobbyists!

I can't say I'd for sure buy a product I don't know anything about yet. But I do really, really need health insurance, so of course I would consider. I'd have to know how much, and all the specifics first.

Yes! It would be nice if the company offered plenty of options and different plans for different needs, hence more people would sign up. Also, I would prefer a reliable company with a good name.

I would most definitely consider it. Right now, if I wanted insurance, I would be paying around $800/month for both me and my daughter...in addition to the $$ I shell out for the copay and deductible. If you can do better than that...I would most definitely consider.

    Yes i am interested....

This is something i need to sort out before coming to the states. I know that when i'm studying there, the college provides ( i think ) my health insurance.... but i would need it for afterwards, esp. with my health probs.

Around how much is health insurance anyway, i know it probably depends on what types etc..... I've been hosptialised 5 times in the last 1 1/2 with 2 operations and i didn't pay a dime.... health care is free in the UK so this is going to be a big expense for me..... but i hear you guys have better facilities.

    Seraya.

Health insurance, yes. Health care discount programs, no. A PPO would be nice. Blue Cross/Blue Sheild would be 'specially nice. :-)

I would need more information, but I don't have health insurance at the moment. It is definitely something I would be interested in.

Seraya there was an issue of a national magazine devoted to that a few months ago. Specifically a journalist was hit by a taxi and had to go to the E.R. in G.B. and waited for hours!!! But there was no charge................On the flip side in the U.S. an ambulance will take you to the E.R. and you'd be seen a lot quicker, but only if you have good insurance. No or poor quality insurance??? Than you get no or poor quality care!

Yes! I have just applied for health insurance through a local agent and the cost will be $106.09/month. I got the 'preferred rate' because of my age and no past health conditions, but I'm thinking a group rate has to be cheaper. This is over $1200 per year, with $500 deductible, 50% coverage up to $5000, 100% coverage after $5000 in expenses. No copay, but discounted doctor visits. They offered a temporary plan for $73/month which would have to renewed annually and the company could decide not to renew if I developed any major medical condition during the year. Not worth it if you ask me. This is the best deal I've found so far.

If SW can negotiate a better group rate, HELL YEAH I'll take it!

I was paying $500 a month for 2 years and never got sick so I dropped it. All that money and you dont get any back at the end of the year. If you could find group insurance for us that would be great. It would also be very generous of you to take your time out like that for us Pryce. Thank You !!

Health insurance companies are the root of all evil...they are the evils of capitalism personified...they bank on people's misery and seem to thrive on turning away their customers in need.....except for when I worked at a schmoosy private software company with a group plan where I got EVERYTHING covered including Retin-A and my wisdom teeth....let's do it!!!!

I would definately be interested if the right kind of policy is available. Since my fiance' and I have been totally self employed we have no coverage and finding an affordable policy has been on our to do list for awhile now.
