    Default Takling trash to customers

We've been having a problem lately with dancers trash talking other dancers to customers in attampts to make more money for themselves. I don't think that they realize that they are making cusomers leave! One girl even went so far as to say that another dancer had an S.T.D. Why would a customer come back to a club if he though the girls had S.T.D.'s? How can I make them realize that not only are they pissing off girls, but losing the club money?

(Then they bitch that they're not making any money)

    Help!

Ehh... if a lot of the girls are doing that like you say I would eventually have to go to a manager about it depending on how bad it was.. competition is a normal thing but this sounds worse.. good luck

My club is explicit about no bashing customers, dancers, other employees or management to any of the aforementioned. You can be fired for it - of course you have to prove it occured, which is difficult, but if several different girls complain, it might work.

That happens once in awhile at my club too, but as far as I can tell, the customers have been more turned off by the tash talker's bad behavior, than turned on. So they are just basically hurting themselves.

Nikki, you are so right here! The trash talkers only make themselves look bad. Customers, well, the good ones, can see right thru this manipulative behavior.

Regardless of all that, it is a good idea to mention it to the management in the club.

I wouldn't tell management unles it's really serious. You have to have some credibility. Nobody will believe you if you are a trouble maker or if the girl in question has a good reputation with the management. Even then, I wouldn't want to be a tattle-tale. Nobody likes that and usually those girls don't last long.

In the end, I just laugh when it happens to me. it almost always backfires on the offender.

Glam's got it right. You should be thanking the trash-talkers for bringing you to the forefront of the customer's attention!

One of my favorite ladies in an SF club was one whom a couple dancers volunteered was a stuck-up bitch, moody, a druggy, a thief and overall bad mojo to waste any time or money with. How can a guy resist? LOL. I will say she is one of the coolest, hippest, grounded women in the place and I just love her to death. I really owe the shallow, jealous hate-mongers for their pointing her out to me.

A guy realizes that when jealousy runs deep enough for other dancers to just, out of the blue, start trashing them- that other dancer must really be something special to become such a target for animosity. And the woman that doesn't have even a basic amount of professionalism is likely to be avoided as the customer starts to imagine themselves being the source of trash-talking back in the dressing room after he leaves.

Lastly, even for those without a sense of adventure or recognition, the brain works in strange ways for recall and choices. Likely, when the customer returns but has pretty much forgotten the drama that was spewed forth previously, he's more likely to feel unusually drawn towards the dancer that was trashed just from a sense of familiarity. Advertising/marketing knows this facet well- even if attention is brought forth in a negative way, the brain forgets the specifics and has an unusual draw down the road.

It doesn't matter if you're somebody in this world, it rather matters you mean the whole world to somebody.

Thanks everyone, you all made me feel alot better. You guys were right. Tonight one of the girls tried doing it to me! To one of the clubs bigger spending regulers to boot. He ended up complaining to the manager right in front of her then spending all night with me instead! He even took me upfront and bought me a new outfit too! A dress (hot), choker, and shoes!

She got chewed out and I had a great night!!! !! I just hoped she learned her lesson.

Good for you for taking the high road! You learned a very valuable lesson, maintained your dignity AND made out like a bandit!

That girl's negativity totally backfired on her. Hopefully she will change her ways.

MacKenzie, I'm glad your customer said something to management. Maybe that girl will think twice about talking shit about other girls now.

I hate it when girls feel the need to talk bad about other girls to customers. Most of the time it is out of jealousy. The customers get turned off by this too. Guys come to the club to relax and have a good time, not to get caught up in drama.
