    Default Vegas

    Hi everybody-
I am moving from Colorado to Las Vegas and was wondering what you all knew about stripping there. What clubs can you make the most at?Also,I do not want to work at a dirty club. Which ones are dirty?Any information about working at Vegas clubs would really help-thanks!

Vegas is definately major leagues. There are tons of dancers in the big clubs here and quite frankly some nights you may do better in the strip clubs the locals frequent over the big clubs by the strip.

There are soooo many dancers and a lot of guys who come out in groups that it can be like pulling teeth to get a dance. These guys will turn their head while you are talking to them or even grab another dancer who is walking by while you are sitting at their table or on their lap trying to sell them or get up and walk away from you. If you work these big clubs like the ones at home you won't even make your payout back.

Your sales skills need to be perfect, and you need to be aggressively persuasive with these guys and with every one don't take no for an answer. You will get some customers who are easy and have some money but most of the time every table dance or VIP sold requires you to talk the customer into it. There ar so many dancers to choose from on the floor that the guys are overwhelmed.

And lots of the clubs will give you the runaround. I am working in Vegas now and when you can find some decent customers it is good but the money is not consistent and 4-5 days of decent to ok money can be followed by the same amount of days of no money.

I would definately take the Dancer Wealth seminar which is here in Vegas before tackling these clubs. I would say that over 1/2 the dancers here are barely making it or many work a few days, make no money and go home.

I am still learning how to work here and I have danced for 15 years in 20 states.

Not trying to discourage you but telling you you need tough skin and training to be succesful.

Getting your papers for a Sheriffs card can involve some run around as clubs are good at saying they are not hiring.

Cheetah's or Glitter Gulch are possibly good for getting hired but that changes daily. Try them first. Go to Cheetah's at about 9:30 and ask for Ski. Treasures, and Sapphire as well as Olympic Garden are crying too many girls now. Treasures go in at 8:30 and ask for Nick. Make sure you have on heels and are dressed to impress when going in to try and get hired. If you can get in any of those clubs I mentioned that is ok. Then you can go from there. Crazy Horse you can try the 5AM to 1 shift or 1PM-9. Be there at the beginning of the shift and talk to the shift manager. The night shift is loaded with girls and most likely won't hire you. The 5AM shift may be better than the afternoon one.

Cheetah's is the busiest day club as it is popular with regular visitors and locals. Nights are hard to make money. It is saturated with dancers at night and the club is small and lots of young guys come in.

If you could work days at Cheetah and nights at Treasures that might be a good combination.

If none of those clubs work out, try the Library. It's a newer club on the east side of town, with not many tourists but it can get you started.Jaguar will probably hire you Its a huge muti million dollar place with not much business except on weekends. Also there are Pleasures and Strip Tease. They are kind of slow also.

    Good luck.

The absolute LAST place I'd be moving to now, or anytime in the near future, is Las Vegas.

    I agree with Bridgette.

If it weren't bad enough that the dancing business is very slow out here right now due to oversaturation, Las Vegas is now going through a housing boom. A starter house will now cost you about $200K. Therefore, earnings potental is down and cost of living is up. This in not the kind of environment that a newbie in town dancer wants to come to.

Thanks for your advice everybody. There are other reasons why I am moving out there-not just dancing. So I guess we will see how I do. I am nervous now!!

Since dancing is not your only reason for moving here, there is hope. Don't be nervous.

Personally, if that is the case and with summer almost here, smaller clubs which attract a local clientele may be your best bet. Those clubs will be more like what you are used to at home and you will get a chance to build some regular customers.

Cheetah's hands up has the best day shift business in town and does ok during the summer. Don't listen to negativity about it. Day shift there is totally different than night and you get more older guys alone who are more open to conversation. The wise night dancers go in between 3 and 5 to get a couple hunderd dollar jump on night shift when herds of girls pour in.I recommend getting hired at night by Ski who is the GM. If he hires you, you can work any shift you want. If the day shift manager hires you, you can only work his shift. Days have $10 floor dances (still $20 in the front VIP room and 4/$100 in the back VIP) and drink specials so selling dances isn't as hard. It's more like an Arizona club then and a more friendly environment.

Also The Library is a nice newer club which is set up in the decor of a Library and has a shower behind the cash register at the bar, where a girl can walk the floor for tips and when she has enough stand in the shower topless for all to see while the main stage girl is dancing. The club is very diverse dancerwise and the DJ will play whatever you want to dance to. When I went in there as a customer guys were buying dances along the walls. There were probably 40 or so customers and 15-18 dancers. That club would be a laid back place to work and you could work it at the same pace as you do in Colorado.

So many girls come here looking for big $$$ and the smart dancers who stay here are more focused on working when and where they can make LIVEABLE dollars as they did before they came here and know that there will be some big dollars coming their way randomly if they work enough and stay focused.

There are a few other places you can work where the hustle is less extreme, but they are virtually all tourist driven and that won't give you LIVEABLE income during the hot weather months.

Treasures is trying hard to attract locals during off peak hours with it's free buffets like they have in Houston. We'll see if they are able to get enough heads in there to keep girls busy in the summer.

Hope this helps. If you can get in those 2 clubs I mentioned, (days in Cheetah's) you should be fine. Then once you get the feel of things here and Fall arrives you can decide if the megaclubs are for you.

The cost of an extended stay suite (they are really small one bedroom apartments) will be about $235-$270 a week and after 30 days your 9% tax has dropped off so then you'd be paying around $215-$250 a week depending on where yopu stay. You can get a monthly no lease no credit check rate for $800 or less. Apartment rent here is probably comparable to Denver. It's just that 6000 new people move here every month and builders can't keep up on the housing demand that house prices have crept up.Gas prices are high as the gas supply here comes from CA and the cheapest regular unleaded in town today is $2.03 a gallon. But even with 1.6 million people here this town is not that big and a tank of gas lasts us about 8 days here, maybe 9.

    Good luck.

What about Glitter Gulch? I went there both during the day and night and found most ladies liked working there although it isn't fancy by any stretch of the imagination. Tip out according to the ladies was $65 and they got to keep all the dance money which averaged $20 to $25 per dance. I noticed several nice looking ladies busy all the time. It is mostly one way contact lap dancing.

This post is very accurate I would say, however I was paying tipout of $70 when I was last there in October 2002!?

I have posted a review of this club in the Clubs & Reviews section about the Glitter Gulch that may be very helpful to you!

Whatever you do stay the hell away from Cheetah's though I found that place to be very sleazy, but that's just my personal opinon! (oh yea and it was at night too so?)

Don't worry though because as many clubs as there are in Vegas you should have no problem finding the one that fits your taste!

Glitter Gulch said they were not hiring over the phone on saturday.Olympic Garden the same scoop. Sapphires too, and Treasures the GM is a picky asshole who used to be GM at OG. He told a very pretty girl I work with who is easily a 9 to put a bikini on and walk, and then told her she could work M-Wed. She told him the hell with it if she couldn't work every day. houston treasures isn't that mean. If you're hired you work anytime you want. Of course they do more business in Houston.I could easily outwork the girls in the LV Treasures because I have Houston experience and am used to sitting and making money which is what Treasures in both cities is all about. Vegas girls just table hop. But he told me no. I am going back prepared to argue. This is what it takes.

Just because you like a club in Vegas DOES NOT mean you will be hired. These clubs hire when they want. They ALL have TOO MANY GIRLS. You must be persistent. Get hired where you can if you are serious about staying here and every week keep pursuing the clubs you prefer until you can land one. If you don't do it that way you'll have no success.

The problem with Cheetah is the night shift has a LOT of girls. They are pretty but many times the girls outnumber the customers and they stay on the floor and push the guys hard for dances. The clientele is the problem. Lots of guys in groups. REJECTION IS FIERCE! DON'T ASSUME NIGHTS ARE BETTER FOR MONEY HERE!! You want older guys from out of town and many of them don't come out at night. Some older locals are good too. They don't come out at night. The cheap ones do.Young cocky guys do.

The best guys I found on a weekend who wanted the company of a lady and paid me for my time were found at 6:00 on Friday evening, 3:00 on Saturday afternoon, and 9am Sunday morning and a few isolated weeknights.Even with 25 girls on the Sunday morning shift, they don't work the floor consistently and the customers were more receptive to me and MUCH more friendly.

I have worked all the shifts there and the morning and day shifts are better and the customers are not as hard. A big problem with Cheetah is they limit funny money to $400-$500 a customer. That is bullshit. I lost money because of that the other day.

Having worked in Houston, extras to me mean sex. I am not freaked out seeing some girls do more than others. Each girl needs to see a club for herself. Don't worry about what other girls are doing. The big issue is selling the guys and they can be hard.Cheetah's will put a girl out if they see her giving a hand job. Houston top clubs most of the time are not concerned.

Tina gives excellent advice...be prepared to hit up alot of clubs over and over again. There are tons of girls trying to get hired at the different clubs here, and the managers are constantly deluged with new hires. Often it is more a matter of timing than looks as to whether or not you'll get hired (i.e. if the manager feels like taking the time to hire and file paperwork for girls). And since there are so many girls, often the same managers cant remember that you were there last month trying to get hired. And going into the club during the slower hours to get hired doesn't work here either, because most Vegas clubs you get hired to work with a specific manager during specific hours, and if you want to work different hours and shifts you often need to get rehired by another manager TO WORK THE SAME CLUB. What a pain! And all the clubs tell girls over the phone that they are not hiring, if you want a chance at getting hired you have to physically show up at each club.

I've also found it helpful to have extra copies of my sheriff's card too, as sometimes some of the clubs want to hold your sheriff's card while you work or won't hire you if they see the sticker of a competing club on your card. (I've currently got stickers for about five different clubs right now.)

And Tina is right about money on night shifts...often a pretty girl can make very good money on a early morning or afternoon shift. If you want to work this route, you have to work at one of the older, more established clubs like Cheetahs, Crazy Horse Too, or Olympic Gardens, that are open 24 hours. The guys that come in around these times are there for a reason...they want to buy dances, have a good time, not put up with crowds, and often have commitments to meet at night (especially the local customers, who do most of thier work on nights and weekends). Just walking around chatting with these customers for 5 minutes during these times will easily sell dances, unlike night shift where it is so crowded that you can't even move. And even during the morning and day shifts, there are no extras, unlike other cities, like Houston or San Francisco.

I haven't worked at Cheetahs like Tina has, but I have dancer friends who do work there, and have the same things to say about morning and afternoon shifts. However, I have worked mornings and afternoons at Olympic Gardens and Crazy Horse Too, and there is decent money to be made on those shifts.

cheetah's, olympic gardens, spearmint rhino, and crazy horse and treasures(depends who u ask) are better know for being dirty clubs. sapphire and club paradise are the cleaner clubs. it just depends on what you are used to, but also on the size. clubs hire more girls when there are big conventions in town like this week with the broadcasting convention. it also depends though how many girls they already have. the money is good and it can happen during the week or on the weekend. good luck to u

The clubs are now requiring the business license. Go to 555 E. Washington St, suite 1300, (1 block east of Las Vegas Blvd. N in North Las Vegas on the north side of the street in the County office bldg between 8-5 M-F. The cost is $100 and they will take a check. I went Friday before last about 2:30 and was out before 3. They accept checks too if you are short on money go on Friday and you have the weekend to cover it.

You give the club a COPY of the license.

I've worked at Treasures a few times and found it to be okay. I averaged about $500 a shift for 5 hours at night. It was basically one way contact dances.

If I would have read all this before I might not have gone to audition at all! I walked in during CES, one of the busiest times of the year there.

I've been fortunate that most of the techniques I use in other places have worked for me there and I haven't seen guys pull over another girl while he already has one on his lap or anything like that. I went to visit Cheetah's as a customer and it was NASTY.

Nina Daisy, do you work in Vegas ongoingly or ONLY when a big convention is in town?

I couldn't get hired in Treasures or I would have worked there being that I have worked in Houston. Nick is hard to get hired from and doesn't hire as many non white dancers as the Houston club does.

The reason I ask if you work when no big conventions are in town is that many girls say the business in Treasures is up and down and the older established clubs have steadier business.
