Default Looking for Friendly Advice for a straight male stripper.

Hello everyone. I hope no one minds me posting here, but there is no site primarily for male strippers.I started working at one club a couple weeks ago on amateur night and was hired immediately after walking off stage, and then I got another offer a few days later from a nearby club.I enjoy dancing when I am on the floor and am very flattered by the attention I get. However I do have some concerns about it.First of all I do not know how to brush off obnoxious customers(especially homosexual males) without seeming rude or interrupting my dancing.I have no problem with minor flirtations but when it comes to uninvited grabbing prodding etc I get very uncomfortable.I am also wondering if any of you have an opinion on my doing this to make extra money while I am in college.I also have alot of insecurities and have kept this hidden from several friends family members.

Well nice to meet you all
    Any advice is appreciated.

    Hey
Sure feel free to post here anytime. Its StripperWeb, not female SW or male SW.
Well, we all have to deal with obnoxious customers, the main point would be to play it off. Remember the gay customers for you are what might make the difference between a GREAT night, and a mediocre night. Not to say all gays pay better, but remember they want to see YOU looking hot. If they get really obnoxious, you can ignore them like we do, or you can just say, "Welll it was great talking to ya, I gotta work the floor"
Dont get nasty with anyone unless they do with you. Remember that even if you are not gay, you are "fulfilling" a fantasy, so just be cool with them. Dont TELL them you are gay, but be cool enough where they will feel comfortable.

    Good luck!

Thank you both for your replies.Unfortunately there arent any ladies only strip clubs that I know of in my area.I do try to help everyone have a good time and I am spending alot of time preparing for my show this weekend.I bought a number of things that should make my dancing more interesting.I simply am uncomfortable when gay men try to touch my crotch or @$$ it repulses me.The ladies that watch are usually alot more reserved and ask before touching.I have nothing against most of the gays there. Many of them are fun to hang out with and talk to after the show.It is a select few that piss me off.Anyway I really enjoy dancing and getting paid to be sexual. So I guess I can take the bad with the good.

Please keep in mind that women also frequent the female strip clubs also.... alone or with their husband/ boyfriend... It is something you will get use to.... not the grabbing.. but the presence....

Hey as everyone else has said....welcome to stripperweb and good luck!!
now, first ...there will ALWAYS be an obnoxious customer wether its male or female. Its something you get used to and brush off easily(eventually). Now I know gay men may make you uncomfortable =but not to sound sexiest but men spend more money in this industry than women. That is why it is a prodominantly female dancing industry....so to tolerate the uncomfortableness of a homosexual customer can mean a much larger chunk of cash at the end of the night.
Next...when it comes to grabbing ..give them a flirtatious warning the first time...hopefully they will catch the hint..if not, then tell them more directly. wether its male or female, you dont need to be grabbed if you dont want to be. set guidlines and stick to them, no matter the sex.
next..i think this is a great job for you to have while in college. a lot of people support themselves while furthering their education by being a part of this industry.
and when it comes to insecruities, we ALL have them......but just always think..you've got to be HOT because someone is paying you to look like you...
and last but not least....a lot of dancers keep this hidden from family. could be because you dont want to hurt them, or you are afraid of their reaction, its alright, in your own good time you will tell...dont rush..wait till you are confident in what you do and wait till you are ready. I have been dancing for 4 years and havent told my mom yet...its alright....just take your time...
    and again....good luck!!!!!!!!!!

As an alternative or supplement to your workload you might enjoy working in a dance group. There are agencies that specialize in throwing one night events for women. Check the back of your city's magazine e.g. NEW YORKmagazine or LOS ANGELESmagazine and check local stripper magazines in print and online. Try the Yellow Pages. I'm sure a hot guy like you will be hired and let loose on womankind! I knew a male dancer who was gay and when the guys were cute he basked in their grabs of appreciation and when they weren't cute he would quickly move out of the way or tell them they had to be cool because his man was there. On cranky days he'd call them trolls and fling their paws off. So if they don't have a friendly vibe the hell with money, tell them 'no touching'. Believe me it won't kill your cash flow (unless he owns the club ) I kid, I kid. Don't be afraid to stand up for yourself because bigotry is not your beef with them, the disrespect of a few is.
