    Default Blackheads....

Yup.. Blackheads is the topic. What do you do to get rid of or minimise the blackheads on your forehead (around the 'between the brows' area), nose and/or chin ???

I've had them forever and so I havn't really done much to be rid of them or minimise them. I have sort of given up on that battle... just wondering if there is SOMETHING I can try that I havn't already tried.

PS If this has been answered before in this forum, please could you help direct me towards it.

Have you tried pore strips they work..... and so do peel masks.

But the secret to my great skin ( apart from genetics) is herbal black soap, made out of plantain skins, it is a natural source of vitamins A & E and iron. The one i use also contains aloe vera but they have other varities that contain lemon, avocado, papaya, guava etc. This soap is natural and hand crafted in the african rain forests and villages.....I SWEAR by it. Its a called "village fresh, Alata Saminaa" and you WILL see a difference after a couple of days.

I don't know if its possible to get it where you are from.... i get mine from Ghana or from the lil african food or beauty supply store they have here. ... i will try to see if they have anything on the net about it.

Also pls don't forget to use facial scrubs.... exfoliating makes a huge difference!

    Seraya.

ok i found a ton of info on the black soap..... just type in search, Alata Saminaa/Samina.... here is one i found with info on the soap and how it is made http://www.nasabb.com/nasabbnew/blacksoap.htm

the prices vary... on some sites the price is $1.90 and on another the price was $16.99.....

This and "mud masks" are what i stick with and ppl always comment on my skin.

The black soap sounds great - I should ask my Ghanian friend to get me some. But I can't quite get over the fact that it looks like a turd.

I just tried Dr. Brandt Pore Effect today. It's a cream that digs out the blackheads and brings them to the surface so you can wash them away. After applying the cream, I was actually able to squeeze those deeply-embedded f**kers out of my chin, something I was never able to do to save my life! I know you aren't supposed to squeeze, but it does not irritate my skin, so. For the most part, you are supposed to use the cream every night on the blackheads until they eventually come to the surface. Sephora.com carries the product--but it'll cost your limbs. But so far, I have found it to be worth it.

i have little blackheads on my nose that drive me crazy... sometimes i just want to get a vaccuum sucker and get them out... LOL... usually i use apricot scrub but last time i used it i got a little carried away and scrubbed away a huge layer of skin on my chin and all around my nose...that took weeks to heal... it was WAY worse then a few blackheads... and i used so much dermablend and concealer that it was frightening... ughh....

They have this little instrument at most beauty stores... its to extract blackheads. You place the instrument over the blackhead, push down and sideways, and the nasty little thing comes up. GROSS I know. LOL But I used to get a few of these in HS and finally got to getting rid of them.
Now, the main thing I do is wash my face everynight, exfoliate and use a toner. (Closes up the pore so no dirt gets in) But toners arent great for people with really dry skin. (I have normal)
But see if this works for you.... heres a link

I would go to a dermatologist and get DIFFERIN. I have used it for years with success. It speeds the cells processes so it loosens the blackheads and keeps your skin from being able to maintain more.

If they have been a problem for years you have probably tried most over the counter treatments so it is time to see a derm. They are really not that expensive and its not complicated. I would look like shit without seeing mine a couple times a year.
