The bill would make such mutilation punishable by two to 20 years in prison. It makes no exception for people who give consent to have the procedure performed on their daughters out of religious or cultural custom.
An amendment adopted without objection added "piercing" to the list of things that may not be done to female genitals. Even adult women would not be allowed to get the procedure.

I completely disagree with defining what jewelry an adult can or can not wear on their own body . Also note that this ban does not apply to men, only to women ???

I have my hood pierced and also my belly button :wink:. This are my choices as an adult. The last time i checked as an adult I am responsible for myself legally and personally. I believe that it is outragious that this is only directed toward females. Isnt that a bit discramanating?
