    Default Smearing Eyeliner

How do you guys keep your eyeliner from smearing? I will put it on, and 10 min. later, it has smeared all down under my eyes.

I use liquid liner... so it doesnt smudge much... but the pencil liners do and sometimes the look gets smoky and sexy. Just blend it in and clean out the sides.

Smeared eyeliner is good, gives you that "I've just gotten fucked hard and you're next!" look that is ooh so popular at work, hehe!

Try using face powder (any kind will do...but the most effective is pressed powder that comes in a compact w/ a little powder puff thingy).

Cover the area under your eyelid thoroughly with the powder, apply your eyeliner, and then use a makeup brush to dust off the excess powder. The powder will absorb oils and sweat before they have a chance to make your eyeliner run.

    THE BEST LINER EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Revlon Colorstay Eyeliner
In the twist up pastel type form, should be hanging on wall in a package, not just lose when you purchase it.

I tried dozens of eyeliners over the years and this stuff is amazing!!
It is my favorite beauty product.
You will never have to wipe under your eyes or worry about movement. Ever!!!
You can get it at any wal-mart type of store

If you don't buy this kind, it will also help to put powder over your liner to set it and stay away from lotions or creamy concealers around eyes.

I swear by L'Oreal's "Lineur Intense" liquid eyeliner. That stuff stays on pretty damn well unless you rub your eyes.

Chanel and MAC both make good cake eyeliners. Chanel's comes with a brush.

I have an answer to this question...and it plagued me for quite some time as well. What you do is invest in a GOOD eyeshadow that matches the colour of liner that you want to wear. Apply your liner as usual (I put my concealer on my lids to prep them before eyeshadow, then liner) and then take the matching eyeshadow and a stiff brush or small sponge applicator and put the eyeshadow on top of the liner and clean up edges a bit if the line gets too big...it takes some practice but your eyeliner could survive a nuclear explosion (even if you didn't) Also you get this super sexy smoky eye thing going on. ANOTHER eyeliner trick is to melt it slightly (you have to be very careful not to turn the hwole thing into liquid) but when you put it on slightly soft and it hardens on your skin a bit (I know it sounds wierd) but it has awesome staying power. I'm a bit (lol) of a makeup slave, so if anyone has anymore questions they can email me [email protected]. Hope that helps!

This product is a god send: She-laq. It's made by Benefit cosmetics. You can order it online from Sephora.com. In San Francisco, there are Benefit salons on Chestnut and Filmore.

This product is a make-up sealer. It is an odorless, thin, watery liquid that you brush on w/ one of the brushes that comes with it. The directions say you can use it on lipstick and eye shawdow as well.

I use it for my unruly brows and eyeliner and I am a very athletic, sometimes sweaty dancer on stage. My brows don't budge and my eyeliner is always in good shape. It dries in like, five seconds.

It is around $26 but this little bottle lasts at least a year. Just don't spill it like I did.

    Cheers,

That is exactly what I do. I was watching a make over on What Not To Wear and literally went DUH! when the artist said to use an eyeshadow as a liner. It leaves the eyes looking soft and not like you have a literal line under/on your eye.
    It's a mouse thing. You wouldn't understand.

    Question:
I also have problems with smearing.
I use black eyeliner on the insides of
    the eye (top/bottom) using Estee's,
    'Soft Smudge Black'.

I'm looking for a 'Kohl Black' liner that
won't smudge off and down my face
    so fast.

Since I'm not booked to dance right now,
I'm not able to spend at the beauty counter.
I need a drug store brand recommendation.
    Any suggestions? L
Well, I use MAC's black eyeshadow. I just dip a lining brush in some water and then dip that in the shadow. Just put it on like a liquid liner. Aftwerwards, gently dusting it with the powder eye shadow (don't use water) will darken it up a bit and "lock it in". It'll stay on until you take it off.

I use this stuff too and won't use anything else. My boyfriend is absolutely amazed at it's staying power as am I. I know it's no good to sleep with makeup on, but when I do, it hardly even smudges. It's amazing.
