Work your stomach muscles to fatigue every other day. Vary the kind of crunches you do, alternate side to side crunches for obliques. Do crunches untill you can't do 'em any more. Let your muscles shake and burn before you decide to quit.

Or, you can do sets of 25 ande give yourself 45 second breaks in between. Agin, vary the motion.

The point is t owork the muscle to fatigue.

I don't know how to answer that. What shape are you in now? Do you want good posture? Do you want to strenghten your core where most of your mobility originates? I'm not saying your goal should be a six-pack but strong abdominals are a prerequisite for most activities.

3 times a week would be good. Definately alternate between ab exercises.

I like the piece of equipment that has you in a standing position, with your shoulders on the pads, and you bring your knees up to your chest.

Also hundreds are good. It's a pilates exercise. Legs up and chin up and move your arms a hundred times

Dreamer's right, Andieb, you need to be more specific in what you're going for, and what shape you're in now. Also, just crunches won't cut it. You need varying ab exercises. And on another note, fuck I hate doing abs!

Its worth the money to consult a trainer. Those big balls work well also.

Pilates is GREAT for abs and its not boring like crunches.

If you can do more than 25 crunches without feeling the burn you are doing them wrong.

Hmmmmm.....this sounds like a great excuse to bug the hottie at the gym with the ripped 6-pack. You could ask one of them for some pointers. wink wink

I have read in numerous mags, that you can work the abs everyday. Spears says she does with her trainer.

Guess that is one area that will respond with daily activity, because you are hitting alot of muscles, not just abs....So they say.
