    Default Body For Life

Anybody here have or have had the Body For Life book by Bill Phillips? I was at Barnes & Noble and I was looking at it for a while. I can't remember who first mentioned it to me--it was someone on this site. I thought parts of it were really interesting. I learned that I was, in fact, doing way too much cardio and that I really have to focus on weight training. I didn't get far enough into the book to look and see if it had work out plans, diet plans, etc. Does anybody know if this is a good book to get? It's only like $5 on ebay. If someone could tell me more about it, I'd appreciate it.

    Yes i have the book.....

I first about body for life at the age of 14 and i was sold! so at 14 i joined the gym, got in to weights and really educated myself on nutrition and supplements.....

I think the book is great.... but the carb in-take is ( personally ) to high for me. Carbs don't necessarly make me put on weight but they don't help me to loose it and i wasn't seeing great results with having carbs 5-6 times a day like Bill Phillps suggests.... But saying that i know ppl who had great results following his book to the T, so of course its about finding what works for you, but this this book is a great guide.

He also got me into EAS supplements i e. Betagen ( hmb & creatine ) , Myoplex lite ( nutrition shakes & bars ) just to name a few....

If anything, i'm sure you will find this book very inspirational..... for $5 you can't go wrong! i would still pay $20.

    Seraya.

Yep, I got it. I like to pair the work out advice in "Body for Life" with the diet advice in "The South Beach Diet".

Now if I could plan my days a little better Hmmmm...

I have the book and think its great! Definetely a "must have" for anyone who wants to make a PERMANENT change, and not just a quick one. I first heard about this book from a dancer at my club. She said it changed her life and the way she worked out.

theres a pivotal book coming out called "the maker's diet" This book revels mankind's diet as prescribed by the bible. Yes this book does include animal foods for all you skeptics. Mark my words, this book will be a major revolution in the diet book field and will surpass both atkins and "south beach diet" in sales and adherance. This is the first book in history to link the bible and diet together. The author uses common sense, practical approaches to maintain ideal weight while not ever feeling hungry or deprived. As the title implies, "the makers diet" consists of foods made by whoever made our planet, mot by mcdonalds or hostess. There are many simple, delicious recipies. I HIGHLY reccommend this monumental book.

RYAN..... thank you ever so much for the link. I'm definitely interested in this book. He suffers from Crohn's disease which is what my mum has and had surgery for..... his supplements look promising too.

regarding the makers diet.. i think he's the guy that promotes Garden of Life products
I have his book somewhere (dont remember the name) and purchased tons of that stuff.. vitaminshoppe is cheapest i think

its good stuff!! of course i dont take it regularly but it all seems very good quality and pretty natural

even the "springs of life" little clear squirts of stuff you put in your regular water to make it hydrate your cells even quicker.. maybe a mental thing but glasses of water with this stuff is really refreshing

I know the author and it's a perfectly good program that has worked for many people. It's not advanced info, but good starting point for beginner types.

I was going to buy this book too.....and then I read the reviews at Amazon.com and thought differently. But, I guess that there are to be taken with a grain of salt because some turned me off a bit. I guess Ill go to the bookstore today to check out a few.
Im tired of being slightly over my ideal wieght..Ive been this way for as long as I can remember.
Eating for life sounds like a good book too....although I know alot of reciepes include fish and nuts (which is something I cant have)..any suggesttions on how to subsitute these?
